12:20 That is very nice, but as the Palestinian interviews showed on this channel, most Palestinians interviewed do not even support the existence of Israel, they seek its destruction & believe in Palestinian exceptionalism**. But if that changed, it would work. **Because all lands in the whole world were conquered at some point. Should Muslims give Istanbul back to the Christians, or so much other lands? Of course not, because everyone else (other than Palestinians who maintain this belief) move on & sacrifice resentment & control for peace.

Basically, look at the Palestinian interviews on this channel. Almost all of them are saying "any chance we get. we will seek the destruction of Israel". It isn't like other cultures who were not taught Exceptionalism & entitlement to the same degree. Like I said, would you demand Muslims to give Constantipole back, or so much more? Of course not. Most lands have been conquered at some point, including by Muslims.

@@lampoyo You seem to have written a few comments to me, and either there is a bug or you deleted them. Just clarifying: Look, as I think I said, I may have bad data, but that channel is one that appears pretty balanced. I note that most of the responses assumed what I said - it wasn't often said explicitly. As for bias - I grew up with pro-palestinian media - it was the exact opposite for me. I am not pro-Palestinian OR pro-Israel, and I feel that people who take sides (instead of attempting an ethically consistent & practical position) are enabling the conflict to go on forever.

That's why I support a one-state solution. At least a temporary one-state solution. All palestinian and israeli children ought to be going to the same schools together, schools with both palestinian and israeli teachers. They shouldn't be educated/brainwashed separately, they should be educated together. That's the solution to the conflict, to breed a generation of palestinian and israeli children who grow up together, get to play together, get to know each other and just don't get taught to hate one another.

The hilarious irony of this conflict is you'd think that two people who were both kicked out of their homeland and just want to return to where they came from could empathize with eachother and find a way to live together. I think the Israelis are there to be honest. The animosity is mostly coming from the Palestinian side.

  • @mortenrobinson

    @mortenrobinson

    3 жыл бұрын

@@trollnerd you can hardly say that the Israelis have been kicked out of their homeland. The modern day Israelis stole that land from the arabs. That's just a fact! Some jewish folk were exiled more than 2000 years ago by the romans, but a lot of things happen in 2000 years, especially to a people that is constantly migrating. Modern day Israelis are not exclusively descended from the jews who were exiled from Israel, they are descended from various different peoples. There is a reason why jews from Africa are black, why jews from central and northern Europe are white, why jews from Asia range from indian traits to epicanthal folds and so on. Any israeli looking back 2000 years would find that only a small percentage of their ancestors were jews exiled by the romans. They would even find that they are in fact ALSO descended from the romans who invaded the region back then. Israelis are not native to that region today! The palestinians are. And the palestinian exile didn't happen more than 2000 years ago, it happened like yesterday and is in fact still ongoing. Btw, all non-african peoples have a history in that region. The ancestors of all non-african peoples migrated out of Africa at some point in time, and they ALL came through the holy land because that is the only way out of Africa. They came through that region way way before there were any jews and anything called judaism.

Saying the settlements are a cancer in the conflict is retarded, "Palestine" doesn't allow Jews in so the only way in is through settlements, just think about Hebron, An original Jewish city with Jewish ancient graves, thinking that would be under Arab anti semitic rule is naive, Just because the UN made declarations (that the Arabs declined anyways) doesn't mean the UN made any sense when it came down to it, the fact is the "palestinians" are the only ones stopping the peace agreement from occurring, An agreement can come any day when they decide they respect Jews living on the same land as they do.

luay Guevara It's easy to talk about peace when you're the one in power with the advantage. The kid is living in a settlement illegally taken from its Palestinian owners and is talking about how everyone needs to be educated and peaceful. Take that into a different scenario. You have a house, someone comes in, forces you to leave and then starts telling you to be peaceful when you're trying to take back your rightful property. Then the media paints him as the good guy for trying to be peaceful and resolve the situation (which ends in him keeping YOUR house and YOUR land while you get nothing) and they paint you as a terrorist and a fanatic for wanting your rightful property back. Both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are wrong. They both commit horrors, and it's a very hard subject to civilly discuss, but I find it very hard to agree with someone saying he is right and other people are wrong while living in an illegally-appropriated settlement.

So basically their proposal is in most cases 2 state solution where every Palestinian must have a helicopter if he wants to travel longer than 10 kilometers??? Yes, we can all agree that Israelis are just mentioning 2 state solution because they know that it is impossible because of the settlements. That is just a cover story to keep the expansion going. If they really want 2 states they would give some proposal that is not totally unacceptable, and where Palestinians would live like a human beings. That can only happen if there is no walls and checkpoints on Palestinian side. There are currently roads in the West Bank where (if you are Palestinian) you travel about 25 km for 5-6 hours.

