I thought I was unfamiliar with this guy, and then I was trying to tell my mom about what I was "learning"... about the "creation of Islam"... from this video, about a professor from Chicago studying arabic texts in Germany and Vienna, and then my mom asks "Is it Fred Donner? Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. Allah is just a smoke screen because muhammad came up with such a lot of revelations on his own. Like the three that umar al Khatami came up with, suddenly muhammad said it was revelation.

The big problem with a lot of the archived materials is the missing digitalisation and online availability for everybody. This slows down the research worldwide. The decision to rather spend billions on other projects is taken by governments and the archive custodians. Some simply want to keep a control and power. To humiliate humans who must surrender and crawl on the doorsteps of their treasure vaults. With lengthy procedures and appointments. Nothing of this will be required if the stuff they hoard since centuries is finally made accessible in a dignifying fashion appropriate for a 21st century. And that these archive prison guards show more respect and less arrogance towards the millions of smart humans who will be able to discover far more in the collections than what a jealous bureaucratic hoarder will be able to read out between his coffee pauses, lunch times and holidays. Not to forget here that restrictions due to copy rights and cash grabbing business of state owned archives have to be terminated. For the sake of human right to its past without kisses to the feet of the archive priesthood.

The first part of it, makes no sense, and as for the second part, modern 20th century science proves the very existence of God, as these numerous scientific discoveries are present in the Quran. God created everything in existence , the Universe and all that's in it. Science is just a human word given to a human explanation to limited himan knowledge of our existence. Correct me if i am wrong!! As far as i know, In the Quran, there was a very clear distinction given between the believers(muslims) and Non muslims(christians and jews) who were referred to as “the people of the book”. There is literally a list of traits for a person to be a rightfull believer mentioned in the Quran itself.

All others are Kafirs and Kafirs can live only if they pay Jizia. The other option is death by a Sword. People like you either knowingly spread a wrong information to pain Islam in a palatable form. Islam is not a religion per Se. It is a Militant Political Ideology. There is no place for Spirituality or Humanity in Islam.

Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" When Europeans co-opted Jesus and made their iconography into their ideal: blond haired blue eyes fair skinned, the Prophet Muhammad grew from the same Abrahamic roots to appeal to a different population, one who had the background and traditions to appeal to a different population. I believe there have been many Prophet and saints. Zoroaster, Krishna, Gilgamesh, and countless others lost to time. God did not ignore the peoples of Asia, South America, Indonesia, China, Russia for millennia. He appeared to them and through their prophets and saints. The Baghavad Gita specifically explains how it’s easier for people to connect with an incarnation of Divinity than it is to worship the Oneness, the Unity of everything. For the peoples of the Middle East the Prophet Muhammad is that incarnation of Divinity. That’s what my belief and opinion is.

All these mainstream religions come from a time when scientific understanding was so poor that for example ‘witches’ were burned alive for causing hail storms, and people were possessed with the devil when in reality they were suffering from epilepsy. So… let’s take all these religious with a humongous pinch of salt shall we. Admitting there is no god, examining evolutionary biology, comprehending the vastness and coldness of the universe, understanding how long it took life to evolve (millions of years, millions and millions of years) facing your fears and the harsh cold realities that life is a fluke - is the true enlightenment, rather than burying your head in sand with religions.

I stopped after the first six minutes. Incredibly superficial and missing pivotal details. Hard to believe theis shortage is because of time limitations. I will mentioned only three of my remarks here: 1- the major religious stream in Mecca was the belief of Ibrahim (Abraham). The people of Mecca believed in the one God. However, many of them had distorted views of the one God and worshipped him differently. 2- Prophet Mohammed was a descendant of Ibrahim and one of the minority that didn't go astray. 3-Prophet Mohammed, like all messengers of god before him, never claimed to be a founder of a new belief, rather, commanded to reform the original belief, and his message complements this belief to be a comprehensive way of life.

The "lawyer'' at 1 hour 11 minute mark couldn't ask a simple and clear question when given 2 chances to do so.

At 31:36. There is a clear distinction between Muslim (Islam) and Mu'min (Iman). They are not interchangeable. There is also a third term, Ihsan. So the three terms are Islam, Iman, Ihsan. Without getting into technical details, one can say that they are three levels of one's spiritual status with God, Ihsan being the highest. These terms are not used randomly in the Qur'an, and they have not come to mean/signify anything different over time. I am surprised Mr. Donner is not aware of the ample literature available on the subject.

muslim means a person who submits to God, Islam means submission (has other meanings such as peace), Mu'min means believer, iman means faith. These are all different words.

