Instead of focusing in Death penalty, the Government should focus on cleaning and implementing right justice, strenghtening the mental health awareness, giving the poor more attention, and having good quality education. This will lead the people to have a wholesome character and a holistic perspective in life. Death penalty is just too much for our country where the privilaged are often corrupted.

@Michael Jenson Sadiwa I do agree with you in the premise of reinstalling death penalty. However, with the current justice system of the Philippines, it will actually do more harm than good. Don't get me wrong, there is no such thing as a perfect justice system. Even in first world countries like United States, innocent people get executed. But the point is that the justice system of the Philippines is very unjust and unfair, so much so that death penalty will do more harm and will be to no benefit. So before we can install such a strict justice system, we must first change the way it works. The problem here doesn't lie within the law anymore, it is more of a problem concerning the ethics of our current society.

Thats a selfish notion. Have youve been in a victim's family? For me, id be just as satisfied in knowing that the perpetuator is doing time for the rest of his life for the crime they did. Jails in the Philippines are one of the worst out there. Death penalty can sate your desire for revenge for the moment, but isnt it much more tormenting for them to be spending the rest of their lives in misery

I agree in death penalty kasii as what i recall during the Marcos Regime,when the government execute the druglord named Lim Seng all the drug Syndicate during that time has Gone in the philippines....And Hindi kanmn dapat matatakot sa death penalty kung wala kang ginagawang krimen.at for those who are innocent na walang ginagawa that has been massacred,kinatay yung mga lamang loob sa kalsada at itinapon sa ilog ang bankay at iba pa. I really do want death penalty to be enforce for heinous crime but only if there is a fair judgement between rich and poor. It's a protection for everyone and an assurance for the person who died and his/her family that they will receive the proper justice. But of course if someone accidentally killed someone for example protecting themselves. There should be an exemption. Theres a lot of people who's afraid to go to hell when they die so they are being nice, I think its the same idea. If the people will be afraid of death penalty then they don't have any other choice but to be nice to other people.

No. Executing someone because they've taken someones life is revenge, not justice. Why? An execution or the threat of one inflicts terrible physical and physicological cruelty Any society which executes offenders is committing the SAME violence is condems. We as humans have the right to live but not to kill.the punishment is not to take the life of the offender but to take its freeom and make he or she rot in prison Death penalty can be called as easy way out for prisoners. And I believe Locking them up in Prison for life is enough to Drive them insane or to regret for committing the crime. That is More Effective than giving them an easy way out. We should let the offenders rot in prison it can be called torture.may be much more cruel punishment for the offenders.

Death penalty uses for revenge, not for justice. Justice should make you feel happy, kung napatay na ba yung pumatay sa minamahal mo. Does it mean happy ka? Ofcourse no diba, dahil kahit bali balik tarin man ang mundo hindi na babalik ang minamahal mo. Plus pinatay may pinatay which ang tao na yun may pamilya din. Do you want to feel that person's family, what you feel? Ofcourse not diba dahil Alam mo na yung feeling na yun. No man, ang death penalty ay gagamitin lang naman kung malala mismo ang crime na ginawa mo like murder. Syempre pwede ka rin naman ma-frame sa murder pero may bibigyan ka pa ng time na manatili sa kulungan habang iniinbestigate ng mga detectives ung murder so possible din na ma-lift ang death penalty mo UNLESS there are ENOUGH proofs.
