    100%. Looks like #Polo will be the only saviour for VAG. They are currently working on a Sub4m SUV (okay a crossover) that will be positioned below Kushaq/Taigun to compete XUV #3XO, #Sonet, #Brezza.

    Unfortunately, with the gameplay they have, I see Polo may not make a comeback to India. Let’s wish the sub4m does some magic to have VW in our Indian soil… They were not able to position properly, their recent Ameo and Tiguans failure in sales is a testament to it…

    India is reaching a saturation point. Soon the sales will be down & most of the companies will leave. The main problem with our govt is taxation which is destroying the quality of products which we are getting. We are already using vast resources for cheap quality. This thinking that Indians are cheap has to stop. We deserve quality products at reasonable price which we are not getting. We have to remind ourselves that resources are limited. Use them wisely.

    I agree with your point on increasing automobiles prices due to taxation structure our government has, especially on the Hybrids. But automobile sales in India will never go down, its an expanding market, it will definitely witness 10% YoY sales increment. Its just that who taps a higher sales numbers will only be able to sustain in India.

    I would like to submit certain points to the VW/ Skoda group to consider 1. The head of India VW needs to be replaced, give way to new India head. 2. Market study on vehicles selling most & the reasons needs to be assessed, make cars as per Indian customer requirements. 3. If you cannot give features give them in after sales accessories, so much on VW accessories required to be done, we indian car buyers wants to modify cars as per our taste.... VW cars strict rigid attitude on it is not correct so called Warranty Void.. If at all VW doesn't want open market accessories to be put on their cars then VW can think of selling them at their dealership... Some of them can be..... 360 camera, ADAS, Dash camera, sunroof & many more. 3. They need to have more varients in each segments. 4. Focus on more numbers of service stations & easy spare parts availability in open market. 5. Add more features because we Indians love to show off. Allow buyers to get things installed from market or you introduced them at your dealership. 6. Size of the car does matter serious work needs to be done on that. 7. Electronics parts & AC needs drastic improvement. I hope some one reads this from VW/ SKODA I can write such a long comment because I am a slavia owner. Thanks Regards

    Can not agree more!! Until Zac Holis was there VAG Group gained a good momentum. He was so active in the social media forums to address any kinda concerns the customers had. Once he left Skoda, the piece of customer centricity moved/faded away. According to me, what VAG needs is a super hot hatchback like a Polo, a strong Sub4m Car, an improved Kushaq/Taigun's feature list and bring down its premium pricing, and a good 7 seater in the Alcazar/XUV700/SAFARI budget. This is the Indian need and requirement. But VAG failed to address it. If not, they should at least bring back Diesel. VAG is too adamant to bring anything that will work for India. Here in Coimbatore, they are pushing out 2022 Slavia with 3.5 Lakh discounts. Wonder why they could not push a Slavia for two years, its a conservatory fear of the cost of ownership of a VAG. Even their service packages are at a premium. They have to straighten all this. Increase more touchpoints. Like you rightly pointed out, MQB A0 IN cars have a poor second-row lack of ADAS, more usable features, AC, and a poor leg & shoulder room for Kushaq/Taigun. It is a 4.2m car competing against 4.3m & 4.5m in the segment, how would customers prefer this over them. Lastly, VAG is not disclosing the fact that RON95 Petrol only should be used as well. Later this will create issues with the engine thus pushing their customers to spend more.

    Don't be worried, VAG will stay. They will partner with a local company (like how MG did with JSW) and try to sustain. Even if they leave India, they are bound to leave their ASC's operational for the next 10 years. Virtus had a poor AC because they did not use AC compressors of higher power, as this will have an impact on mileage since it is a 1.0 & 1.5 EVO engine. We can do nothing much. Alternatively, just clean your HVAC filter every 5k km yourself for better AC throw, refill the AC gas every 2years.

    Sales and ASC are their biggest problem. Kia’s story in India is a big case study for VAG. With just 3cars Kia is selling 25-35k cars a year. But VAG is too adamant to bring a Polo, now only they are working on sub4m SUV, not a budget friendly 7seater btw 18-33lks. Now they are crying that sales is not great. They don’t understand the customer pulse

    Correct. Also, they did not cater into the segment rightly or priced the cars they launched perfectly. Sub4m hatch & SUVs are needed. They axed Polo, now only working on Sub4m pseudo SUV Kushaq/Taigun should have been a 4.3m and a slightly wider car, if not, it should've been priced less than its retailing currently. No budget 7 seater in their portfolio. or a premium 5 seater like a harrier/compass.

    I made a big mistake purchasing skids Kushaq one of the useless car mileage is worst even one litre engine if u accelerate little bit high mileage will drop to single figure. Cabin rattling sounds are everywhere they have not done insulation correctly. Thier infotainment is outdated and it is wired unlike Koreans. Ac is pathetic and sometimes brakes sound will come not sure what is the isssue. Reverse parking camera is not good and sometime it won’t work not sure y we need to put front gear and then again back gear. Their service Center guys are useless fellows I once went for rework of paint someone touched their quality of work is very bad did not do the painting correctly. So I request whoever wants to buy this please don’t buy. Go for creta

    The biggest pain is their ASCs. It’s a hit or miss. See if you get your Skoda pampered in a better dealership. Btw, I hope you are using only XP95 for your Kushaq which is recommended

    And I’m shocked and sad. This is the biggest issue with VAG. They’ve less touch points and the technicians are not trained well. Customer feedback are not taken seriously. Yet they push unwanted stuffs to service bills IMO, The cabin rattling should be a minor fix. Infotainment may need some software update to keep it working sanely.

    Ha ha.. not really.. they’ll anyway have to service in India for 14years as per investment policy, so services will be there just like Ford. Cars may get cult following soon

    This story sounds exactly like ford. They were also looking to work out things with Mahindra, which kicked them in the nuts at the very last moment. Bye Bye VW India.

    Thanks for the reply. Exactly, very true. We really hope Ford’s story should not repeat in India for VAG. With the way they were at 2014-17, they had a very negative growth. Their MQB AO IN strategy did helped them a little. Now Taigun twins + Virtus twins are doing just fine (6-7k a month). Without a strong partnership to backup, it’s highly unlikely for them to sustain. Somehow, Citroen, Jeep, Renault is sustaining with poor numbers, wish VAG finds a way to sustain too. A global competition like VAG is needed to keep our Indian Engineering grow significantly higher (we have witnessed this with XUV700, Harrier Twins, Nexon and many)

    @@adityachaudhary3520 💯 very true brother. Without Zac and MQB A0 IN platform VAG would’ve exiting a long time ago. Considering no cars under 10Lks, premium pricing for their cars, hot or miss ASCs are eating away their sales For the premium they are charging, they should’ve introduced Taigun and Virtus twins with 6airbags for the basic variant long time back.
