ISHOD WAIR's Bushing HACK!!

Ishod Wair's bushing hack is he puts two top bushings on his trucks. Ishod Wair does this bushing hack to help his trucks be as loose as possible without automatically getting wheel bite. I tried ishod wair's bushing hack for one session and I respect Ishod Wair more for his bushing hack because it is so hard to control the board when it's so loose. But After trying ishod wair's bushings for a session I've kind of gotten used to them and I'm gonna keep trying Ishod wair's bushing hack for a few more sessions.

I did this awhile back bc my trucks were loose enough to where my whole truck fell off 😳. Really helps. It’s also hilarious when people ask to ride your board & throw down, only to find how loose your trucks really are.

This is a pretty common longboard bushing setup. Venom sells double cones as "super carve". I haven't regular skateboarded for a really long time, but you could do a ton of custom stuff w/ bushings. Riptide sells street bushing packs. You could do double cone, softer in the front truck, or do harder board side w/ softer road side cones. Endless combos.

Nice content and discovery! I bought some months ago new indies bushings. Can't remember how/why, they were like the ones in the vid, top bushings only. I admit I did not pay attention, but just liked it. It's been 3 months I have them and I really like this way, much better to me than classic bushings when it comes to feeling confortable on your board moreover when you like having a nice turning on the streets...Thanks for the vid!!

I just thought about the concept of your videos. First of all, I enjoy them very much. I had this idea that you may not only change the setup of your skateboard for a video (in this case) but also change the style. For example if some skater does huge drops on a specific board setup, it would be nice to see if it helps YOU when hitting a (smaller) drop. Just an idea. Nice vid and make every day a Friday 🤙 Ps: sorry if my english is a little bit skuffed😅

Dude, you’ve improved SO MUCH since the last time I watched one of your videos like a year ago. Good luck on the dieting. I can tell you from experience, when you’re a big boy skater like I was, losing a lot of weight is like a cheat code for skating. Obviously you get better pop, but I found that my style got WAY smoother. And I rolled away a lot more on landings that weren’t perfect. I think maybe your body gets used to being top-heavy, so when you lose weight your body still tries to compensate for that extra missing weight. It’s like your sense of balance is overpowered. That was my experience anyways.

Ishod skates Thunders which are not a flowy truck so the bushing hack is just changing the geometry to make the trucks more flowy. If you want a more flowy and turny setup then try a new pair of trucks like Aces then you dont have to go tinkering with the geometry of a truck, would be good to go at stock. Lol yea its fun to experiment and tinker to get set ups more personalized but yaa know just sayin.

eventually your board will be like a total melting of like 100 pro's life hacks. i think the two top bushings also makes the trucks lower and have a shorter wheel base. also if you're dieting buy lots of healthy groceries that take a bit of effort to eat. when i eat really bad it's because i have 5 bags of 3d doritos in my bedroom where i can just graze instead of eating real food.

The big issue with this is with that bottom bushing being shorter it changes the geometry of the truck. The truck is going to sit titled inwards towards the center of your board and will put more pressure on the pivot cup. Definitely not the best thing for the trucks even if it feels good.

@Where's the curvature or cleavage? It's not just the pivot cup itself receiving extra pressure. It's the bottom of the hanger as well as the back of the baseplate and likely the kingpin as well. If it makes the trucks feel great for you or ishod or whoever, cool go ahead and do it. Just know it may lead to some earlier parts failures.

I'm 225lbs and can't ride conical bushings if my life depended on it. I also ride 8.5 though. I noticed the narrower the board the tighter the trucks feel. The less distance between the center of the board where the trucks turn, the less leverage, my guess. I can never get over how people ride their trucks so loose you can see the truck wabbling when they pick up their board.
