Pretty cool drive, in a way it is a shame that you cannot use a different brand card. Would have been nice that the drive would install the encryption software onto a different branded card, I understand why they do this, it is to ensure security. Great video Dave.

Great video, thanks. I'm going to order some USB dust covers & a datAshur Encrypted USB drive, but how do I store my passwords on it? Do I install a password manager on the device itself?

I would keep the password manager installed on your computer and use this for the library or vault data.

This seems more like something that would be useful for a person that has to have multiple sets of different encrypted information and use them on the fly. The read and write speeds are pretty bad when compared to even their 4 year old datashur pro and I don't trust the longevity of sd cards for important encrypted data. Also where are you going to be storing all these loose sd cards? Sounds like a nightmare to me. I'll just stick with the regular datashur pro or pro 2 models.

Are there separate pins for each card or there is one pin for dongle, no matter which card is inside?

How does this device Encrypt its self? Does it lock automatically when i unpug it or do i have to go through a menu to encrpyt, if so do i have to do it with windows? I ask because i wish to use it with a Android media box. Thanks in advance.

It is hardware encryption, the PIN code unlocks it.

Shame you didn't show us it in action. One thing I have to ask, is it right that you can only use SD cards branded by the same company and you can't use any other branded card like SanDisk or Samsung?

    Yes. Their branded cards only.

The most important question is the Security of the Data, AFTERALL........that is the entire reason to purchase one of these. How does it encrypt and secure the data. If the SD Card was Lost and someone found it - could they hack the card and eventually receive the data? Could they COPY the SD Card and brut force attack it until they recover the data????? Since the data is stored on the SD card, and the SD card is not sealed......it seems like it could eventually be recovered. Sounds like a great idea in theory but not confident it will actually work to "Secure" your data in the real world. More information is needed in order to make an EDUCATED decision.

Sorry I no longer have this to check, but the data should be inaccessible in another device.
