Watched this obsessively in 2014/15 while I was dealing with my gayness and figuring out how to come out. Thank you for having this available. Helped me out so much. Almost 2018 and have been a confident and happy lesbian for a dang long time. Thanks.

I best express myself through music - both listening and playing. So naturally, as I was trying to find ways to accept myself, I turned toward KZread - because there's a song for everything, right? But I couldn't find anything. All the LGBT songs I could find were by straight people. I was sinking deeper and deeper into depression until one day, I found Tegan and Sara. Thanks for being such a wonderful inspiration and just completely opening up my world. You have meant so much to me, and continue to be a major part of my life.

Hey guess what, everyone: you should all get accounts on iHeart Radio for this month, because I just found out they're celebrating Pride month with a Pride radio station - full of songs by musicians of our LGBT community! They haven't played any Tegan and Sara yet that I know of, though... :(

Odd Fruit I havent told my parents in fear of that! My brother was asked by my mom the way Sara was and then my dad found out when she told him (both are accepting). All my life though, I would unconsciously do things my brother would do. Not because I wanted to copy him, but because I JUST ended up doing them, no other reason. I feel if I tell them Im also gay, they're gonna think I "got it from him" or question my certainty about it because I might be wanting to be gay because of him or something. Proof that that isnt true is that being gay for us was completely normal. We never had to come out to each other because we both just KNEW. It was so natural. Like the way I assume straight siblings know they're straight without asking questions is the best way I can explain.

when i came out i knew my mum would accept it straight away as her best friend is a lesbian but that feeling of worry and being scared is still there i rememebr sat with my mum and i had my first boyfriend and i was sat with her for liek half an hour just talkign aload of crap and then finally it came out i told her and she looked at me for like 10 seconds and said i knew you were gay since you were 5 im like thanks mum is that it im expecting shock or atleast are you sure haha not just yeah ok i already knew but im glad i had it easy and i feel for those who are not as lucky as i am to have a supportive family and friends...my advice to people comign out would be you are who you are you need to try and figure your self out and love yourself for you and when it comes to telling people you only have to tell people you want to i told my best friend who ofcourse is a boy but the way he is in his personality i thaught he was just gunna say i dont want to see you anymore but he gave me a cuddle and said look we have been friends for a long time it doesnt bother me that your gay i will always be here for you and this is a guy that is quite a geezer or manly man sort of thing lol... so hopefully if anyone can accept you it would be your family and friends but if not then just as long you remember it gets better and it really does maybe not right away in school and stuff kids can be mean but as long as you love your self nobody else matters...also i have a few gay love stories on my youtube channel if you want to watch them and they might help you they might not i have a new one coming out very soon that is about coming out and a first relationship and a lot of drama they are a mix between happy sad angry and just mixed emotions really xxxxxxxx peace xxxxxxxxx

I had a traumatic childhood without security or love from the adults in my family. Sexual abuse was the norm for most of the time until menstration began. I never became gay, or even thought about it. That being said, my sister, a year younger, with the same background, became gay. I was told by another sibbling, but never said anything to her. Why is it I'm not gay ? Is it nature not nurture ? I'm heavilly into the Arts and have gay friends, my sister hasn't got an artistic bone in her body. I am a woman who wanted 4-5 children and mother them affectionately. Nature only gave me one miracal child whom I love dearly, and suspect is gay and as many times I ask and tell him I'm fine with it, he wont come out. Maybe he's not gay, but he's 24 and no girlfriend. He grew up without an abusive father for a few years before we broke free. He played with girls and Barbie dolls as well as trains and cars. I am very interested in how people discover they are gay, both for my sister and my son. My son has never discussed it with my sister. I am no longer married to a man, nor want a relationship, but by same token, dont feel any inclination for a female companion.

it has nothing to do with you background honey ;) It's just the way we (people) are wired. If your sister was straight, I guess you would't even thought about it? Also having gay friends and being artistic doesn't make one gay. One can look as straight as a ruler, but they can still be lesbian, you know. I don't know if I helped you but yeah.

No, it doesn't. Homosexuality is merely not heterosexuality. It doesn't contradict it; it just ISN'T it. EVERYTHING that isn't heterosexuality...is not heterosexuality.

Nightraven So, you feel nothing for your father, your son(s), your brother(s)? You find that disgusting? They're the same gender as you, but you probably do (at least) hold a certain fondness for them. It's your opinion, and I respect it. You don't have to agree, but I ask you, implore you, to realize that there is -nothing- disgusting about two consenting adults loving one another. Frankly, I think that your attitude is not only asinine, but disgusting. Life is much too short for anyone to find something, which has no affect on their life, disgusting. I could say you're wasting your time here, on this clearly pro-gay video, bur let me tell you something. If you hadn't come, I couldn't tell you this. Instead of coming to pages/videos/places/events like these, focus instead on the things that you love and enjoy; it will be time much better spent.

Yeah nice little poem you have here, but you knew exactly what I meant when I said feelings so don't play stupid. And life is not short, life is pain and misery for a very long time with sometimes gets better or worse. And this does have an effect on my life. every time I see one of these pro LGBT ads on here pop up in front of my face is that time I get the feeling of having my day ruined by my own hatred. I want to enjoy my day but have the things I hate shoved down my thought doesn't help. And people like you witch constantly nag me about what i hate is ; to say the least; annoying. But never the lest it is disturbing to me how disgusting some people are, and also how mindless some people are that they cant think for them selves and just follow the crowd

Nightraven No one is shoving anything down your throat here. You clicked this link yourself, came here voluntarily. For what purpose, I wonder? To whine like a child because it isn't the 20th Century anymore? Time goes on, and people change. Get over it. And, if you think this is a popularity thing, you must really be willingly ignorant to the world around you. I would say that I'll pray for you, but...I'm gay, and an atheist. I do hope that someone will be able to open your eyes to what a fool you're being, before it's too late.