The reason some of the Meccans didn't want to convert is not because it means their forefathers were in Hell. Rather, it doesn't mean their forefathers are in Hell. Since they did not receive revelation, they couldn't be judged according it, so they will be judged primarily according to their deeds. Rather, the Meccans didn't like how it threatened their monopoly on the pilgramage.

Why ignore the fact that oral tradition was the common way of communication and "documentation", the proof is the most popular literary genre if the time was poetry that survived until today. Islam was bringing change but you can't expect illeterate people to document everything from the beginning because some western historians are expecting to find some manuscripts from that era.

​@@ldahmyi think we shouldn't be harshly judging his studies because,this man i studying old stuff without a bias. So he is only speaking on the basis of his study, so let him study. And his study isnt about preaching islam so we dont need to follow that. And the party of him saying muslims fight eachother all time , is true. Although we believe in the same religion, we argue on the basis of madhabs/ sects and a lot of stuff. There are sects which are even banned from Saudi Arabia, because they have concepts that are so messed up that, normally they aren't even muslims anymore. You also have shias who have scholars who even discard hadiths and even claim adulteration of the Quran. Iam not sure about the term islam ,coz i have never studied that( as its too small of a matter to give importance), so i will study on that too.

@@mahbubellahi9191 I appreciate your answer here but I think to say that other sects are so "messed up" is the whole basis he is trying to explain here, all he is saying is that we have been fed one sided and biased narratives that have changed so much since the life of our prohpet that muslims are blindly accepting hadith and history that may not be true at all, for example the term Muslim and Islam were also mentioned in the early covenants of the jews and christians....we can't accept hadith in the same manner as the Quran. Hadith even when completely 'sahih' has been narrated in almost a chinese whisper methodology and when comparing two same narrations by different narrators it's clear to see there was no consensus on some key information between the narrators, just proving the point that Hadith is a good foundation but should not be used to narrate history from a historians pov due to the sheer biases. You aren't to know which sect is really messed up and which is truly on the right path from these hadith as they are subjective. JaazakAllah

What exactly does dín mean? Does it connote a fixed set of rules and a historical community that adheres to it? How then can both Muhammad and Ibrahim be Muslims, when they lived in separate time periods? Is dín then a certain way of behaving, a way? Then you could translate as: The way with God is submitting (unto him).

You would think such a scholar would give more insight on Muhammed. Just a perusal of where he was from and how he came about the visions and book. There are known facts that give a more vilified view of the "prophet". It would be interesting and beneficial to hear more about the man and what happened via the facts, how he proceeded/progressed with his first wife and family and his leaving and his marriage to the rich widow. His shunning of her after coming to power and marrying "ayesha" at 6 years old and consummating that marriage when she was 9, according to the qur'an.

It is very hard to give that sort of insight with any kind of certainty, as most religious characters and their founders, as depicted in the various holy books of the religion itself, are typically very detached from actual real history. This applies to all "abrahamic" religions present still today.

If you tell an average Christian, that none of the sayings or deeds of Jesus can be traced to an actual historical figure, they don't take too kind to that sort of stuff. Nor do Jews (at least the religious kind), when you tell them their exodus never _actually_ happened, nor did their Moses _actually_ even exist. So, while I agree that there's a lot more room for "human error" and "interpretation" and such, a very "literal" meaning to the stories at the core is at least to some degree present in all three.

@Asadul Hasan Rasel Carbon dating is not an efficient method in aging. One of the 3 labs decided that these manuscripts go back to before muhamad birth. Bart Erhman admits in his book misquoting Jesus that the few translations/copying mistakes he found do not affect any of the basic Christianity believes such as the Holy Trinity, that Jesus is our ONLY LORD/GOD, his birth, his death on the Holy Cross, his resurrection. Only few Human typos and extremely few mistranslated words over about 4000 years of narration & 2000 of translations. The Birmingham copy is not the complete quran just a few pages of it.

@Asadul Hasan Rasel Every item carbon-dated is done in 3 different labs at the same time and each one of them dates such items differently than the other two labs. Each lab is very sure that his results are the best among the three different results. Try it yourself, take a piece of wood, leather, papers, fabric, pottery, etc.. without telling them the age of such item and let them age it. You will see, by yourself, that they will age it few hundred (maybe thousand) years old although it is a new item. Also, don't count on the BBC documentaries. BBC is fake media and almost 100% run by atheists/leftists who are financed by the British government.

