Charukesi Raga at Royal Albert Hall | Dr L Subramaniam

Музыка

Charukesi (pronounced chārukēsi) is a rāga in Carnatic music (musical scale of South Indian classical music). It is the 26th Melakarta rāgam in the 72 melakarta rāgam system of Carnatic music. It is called Tarangini in Muthuswami Dikshitar school of Carnatic music.
Charukesi is known to incite feelings of pathos and devotion in the listener.

    Charukeshi, undoubtedly the saddest raaga of all. Its the last cry for help. When a man finally loses his battle against life, he turns to God himself and cry out loud for rescue. This raaga atleast for me depicts that.

    Ironically, charukeshi is known as the raga used in a tragic outset. Even this song aada Modi galade is about tyaga Raja lamenting how Rama is never giving him his darshan

    NEVER... Absolutely 💯 beautiful. I'm so pissed that his country was conquered by the English, most people don't know that Ireland and India have very similar flags to this day, because of their unified Independence movements at the same time essentially. I'm actually American, but ethnicity is Irish. 😎🇨🇮🤝🇮🇳🤝🇺🇸😎 I have about 12 Indian friends, plus their families. Absolutely wonderful people. Period. Every ethnicity has good and bad people, I'm not an idiot, yet my best and most loyal, honorable, people who possess integrity and love, peace are without question... INDIAN. 🇺🇸😎🤝😎🇮🇳

  • @janezpungartnik3149

    @janezpungartnik3149

    Of course he could do it. But if he played this at court he'd probably never played violin in that court again. As for the skill... You just have to look at his caprices to know he could play almost anything on a violin. One can only imagine if Paganini traveled through Asia what kind of music he'd write... But i agree, the sound on display here is so big, it's hard to compare it to anything..

  • @d.cypher2920

    @@janezpungartnik3149 i love paganini...obviously a huge fan of caprice number 24, and number 5 of course. *I'm not so sure he could actually play this, without a couple hours minimum of practice.* Not to even begin to mention: Niccolo Paganini was probably the FIRST superstar musician to actually play upon the 'sold my soul to the devil, in return for musical gifts'! I don't believe someone who could do such a thing overtly, at such a time in history would have any problems himself 'playing this at court' or the ramifications that would or would not follow. Who knows for sure... All i know: This man, *Dr. Lakshminaranya Subramanian trained in Carnatic music, and then trained in western classical music, and trained in medicine, and became a holder of a PhD.* That's a very big deal, were i am from. ☀️😎☀️🇺🇸 I appreciate your position, and comment. Be well

  • @yoavbueno9656

    @yoavbueno9656

    @@janezpungartnik3149 The real answer to that is, obviously Paganini could not have done it. But not technically speaking - rather musically speaking. He was not trained in modal music of this form, and to construct a raga such as this brilliant improvised rendering, one has to study this system. In reality, no great musician 'can do' what another one has done or does, simply because it's their unique musical character and expression, and more than that, it's a whole mindset of a different tradition which cannot simply be copied in technical means.
