Love this! So proud of my girls. They have come so far. Any "fan" who calls them a sell-out isn't really a fan. Tegan and Sara deserve all the success in the world! PS: You can totally see me at 8:08 on the right side in a grey t-shirt :)

As mean and not fair those comments were, I empathize with people mourning an era of tegan and sara as well as fearing their place in their fan base, feeling comfortable and a sense of community, would be gone

So so glad this documentary was made. I think a lot of people didn't realize that Tegan and Sara actually read the terrible things they said about them. Real fans would never go against these talented and amazing musicians. Also, the Oakland show was one of the best concerts I've attended. So proud to be part of this documentary (I was in the crowd shots!) about my favorite people in the world!

I will always be so damn proud of you Tegan and Sara. Every step of this way I have been on your side, as you grew as artists I grew as a person with your help. I remember crying when I found out you were nominated for an Oscar and crying even more when you were going to perform. Taylor was such an accomplishment and Katy Perry was even bigger. I was so overwhelmed with emotions because I was so happy that so many people out there were gonna feel the words to this music that has saved me time and time again. I was happy that this newer generation of lgbt youth was gonna be able to connect to you the way I did. I feel almost like a proud parent or brother. I want you to know that I will be with you for as long as you will have me! Thank you for everything and here's to the next album. Love you!!

Completely agree with what Tegan is saying! I feel some diehard fans feel TOO much of a connection in terms of thinking they "own" them and the sense that they don't want their favorite artists to get big and be successful because they will lose a special connection with them. Of course this is true but like they said, they need to push themselves and at the end of the day - their responsibility is making music. Not catering to specific fan bases with specific taste.

I say no one of any importance cause it is my opinion listening to them everyday over and over and over again...... I wasn't meaning to offend anyone by it so if you took it personal sorry to you......... and yes unlike others artists they are more talented...... therefore this is why I stick with rock instead of pop

I feel as if it cleared up the fuss about them and their fans and clears up the fact that they aren't sell outs.

I'm glad they covered this, they're not selling out, they're spreading out. Wouldn't you want everyone to share the joy and happiness of their beautiful music. Yes its a new genre, but its still cool. And if you dont like it then whatever. Theyre still awesome role models. You're not a real fan if you think these kind of things. I miss the mailbox though, I wish they had it at the con x.

tegan and sara deserve the world, they are so warm-hearted and kind! I really think that these fans who call them a sell-out are a bit scared of losing them to the big mainstream pop world. tegan and sara gave all of us a small save place, a familiar atmosphere and now these people think they lose this kind of feeling when they go to big concerts. but you should know for sure that this never gonna happen because tegan and sara are such loyal and amazing role models! thank u

I think the sellout thing with the fans (or "fans") is mostly not really directed at being successful but at some seeming compromises, shifting, some integrity sacrifice the artist is perceived to had made /make in order to get to more success. So this is not just in the music industry. At least that's how i see it (but yeah, no doubt people can just be hating on others's success). But i also think (i can be wrong) this is not the chase with Tegan and Sara who (still) do things by Their own rhythm and are still the down to earth artists. I'm a big fan of theirs and i wish them all the best and that they keep delighting us with their music, and clips like this, and so on :) Much love from Romania.

The more successful T & S are, the further their music will be able to reach out to people in small towns and cities or even countries (looking at you Russia) who don't necessarily have positive LGBTQ role models. I consider myself to be lucky growing up in the Melissa, Indigo Girls, Ferron era where you found a safe place in their music and you identified with every lyric of every song, because even when you were alone, you were never really alone.

They are so far from seeing the point. If you measure success by how many faces are staring at you while you play or how much money is in your bank account- I feel sorry for you. Your music was never anything like Katy Perry or Taylor Swift (and still really isn't) but it took a dramatic turn. If that's all you and your self/music evolving than more power to you. But it's so obviously much more than that, you're making a conscious effort to appeal to a different crowd and that alienates a lot of your longtime fans. I'm not saying I don't like the new stuff, I'm just explaining how you're missing the point entirely. P.s. It's really not helpful or kind to villainize genuine fans who have criticisms or opinions. Albeit, people like "your dead to me" chick are obviously going too far.

Ik this was posted a year ago, but I completely agree w/ you. I still like them and their music- don't get me wrong. But it seems as if recently they have been so indulged in becoming mainstream, getting more attention, and how much more they're making. They just don't seem as genuine as they used to. Plus I didn't like that they generalized themselves with middle class people. It's not like they were suffering financially as commoners usually do, and have to rake out money just to even see their show or buy their merch. Idk if just got on my nerves. I'll always be a fan of their older music, just not really their new music or persona, really. They just seem less humbled, and don't even do the banters anymore bc they're "mainstream".
