As for the second round, anybody with a brain can see that he baited Pereira to the cage and then countered him beautifully to knock him out. If you have ears you can hear Eugene tell Israel that Pereira is falling for everything moments before. Which is why Adesanya then took him to the cage and waited for him to unleash his mindless combinations before shutting his lights out.

Benôit Saint-Denis is about to fight Poirier and if he wins that will put him in the top 3. That's how you earn your place. When you've done what Izzy has done he doesn't have to respond to call outs. Strategically he should see who manages to actually defend the belt a few times. Build somewhat of a legacy then come back and take the crown. Same thing Bones has done except Bones never lost. Whatever Izzy choses to do i will support and watch #ThatFanLife

He has been super active these last 3 years. Maybe a fight at the end of the year is the soonest he'll come back. Unless UFC throws a ton of money at him for UFC 300

So styles makes fights...I think Izzy's style and DDP's style will favor Izzy tremendously, Izzy's long range jab and ability to be a slick counter puncher with movement will actually give Izzy the opportunities to find the KO.

Idk its 50/50 DDP can wrestle Izzy and might have better success in that area....those takedowns gain points more than striking at times. Control time and grappling can be an issue

​​@@entertainer-p7385Adesanya has a very strong takedown defence and his stance isn't upright like Strickland's, which allows him to sprawl or get leverage against the cage to prevent the takedown. Israel also has 80" reach which Du Plessis will have to get past and he doesn't appear to have the footwork to close the distance quick enough to allow him then shoot the takedown. He'll have to set them up constantly if he is to have any success with that.

The storylines shaped up nicely, time to go get that gold back baby!

The take downs from DDP and Zero Takes from Sean swung the fight in DDP's favor, as this is MMA. DDP's cardio and work rate was impressive and has definitely improved!! Sean was not engaging and going forward as much due to the power being swung at him. StyleBender has been one of my favorite fighters to ever grace the MMA world. As a South African that cannot afford to travel overseas i watch these fights Live at extremely early hours of the morning, i have followed Adesanya's journey since 2017. It will be an amazing opportunity for the fans, to see this fight (between The Last Stylebender vs Stillknocks) grace the African continent.

Control time barely scores in MMA. Damage is the most important, effective grappling like attempting submissions is second and control time would be 3rd and just landing takedowns doesnt really matter unless you can turn it into control time or effective grappling . What Dricus won off of was his harder shots. A bunch of weak shots can get basically erased if that person gets tagged with a heavy shot.

I'm so happy for Dricus I can't even explain it. I'm from Eastern Africa, and I know what he said about being the first African to reside & train in Africa to become champion or whatever. I know how hard it is to make a living to train in some parts of Africa because it's hard to live daily sometimes let alone live there sacrificing a better life for your loved ones that they can have in better developed countries. If I was still in Africa, I believe I had a good chance of dying there.... So.... I took it as heavy disrespect to indigenous Africans but hey! I actually almost cried when he won firstly because I think Sean is a toxic soul, and because I can feel the love he has for his country & Africa. Impossible to hate on it.
