To repeat something I wrote yesterday: You can be critical of The U.S. President, but that doesn't mean you hate The United States. This is also true for The British Monarchy, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, & every other country's leaders. However, when someone is critical of The Israeli government they are labeled as being anti-Israel or anti-Jewish, which hurts any chance of an honest debate for issues the country has.

I wonder whether these stooges learned the "crossfire" word from Yasmin Porat. She was embarrassed to have to say on national radio that her fellow captives, including her husband were killed by Israelis, so she initially used the euphemism that they were killed "in the crossfire". It is worth remembering that the Israeli military did not just tell civilians to evacuate Northern Gaza. Yoav Gallant, the Israeli Minister of Defence, specifically announced that anyone who does not do so will be considered a Hamas supporter and a target. An announcement that Israel has no authority to do under the international laws of war, which specify who counts as a combatant and gives no belligerent power the authority to change the status of a person in that regard, or add unilateral conditions on what people must do to retain noncombatant status. To tell the entire civilian population to evacuate, under threat of lethal force, is a de jure and de facto act of ethnic cleansing.

That's what constantly frustrates me. Israel has the right to protect itself. What about Hamas? From my perspective they should have the same right. At least if we want follow coherent morality. Otherwise it's we can do it but they can't

@@angelikaskoroszyn8495 The other issue I have is people that paint all Palestinians as members of Hamas or blame the innocent civilians for not overthrowing Hamas as the governing body of Gaza but overlook the Illegal Jewish Settler and IDF violence of Palestinian civilians in the West Bank where Hamas is not in charge.

most the Israeli government and population come from abroad. one of the top army guys is Scottish. most the civilians are from UK/USA, I hear accents from everywhere. they pay people (with Jewish) a £50k subsidy to live in Israel, mostly in the illegal settlements, that's the only way in the long term for them to increase population and chip away at occupying Palestinian land so it eventually all becomes Israel. these people are paid $50k, given a free home and a well paid job on top. you think this guy was going to in their type of position on South Africa/Australia/wherever the fuck he came from. same as Mr Scotty senior military guy, he was not going to be top dude in the British military in a million years. when they are given riches, and significant statuses when they were previously working in Amazon warehouses, they will not want to give it up easily.

I had a boyfriend once who happened to be a New York Jew and he was offered a job as a physicist in South Africa at a university in 1972. He took the job, but backed out at the last minute when he was offered a one year contract at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He was very liberal in his opinions and got into trouble for it in Texas and in Newfoundland and Labrador. I asked him once how he thought his opinions would be found out in apartheid South Africa . He replied, "They could tell by the curl in my lip." You can tell a lot from Jake's expression here, too.

Israel doesn't seem to understand how strongly all of us is connected as humans. With what they have done, they have killed cousins, nephews, relatives, friends of people around the world including their own. We all lost someone in Palestine and as everything unfolds or the fogs of war settle, so many people will ask for justice.