For me roman Catholic the information explains the diversity of Islam believed across the planet and why the Saudi version gets the most traction in certian regions. The Koran and even Sahih Al bukhari und Sahih Muslim are more historical documents than your bible. we aint even sure who actually wrote your gospels, they are affected to Mathew, John, Marcus, Peter without even any evidence. The new testament doesnt support your triniarian belief which is a catholic dogm, like Eucharisty, Baptism, Papa etc.. you have contradictions in stories of "Jesus presenting himself to Paul" who toke it as proof of his mission to change(corrupt) the christian belief from within and insert some strange beliefs like "the alt law doenst apply to you" "Eat what you want" "dont circumcize" etc.. and the dogm of "God is died for your sins, you just have to believe in him and you are saved"-... 18:15 by the way, the conquest was possible because of the bloodiest war ever between Byzantine and Sasanid Empire right before the Arab invasion. Persia was in ruin at that moment. East Roman Empire managed to repel Arab attacks since it was about to win war against Sasanid.

Read chapter rum chapter 30. It talks about romans(rum) and sassanids and how the defeat will happen within few years. Prophet Muhammad was the greatest leader ever BECUASE not only did he come with a message of god but he lead and was a general of an army that become the superpower.

@@Achill101 yes even tho he died before the great expansion but he was the power force behind uniting all of Arab tribes resulting in the power they had. For example in a saying he said verily we shall conquer Constantinople what a great leader it will be and what a great army that army will be. During his time and for the next 600-800 years it was unimaginable to even think about Constantinople but finally in 1400s it was taken. Chapter rum (30) it says Roman’s have been defeated in nearby land but within 3-9 years they will triumph and exactly that happened Roman’s relapsed and took triumph. I’m not arguing with you. About the climate question ~1:10-1:13. The years 535-536 saw the most extreme climate the last 2000 years, probably from vulcanic eruption. This affected communities in the north more thought, maybe 50% of population in Scandinavia starved to death, than in the ME. Furthermore, there is no need to seek for climate catastrophe. @@muhammedali2578 The question I was commenting. Was speculating about a destabalizing climate catastrophe paving the way for the Arab explosion. My answer is that no such climate catastrophy is necessary. The war between the Sassanid Empire and the Roman Empire depleted their resouces. But more importantly, delegitimized them in the Levant. The war seesawed back and forth, back and forth, across the Levant. First the Sassanids sacking a city. Then a year after, the Romans sacking that city. Then the Sassanids sacking and massmurdering again. I believe that this terrible war made many people in the Levant feel an utter disgust with these two outside powers that devastated THEIR region but were not based there. So, this is a much better explanation than a climate catastrophe. The early battles described in Muslim tradition are neither here nor there for this particular question. They do not affect the discussion about the conditions that preceded for the rise of Islam/the Arab empire. The early battles from Muslim tradition describe the actual process of the establishment of the rule of Islam / the Arab Empire. So, different question.

Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them. (19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).. I recommend him to read surah maidah 5:3 it clearly states what the name of our religion is. The quantity of how many times mumeen is mentioned doesnt make it the name of the religion. Mohammed pbuh is mentioned only 5 times. Still we consider him the most important prophet. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression, Allah is indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

Thanks to him for describing the arduous process of earlier hadith scholars sorting out the hadith collections.

They are Mt. Scopus and Mt. Moriah in Jerusalem. Who puts Marwa and Safa at Jerusalem, the very names that Muslims think are mountains in Saudi Arabia? Josephus, the 1st century historian. Jahannam in the Quran is Gehenna, where the apocalypse is suppose to take place. Bakkah in the Quran is mentioned in the Bible as a rest stop to Jerusalem. Islam at it's core is based on Judeo-Christian traditions but heavily distorted by political factors where Muslims have no idea where their religion comes from. They think it came from a prophet named Muhammad but if you notice in the Quran, you get no real information about Muhammad as prophet but you come across Jesus plenty of times. The Dome of Rock inscriptions is about Jesus with no information who is MHMD as an individual but when you consider the subject matter, MHMD is most certainly Jesus. Jesus is the messenger of Allah. The Christology of Jesus matches well with Nestorian Christology that Jesus has two full natures and they are not intermixed. The historical "Islamic Muhammad" of the Arab conquests, at best, was Walid ibn Khalid, who was called Al Farooq, the Redeemer, the Savior, the one who divides between good , and bad, also known as Umar. Contemporary sources put "Islamic Muhammad" at the wrong place and at the wrong time.

