The thing I love about this matchup is that no matter who wins, it’s a giant storyline. If Charles wins, he’s beat all the best all in a row and is knocking on Khabib’s door. Basically, he’s risen to legendary status. If Islam wins, he completes Abdulmanap’s legacy, and is everything everyone thought he was, minus some fan girls, this whole time. He writes the story of Khabib and Islam, two legends from Dagestan, and begins his reign as champion. Damn!!!!!

I wouldn't say highest but I would say current level of MMA in the world at the moment. This is a sport that keeps evolving and it does more so when great fighters like this show up to the game. To me all these two are doing now is throwing the question out there of what else will rise up and destroy their opponent next

Man, I don’t see anyone having anything for Islam for quite a long time.
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov and Tayla Oliveira.. That's what this fight is REALLY about! For Islam this is Destiny, his last show of respect, to the man that poured his life into the creation of two Championship Calaber fighters. For Charles, since 2017 and the birth of his child the weight of the responsibility of fatherhood, we saw the change as iron sharpens iron, his grind through the UFC rankings. Walking over to Gaethje's corner before the fight to shake every single one of his team members hands. Again, hugging Gaethje before and after the fight. Never arrogant, unless provoked. Always has complementary things to say about his apponents. Would you like me to continue? YES, MORE HONORABLE. Islam and Khabib are all about claiming Charles doesn't speak english and that Champions should always learn to speak english. Islam has a calm demeanor but that doesn't mean he is more honorable a figure than Charles. What I like about it is that Khabib himself don't "play safe" He took risks with his shots, even almost, just almost got guillotine'd by Dustin, almost got his legs to be baloon vs Gaetjhe, and almost caught that mystic mac left by McGregor Islam on the other hand strives to do the same, but I think he need to channel his inner savagery more effective Khabib willpower is like a flood Do Bronx willpower is like a sword Both did held the belt, both are deadly, competent, and proficient Islam need to show this aspect the most on this upcoming match, in my opinion -Rambling MMA fan, 2022

I don’t think olivera style is going to be as effective against that good of a grappler it’s going to be a war but he’s got a good track record against elite jujitsu fighters like khabib he is a master of at weight placement and getting you in some bad spots when you’re tired I can’t see Islam not getting his hand raised at the end time to belt this dude up!

@@mathprodigy It's hard, man. Part of me wants Olivera to win because he grew up in the slums of Brazil. That's ABJECT poverty!😭💔 I love that dance he did when he won the belt. He was so happy!😄 However, I want to see Khabib become one of the most successful coaches in honor of his dad. And, I think Islam has the technical edge. We'll see. I'm just a casual fan of UFC. I think BOTH of these guys are SO good, it's too close to accurately call. I'm going to guess Islam will win by judges decision and, there will be much controversy. It will be a close call. The bell didn't save him instead he was holding on to defend till the 1st round unlike Charles ' armbar with Tony was clearly a close call to label a rescue. Everyone is given 5 minutes for each round fair and square why would u give credit to the bell as savior .Regardless he won the championship match with a tko .

Charles has interim champion material written all over him, he was a stopgap title holder living on vacated title donated by Khabib. Unlike Charles a champion does not quit, does not tap, does not sleep and does not get badly beaten up in every single fight. The belt belongs to Khabib's clan and on Oct 22 it will be handed over to the rightful team.
