I saw a few of the Police Tenere 700 today in a convoy on the M180 going East. They looked cool.

The Feds in Northumberland used to chase trail riders around the Cheviots and Pennines checking mot, reg, etc. Looking for scrotes on nicked bikes and nobbers roosting the countryside. IIRC they were on DR's, not sure if they were 350's or 4 hundys. Those lads could really ride but they always had knackered tyres, they were only changed when they hit the mot limit. Just head for the mud. Someone should make a movie from this era, it was hilarious. Here in NZ the Feds are using Yamaha Tracer 900 triples.

If I was chasing young city thugs on dirtbikes that were heading offroad to escape the cops I'd go for the Tenere, most of those kids are posers that can only do stunts on tar seal, real dirt bike riders aren't cruising around town they're out on the trails so the Tenere would have a good chance of catching them offroad , different story if the kid could actually ride though.
