@@laithmughrabi8990 ????? i'm gonna assume you're talking about the university protests, i'm currently an undergraduate student at the university of melbourne and i (was) friends with people who were part of the protests. Protesting is fine, there's nothing illegal about it, the university is public land. HOWEVER, there have been thousands of dollars of damages at the university because of the student activists, and many Jewish students felt intimidated by the protests. The only people who are in trouble are the organisers and the people who disrupted normal classes running by taking control of a building in the university. Everyone else faced no punishment. You can protest all you want, it's just facing the consequences of your own actions that you think is "freedom of protest". Conservatives do the exact same thing with freedom of speech. Some famous dude might say a slur and when they get cancelled they're l;ike "fredeom of speech is dead" when they're only facing the consequences of their own actions. have a nice day.

Surely the AIJAC lobby must be joint at the hip with ASPI, the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, Australia's biggest defence industry lobby.. BAE systems has a factory in Melbourne from which it has long produced parts for missiles used by Israel. French military company Thale has a factory in Bendigo, surely they must be sending parts or vehicles to Israel. From what i know of there are atleast 10 Australian companies directly producing & sending weapons components alone to Israel. Then there's all the other exports.. All of that will have AIJAC lobby interest.. But the greatest Australian sourced Israel lobby influence of all is Frank Lowy. Not only is Frank Lowy among Australia's richest billonaires. But he was a member of the Haganah Militia during the Nakbah. But not only that, he is such a prominent Zionist, with so many connections to other Zionist billionaires of interest. That it was actually him who reccommended Tony Blair to various lords to be promoted throiugh politics & ultimately into the role of British PM. Specifically to serve a role to boost Israel. And of course we know that Blair is a war criminal. Well it was largely Israeli & Mossaad lobbying that encouraged the Iraq war.. Frank Lowy was one of the major lobbyists that lead to this.. If you actually pay close attention to Australia's political landscape, you'd recognize that there are influence groups in Australia with opaque connections to foreign governments/entities from all across the world. Plenty of these group's resist being registered as agents of foreign influence, and plenty of these groups evade penalties for doing so. It's just that many of these influence groups are often overlooked and ignored, by both the public and government, as much of public attention in Australia has gone solely towards groups with connections to the American, Chinese and Israel governments. The reason being that the actions of America and China pose the biggest geopolitical implications for Australia, and Israel has garnered large amounts of attention due to the recent outbreak of fighting in Gaza. The result is that plenty of people in Australia are aware of the hidden hands of America or China showing up in so-called 'research institutes' such as ASPI or ACRI, but barely anyone seems to mention anything about the untransparent actions of groups connected to regions such as India or the Middle East.

@@jamesclarke2789 In America we have a law that such institutions must register as a “Foreign Influence Group” AIPAC is the largest and most influential group that fits the legal definition yet over a decade later they still refuse to register and are the only group to consistently not receive any of the legally mandated fines and punishments in America. Sure there are technically other groups that also don’t register, but they are all significantly smaller and have infinitely less influence. I’m not an Aussie but even in your country it seems extremely obvious that they’re exhibiting the same behaviors. AIPAC is not a small influence either, nearly all Republican Congressman and Congresswoman have some connections to them. Recently a Congressman even said that the whole party has “liaisons” with AIPAC for publicity and “donations”. IDK the truthfulness of his claims but they seem to be truthful based on party voting habits.

As an American Jew, the last 9 months have been a painful and terrifying awakening for me. I knew Israel was generally considered the problem child of our family, but we didn't learn this stuff in Hebrew school. I truly had no idea of the magnitude of these issues until the last 9 months - and it's been horrifying to me. Most of Israel's actions are strongly in conflict with my Jewish values, and that places me in a difficult position. But I'm realizing that, if I have to pick between loyalty to Israel and loyalty to my Jewish values, I pick the latter. So I'm doing what I can to push Israel to reform - and it's demoralizing to see how far things have slipped. It's easy to feel hopeless in the face of such widespread acceptance of Israel's transgressions. Especially when, one day, I'd want to have a relationship with a version of Israel I could be proud of. But I know that day won't come unless we fight to make it better than it is today.

@@perplexedon9834 I heard it described by someone who was supposed to administer it as this: if when we needed to go to hospital, we had to organise our own hospital bed, doctors, anaesthetist etc without the hospital doing that. That’s the NDIS. And as has been seen it has been completely open to criminals simply stealing the money. In my opinion no public company should have access to government money and that includes child and aged care. The government should run the services themselves not open the cookie jar without any oversight. Colin Barnett was right not to sign up to the NDIS. Another result is that services that were quite easy to access are impossible to get such as OT. They only want the NDIS dollar or aged care dollar. People like my son who has issues can’t get an appointment. Then we have all the highly functioning people who now apparently are ‘autistic’ getting money to continue their normal lives. So that is my reply!

It's not managed great and only worsening. It's existence also inadvertently removed protections for others by becoming the policy standard for how certain services are funded. People I know with various disabilities, who ordinarily recieved certain supports (mobility aids, access to certain affordable care) due to their status as pensioners/health care card holders etc were turned away as they did not qualify for the NDIS for minor technicalities even tho they have well documented and specialist recommendations for such supports and could now not access this services unless they paid hundreds of dollars. When these people, who qualify for the disability pension which is incredibly rigorous, try to apply for the NDIS, it's a difficult process that excludes lots of people, who despite their disabilities now fall through the cracks of what has now become an exclusionary system. Yes it helps people, I can't deny the good it does them. But its also robbed many people I know of the support they used to have access to before it was created, that made their lives more bearable and helped them still engage in society on some level. With the cost of living crisis, I know at least one of those people has to forego getting her specialised aids because she's been rejected by the NDIS mutliple times despite providing all the apropriate evidence. People who dont fit their specific criteria of 'disabled' now have to come up with the funds themselves, despite often being too ill to work. It's interesting people have the impression they are being taken advantage of by people gaming the system/lying; their bigger crime to me is abandoning the people who are truthful and are begging for help.

I don't actually think that. If you think about something like protesting and boycotting, it is a form of organised lobby to change legislation. I think there is a distinction to be made because there are people trying to ban protesting and so forth. Lobbying is ultimately a way that interest groups including, for example, climate change awareness, of particular groups of people are represented. I think, however, ALL lobbying should be disclosed and it shouldn't involve direct bribes and gifts, like trips

We have one in New Zealand. I haven't heard much about them lately because i stopped following news on corporate media decades ago, but even then I would still encounter them regularly in the correspondence columns, which I did keep up with until it became impossible to put my own opinion without it being edited to mislead.

I figured it out when Australian's weren't allowed to be patriotic or love everything Australian without personal attacks and smears usually Leftwing propaganda by the (((mainstream media outlets))) even so called Right wings ones are controlled opposition these days... We a serf kingdom for them and they actually want anglo Australian's dead.. To help Red China take over Australia from within.. It's a sad and tragic situation as all Australian's had no say in our serfdom to foreign governments and when the 💩 hits the fan.. Australia will be a bargaining chip for the bigger countries as Red China eventually takes over most of South East Asia + the Indo Pacific... I've seen the future for Australia and it's nothing but treachery by our so called allies and extermination for the Anglo Australian populations.. If anyone is Anglo Australian with children also, You should relocate to South America or Indonesia if they manage to survive the destruction from within or future Invasions from Red China..

@kjmax1068 America under President Trump should not be a problem. But I have probably travelled there enough. At 65 if I travel again Russia and Turkey would be my chosen destinations.
