Hey Rich, you remember MJ in his first All-Star game. His teammates refused to pass it to him. The Fever looks the same too me. CC barely touched the ball in long stretches of the game. They would not screen for her. They would not run the court for her. She is all by herself with no help. The only girl on this team that will help her is sitting on the far end of the bench. That is Celeste Taylor rookie. She has played 0 minutes in two games. Best defensive player on the team and a spot up shooter. She would also run fast breaks with CC.

I'm sending the internal message to her circle that she needs to go Jordan and let the team know she is the leader. Should’ve loaded up on more bench players that could’ve fit CC’s style cause she would at least be able to put up numbers playing with a bench unit down the stretch. Their off guard is working back from a last minute injury,so CC is playing some 2....allowing the Veteran PG to play. They do look outmatched athletically and size wise so far, so a 2-12 start would get the coach off the charter flights and back into a u-haul......but for now, be logical

I think Sue is right on the money with several points. Caitlin's fan base is putting her on a pedestal that is way to high. The Fever is not a strong team, which let's the defenses focus on her. The WNBA is reacting to her fan base and the media far more than actions/remarks from Caitlin. I feel bad for Caitlin, because she has to try and live up to this fictional super player the fans and media portray her as. The fans are calling for the coaches head as if that is the whole problem. Reality can suck at times. If the Fever had another player that was threatening on offense, then Caitlin would get more looks. Right now she is being swarmed on every possession, which makes the adjustment to the pro-level of play so much harder. It would have been better if the schedule would have been front loaded with weaker teams. I hope that someone helps Caitlin take a deep breath so she can ride out this storm and that the league understands that the super-player image coming from the fans and media is not what's coming from Caitlin - give her a break.

Sue was just as beautiful in person. I remember saying, "I love you, Sue!!", and then her turning around and blowing me a kiss! Then all three of them turned away and giggled like school girls as I stood there in shock that she even acknowledged my "cat call". That made my day, and made me forever love Sue Bird (to this day) ❤

Just look at pictures of her at Iowa versus now. Her coach and team are trying to protect a sleep deprived athlete? You decide.

This conversation is a bit simplistic. I just watched video on Taurasi, Wilson, and other "GOATS" being guarded by one defender, not being double- and triple-teamed. Also, this conversation totally leaves out the Fever's lack of offensive strategy in setting up screens and making plays. The look-at-me-I'm-the-coach coach has also expressed a disdain for long 3's and gave Caitlin a '0.5 second rule' that's now messed with her thinking. In one game I saw Caitlin double-clutch twice. I never saw that in Iowa. She looked like she wanted to shoot, then she backed off and started to look for someone to pass to. So now Caitlin is supposed to pass the ball and do 'deep 2's.' Just talking about this whole idea of her problems in transitioning to the WNBA is not as simple as Taurasi was right.

Ridiculous. I’m not even a Clark fan but to say DTarsudi was kinda rt. is a joke. C. Clark scored 20 in her first game. 2nd game only 9 but all they did was try to feed it in to Boston who missed shot after shot or actually lay up after lay up playing like a typical WNBA. Throw to your one big girl in the paint and let her try to make maybe 40% of her lay ups/5 ft jumpers. God awful to watch. I love how all these WNBA players (current not Sue Bird) always have to say how there are soooo many great players in the league and they have been playing GREAT basketball for years now almost like they are trying to convince you (and maybe themselves ) of that. The few times I have watched over the past 5 years it was AWFUL. Almost like going yo the dentist the missed shots, missed lay ups , slow play and god awful turnovers. Unwatchable. It will take 20 C. Clarks to make people want to watch this league. The hype will wear of fast.

The WNBA has Fever starting the season w/7 games in 12 days w/all but 1 game against a top 4 team, so they can use CC to get attention for the top teams in the league & the Fever are using CC for her assist & how she pulls so many defenders from other players. The WNBA & Fever are killing their golden goose. Of course CC has to adjust to the stronger defenders she will meet in the WNBA, but I don't know how many rookies are getting double & triple teamed their first year either. And though she's a rookie, its just stupid for the Fever, a team that hasn't had more wins than losses since 2016, to get a player like CC & not let her be the main PG & run the plays. If they don't let her be the primary PG they will never figure out how to play to everyone's strengths. I don't care if they avg 20 TO a game while they figure out how to gel with her as PG. They're definitely not going to figure it out putting CC in the corner as a SG that no one ever passes to.

Blitzing, hedging on screens, doubling her when she catches the ball. I don't have a problem with doing any this if necessary to win the game. But that's not what's happening here. They want to quiet the hype. They're doing to her what LeBron James and D Wade did to Jeremy Lin to stop Linsanity or what Pippen and Jordan did to Toni Kukoc in the Olympics.

I have watched these first two games and the reality is that no one other than Caitlin Clark is being doubled and sometimes triple teamed - including the MVP players she has played against. These veterans would also have a hard time scoring if the opposing team was able to focus so many defenders on just them. Caitlin has also been taken out of the flow of the games by excessive foul calls against her in many cases with little or no contact while on the other end getting bodied relentlessly with no calls. Looks like an initiation to me - not “a tough transition” due to a step up in talent. Opponents against Iowa were not able to focus so many defenders on her as they are doing in the WNBA. The reality is that they know the rest of the Fever team is limited and they seem to be right.