@@koroglurustem1722 how are they half-baked? You don't make any sense. It is pretty clear that Muhammad of Islam was invented 2 centuries later. Invented with many hadiths and siras and the scholars wettled down the material to create Islam. Muhammad the miracle man in Sahih Muslim to Gnostic Muhammad who existed before Adam. The Dome of Rock is dedicated to Jesus. It tells a full narrative of Jesus the prophet. There is no Islamic Muhammad in it. There is no angel Gabriel, the caves of Hira, none of that. It is all Jesus.

It says in the quran: Q 5:3 (This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” ) so its not something that was randomly chosen by some people from 8th century as he said, its clear in the verse that Allah gave this religion a name and mentioned it in the Quran. Some people are not true what they research. And definitely most of what he says is untrue.

Why don't you use the actual text from the Quran? It states that the Quran was written by the noble scribes on the parchment paper. So it was written at the time of Muhammmad's life.

The guy did not know about the Birmingham manuscript plus he never read the Quran.

He must have carried out such a thorough n rigorous study on his field. Not to mention the evidence in him that his pronunciation in Arabic is as good as his in English. Regardless the real value of his finding, this is truly inspiring n encouraging.

Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" Being a Muslim i need to clear a few misconceptions here. 1)Islam is what this religion was called from the start. It is clearly referenced in quran as the name of this religion. 2)Momin is a term for pious or Good mualim. So not every muslim is a momin but every momin is a muslim. Take it as an elite group of mualims. 3) khalif is the orignal term as Fist successor of the Prophet Muhammad( peace be uopn him) , Abu bakr was called Khalefa tul Rasool.. meaning successor of the prophet. 2nd successor Umar was called Amer Ul Momineen( head of the pious muslims) out of convenience since it was not practical to call him sucessor to the successor of the prophet.

Sure ! You wrote the current dogma, defined by the Abbassids. The very early arab believers were having another dogma. They were a sort of not rabbinic jews following an anti chalcedonic christianity, precisely Nasaras, arabs Nasaras. Nasara doest stand for Christian. Yes. Surah Ar-ra'd (the thunder) 13:28, says "Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah: for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction". This is saying that in THE REMEMBERANCE OF ALLAH the heart finds rest (satisfaction, serenity, tranquility). How do you remember Allah? That's by remembering him through the recitation of the Quran, which means that the verses revealed to Prophet Muhammad from the very beginning was recited over and over thus knowing every word and line (Ayah) by heart. And this is how the Quran was preserved from the very beginning as the revelations began, so they were not forgotten. Today millions of Muslims around the world continues this tradition of memorizing the Quran by heart, even though after the Prophet (saw) death when it was written down for teaching and taking it to other nations.

The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. IIRC the "transcript" that you see as subtitles is generated while the video is running. For this video, sometimes it's comically bad - better not to rely on it, but use it only to follow coarsely.

I wish there were more slides. The blue hair makes it hard to focus 😴

That brief joke the gentelman made about God speaking Arabic ...Tells me he is not familiar with the Arabic Language . الجعل ،والانزال جعل ونزل Two verbs describing the event of turning the message into an understandable Arabic language from a prior (different ) formula.

@@786humaira1 Judaism and Christianity has nothing to do with Islam, the pagan religion of the Arab tribes. So their god "Allah" is not the same god of the Jews and christians, "YAHWEH". It is a lie started by the muslims that these gods are same and their religion also belong to the same semitic group of religion .They have stolen some of the stories from the Jewish and Christian scriptures and started their religion. Christians and Jews have a entirely different theology and the old testament of the christians and the Tanakh of the Jews are the same. Koran contains some distorted stories lifted here and there from their two holy scriptures( Old testament of the christians which is the same as the Tanakh of the Jews and the New testament of the christians)

@@joythomasvallianeth6013 It's quite simple, God revield revelation to different prophets, and those messages were then changed and corrupted(which we have PLENTY of evidence of), so then God decided to correct the corruption by sending another revelation to his last and final prophet. That's why the bible and the Quran have some similarities and differences, it's becasue one was revield then corrupted, then the other was sent to correct the coruption. The Question to be asked is, which is the true word of God, once we prove which is the TRUE word of God, then whatever that one says is what we believe.

None of them are the true words of God. Its so OBVIOUS they are the words of infant humanity trying to keep each other under control. Back then they couldnt even organise an orgy in a brothel! The promise of heaven - or money - was the only reward that could convince them to build as a team without killing each other. A self glorifying reward is still the prime motivator today even for the non religious.

Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. In fact, I have a genuine understanding of religions, especially Islam. This, because I have grown up in a Muslim society and when i was a kid I learned how to read Quran. I have studied the history of Islam, and I have examined religions (not only Islam) as part of my education which is Anthropology of religion. My conclusion which is related to this discussion is, there is no religion, but religious people. Let me elaborate on this. As you mentioned there groups of Muslims who misrepresent the religion. The case is those also believe that peaceful people like you misrepresent the religion. For a third person, who is the real Muslim? Which one is real Islam? This problem exist for all other religions as well. It is said that there are 39 000 different Christian sects. Obviously each on of those believe they have the right religion and all other are mistaken. My point is, we cannot find a clear and unambiguous definition of the concept of religion, and not such for any religions people have believed in, during the course of history. I mean there is no such definition that all Muslims unanimously accept. Then we come to what is a real matter: All religious people have their own interpretation of the faith. That's why two groups with very very close understanding of Islam, namely ISIS and Al-Nusra Front, were two fiercest enemies of each other,. So much so, that they executed the captured soldiers of the other groups. They did so, because they considered each other Kharijites. Thanks for your time, and peace be upon you

Muslims will also skew Islam to suit their viewpoints which is why we get so many disagreements and versions of Islam today. I would rather someone who knows how to present information objectively and accurately than someone who is doing it to mislead people and confirm their own bias. @@aliyaf9869 There is only one Quran in Arabic in its original form and there is no contradictions or disputes about it. Viewpoints are secondary.

If you want to understand what desinformation is, this is the best example. I hope that people are not so naiv and search for the real truth by doing their own research. And for sure it is not a good advise to go to sources that are politically motivated. May God guide you the right path and opens your heart!

Westerners and students of western scholarship seems to be oblivious to the fact that western scholarship has the flippant audacity to be “able” to totally dismiss the history meticulously recorded by other peoples since they don’t personally like the method of recording. There are so many issues he speaks about as if there is no certainty regarding them yet Muslims have unbroken chains of narrations documenting those exact issues. Western scholarship will say it is being unbiased , etc, and utilizing its own established principles, however it’s an untenable position to claim that it is still not a sort of white washing or revisionistic towards the western bias.

The problem with these western academics is they don’t actually know as much as they presume to know or as their listeners presume they know. So when they make their VERY OWN historical narrative and interpretation it’s often made based off of a significant lack of knowledge that does exist but that they haven’t read (or have forgotten or misunderstood).

yeah, he mentions that method, and then says that it is not accurate because some of the hadith predicted future. Thus, the proof that ahadith are not reliable is the presupposed "fact" that the Prophet was not a real Prophet. That's what we call bias.

He said there's no way to discriminate which is an authentic hadeeth and which isn't, now if you don't take the authentic hadeeth as authentic (considering the process it has been through) then you can't really believe anything that was written by "historians" such as this one, because there isn't a more authentic text than authentic hadeeth except for Qur'aan. And yes some predict the future and it happened, the problem is with those who treat the Qur'aan and Hadeeth as if they were a new discovery and we are trying to find some pieces of leather or bone to figure out what happened before, completely oblivious or (blind sided by choice) to the fact that Qur'aan is an oral tradition, memorized not only to the salable, but to how long should each letter be recited, and it has been passed on in that (care sensitive) manner for generations, so when someone finds a piece of writing that has a mistake in it, probably written by a student, they go AHA! 🤣 listen, if you believe that the sun is a galactic logo of some hot orange juice brand in the sky, there is no Qur'aan or a prophet that would change your mind, especially if that "belief" makes your life easier, let's you do what ever you want without any pressure because that's what you believe, and makes you sleep at night. As for those who want to arrive at the truth and do not care what consequences it will bring them to follow the truth, they will find it. Agreed, @Musaed. Even islamic scholars who talk about the religion need to cite their sources and a chain of narration. Not sure where this video gets off spreading information as truth.This speech is underwhelming and sad because it doesn't deliver anything of substance. I only feel for people who came here to learn about the religion. If you truly want to learn and aren't just passing the time, then go to the source people. There are quran translations in almost every language. Eventually though, you want to learn and read it in Arabic, to avoid losing the essence through translation. That's how it has been preserved and will continue to be. Everyone wants the truth, God spede you.

And who decides a large amount of what is allowed and not allowed in Saudi Arabia? The religious clerics. And Muslims in the West say that...but those are not "real" Muslims. And those clerics spend decades of their lives studying Islam. And Iran? Who runs that country? The Ayatollahs. Who spend decades of their life studying Islam. But Muslims in the West say....They're not "real" Muslims. And Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi? A doctorate in Islamic studies. But he wasn't a "real" Muslim. By the time Muslims in the West are done...One percent of of the people who call themselves Muslims are "real" Muslims.

Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Thank you very much for your time. Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them. (19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad)..