Because they have no desire to live in peace with Israel (like the Egyptian wanted Peace) . At the end, the Palestinians has many opportunities to have a state and they declined all of them. The Palestinians people as a culture, historically always have been occupied. Even their given name "Palestinian" was given by occupations that changed over history. But that name was given to both local Arabs and Jewish who always co-existed on that land. The only difference that happened in 1948 is that there was enough migration of Jewish people from around the world that brought and invested enough resources to build a government and a nation. Many Arabs chose to stay and now considered Israeli Arabs. Many chose to go to war and still call themselves Palestinians. I think today's Palestinians lack the education and knowledge of their own history. Many Israelis do to, they are taught to love their country but not respect the Palestinian right to coexist as well. While Palestinians today are taught that this land is their's only and does not belong to Jewish people as well. But at the core of their majority they don't have the capacity to build a civilized nation and a government, they never had at no point in history. Education is the key and the very first step for both sides to begin to acknowledge and respect each other enough to start a practical and a realistic conversation. How we go about it in a a way that ensures the safety and cooperation of all the people that's a whole another conversation.

Sadly there is no human solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Palestinians would like to go back to the pre-1948 borders, meaning they get every inch of modern-day Israel and want the "colonizing Jews" to leave and go back to the lands from where they came from. That's never going to happen! Israel on multiple occasions agreed to give up the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem but it's never enough for them. Therefore, only Messiah will bring peace.

And in response, the British troops killed 5 Jews in Tel Aviv and injured others. There were also riots in British cities against Jewish communities. What the Irgun did was an act of terror to weaken the British soldiers moral it was strategic and organized. Much different. Im not trying to necessarily say the Irgun were evil or any thing i'm just trying to put the old man comments in context. Do you then also acknowledge they are both Exceptionalism, both entitled positions? My position is that it doesn't matter what dead people did, it matters to create something good today. if someone is born in country X, then they belong there. I don't support the idea of a person having racial or religious guilt or resentment or entitlement based on what other people did of the group. Esp if they are long dead. Do you support that?

Turns out we are both descended from Prince John, the brother of Richard the Lionheart. Great. Nice story bro. But it really means nothing to me today. Even my grandparents. Idk. They're dead, they're gone. Spiritual ancestry however does mean something. To be in the land of the founders of your religion. Those whose stories and lives are told of in your book. That to me means more than any blood relation. Israel, alike Mecca, is a religious city. Israel is a land for Jews, not Israelis. If I was the prime minister I'd probably reject an applicant who was descended from King David himself if he was a Buddhist. I mean. There would be other implications in the decision, but he'd rank lower than someone who'd just converted to Judaism and whose ancestry was all contained within Japan.

It's such a complicated subject that realistically "conversations" doesn't solve and after diving a lot in this subject, i simply believe there is no solution where both would be satisfied even if peace is established permanently the grudges and hatred will not disappear for a few generations and the damage will never be restored and they are in fact now the new jews, injustice wise.

Israel offered the Palasinians a real chance to astablish a state but unfortunatly, the Palastinians inv3sted only in tunnels and rockets.. The us army and nato wiped out entire vilages upon their people, that happend in Iraq also. Not to mention Russia in Ukraine. I don't believe one country can keep occupying more of other countries' land just because it won the war. For example, China fought against Vietnam and India before, and Chinese army went deep into Vietnamese and Indian border, but China drew back! I just can't understand why Israelis think they have the right to keep taking more land.

While he called the settlements a "cancer", he did not recognise that some of the hate from the Palestinian side is due to this cancer that the Israeli state has bred so it is not only education that is needed on both sides bit also action in recognition that there is a cause and effect with everything and in order to modify the effect, education dictates that we rectify the cause. Peace is the child of justice and there can be no lasting peace if it is not based on absolute justice.

This is no longer a question of who had first rights to the lands. As far as I'm concerned you should not have the right to govern it if you can't prove yourself otherwise. There was no "illegal occupation". Jews are historically and religiously connected to the land of Israel and Jerusalem as its capital. No one goes to Saudi Arabia telling Muslims they do not belong In Mecca and Medina, so same goes for Jerusalem to the Jews. You may read it in the bible, the holy book which was stolen and converted by Islam and Christianity and laid the foundations to the current day civilization. Read "Haj Amin Al Huseini" on Wikipedia for more information. Good luck.

I hate to make this comparison because they are incredibly different but the same problem exists in Northern Ireland, Even if England gave Eire the northern counties there are scores of people that want to stay with UK and not be part of the republic. Its too complicated . One thing may work and that's to mix the schools and let the hate become diluted through generations until no one cares anymore. But that might solve a kind of surface peace sure but it doesn't solve ownership of the region. That's why its even more difficult regarding Israel because of both sides claim plus logistical difficulties.
