Yes mam..it is magic..how classical and film music on these ragas amuse us...the combination is amazing. . deep knoledge and understanding of this raga has to be there to compose like this.. you mentioned ARR ji n Sadhana Sargam ji too...I was like waiting to hear you tell us abt BEDARDI balma tujhko mera man yaad karta hai ...or kisi raha me kisi mod par kahi chal na dena tu chhodkar mere humsafar...Hindustani music composers hv done grt work on this raga n they acknowledge that they hv adopted Charukeshi keerwani etc from Carnatic ....

Dhoothu Selvatharadi song is an outstanding composition by Raja Sir .Charukesi at its peak.....Smt Mani gave less significance for that particular number ! I am very sad about this pl.

​@@viswanathansrinivasamurthy655 Maestro IR does NOT have an "era" or "time frame". He got his 5th National Award for Thaarai Thappattai in 2016 showcasing a specific art form of this soil. His background scores for the movies Merku Thodarchi Malai, 60 Vayadhu Maaniram, Sila Samayangalil (2018 movies) etc. prove he has NOT yet aged (in churning out great music). He is composing for 5 prominent movies in 2019. That was just a MYTH being floated around by people who either stopped listening to his music after the 80's OR are totally ignorant about his works post 1990 or biased that they don't want to credit him anymore.

How did you so easily forget ? to mention the evergteen hits of legendary composer G. Ramanathan' s songs such as Manmathaleeyai vendrar oondo? and mentionef only one word aboutVasanthamullai song of G. Ramanathan. Another famous song is Kaathirupaan kamalakannan in the voice of MLV. MSV ' s outstanding hit song pof Azaghiya Tamil Magal eval from Movi Rickshawkaran . While you discussed about medicore handling of charukesi by nowdays music directors. It isvery surprising to note that you have simplyoverlooked the magical hits derived from this soulful raga.
