This goes for any farm-raised fish. Any living creatures grown in close-quarters on a mass production model will contain growth chemicals to rush to market size, and antibiotics to prevent/minimize disease. These SAME chemicals are taken into the human body during food consumption and can cause problems over time.

Sometimes people are really health challenged or are getting older... 50s, 60s... who watch Dr. Axe. And sometimes changing something here or there that is good or bad can make a difference in their well being. My saying is.... There are a lot of little things that make you sick and there are a lot of little things that make you well. Dr. Axe is trying to help people with the lot of little things that make you well. Is he perfect? Are you? Is he still trying to learn things? Are you? If you are 40 or under and healthy, you may not get the significance of all of the Dr. Axe videos. I like Dr. Axe and I believe Dr. Axe would even to try to help his critics if they were sick. 😁😁

I get the issues with making fish farming safer and I've seen the vast numbers of videos on how "unsafe" it is. Work needs to be done but I don't see evidence that humans are being harmed. But I never see any peer-reviewed studies validating it's dangers to us. What evidence is there that these fish are full of carcinogenic toxins? Where are the health studies showing statistics on harm to humans? And why aren't you ranting against bacon?

You should simply ignore what the self-proclaimed dr just said. Just the slightest touch of logic breaks his argument. Tilapia is no worse to eat than any other farmed fish. If the fish is feed toxins that would be picked up by your body, then it wouldn't matter if it was Bass or Tilapia or whatever. Personally if I had the space I wouldn't mind farming them for myself. It would actually be rather fun. But atm I don't have the space for it.

I’m keeping Tilapia fish on my Homestead, they have a nice 40 meter pond to swim around in. Feeding them organic feed as well as fresh veggies. Also the water being pumped into my pond is mineral water from my solar pump. I think it depends on how the fish is farmed? You cannot trust anything nowadays unless you grow it yourself. Tilapia is not a bad fish to eat if it has been raised properly 😋

Inflating? You have to be more specific and what's your genetics, diet, sleep, and amount of exercise... And if your getting stressed, have chronic diseases and medication (including off the counter)...

The main perceived problems of tilapia stem from their diet. If you know exactly what they eat, you’re fine.

I don't eat tilapia here in the city becoz it's unhealthy fish bcoz people feed them feeds or chemical or waste, but in my home town we have fish pond that has tilapia we don't feed something they only eat is grass floating on the water or they eat kangkong.. I eat only rock fish which living in the rock of the sea that eat sea grass

Problem most people are sensitive to fish oil and do not like the taste, especially non-asians. That is why most like mild fishes like cod, talapia... Any mild fish.

Basically they are fed pretty much the same things our chickens and other food animals are fed. I would think no fish is going to live in a poor quality of water. Cat fish, shrimp, and a number of other seafood eats things out of the water to filter it. No doubt there are better fish, like prime rib. Lol.

It's been awhile since I paid attention but from what I remember you can toss in large fish food once in a while but they mainly ate their own young you leave in and duckweed you toss in each day. I have been thinking this year that next year I just might raise some tilapia myself but want to make sure I keep it off grid in case we lose electricity. I have to figure out the details before I even start but I have all winter.

If it is a local lake that you know is clean it should be fine...It is just when the fish are coming from different countries.. We have no idea what they ate or anything. A lot of times they are being fed pesticide food pellets, their water is dirty and the fish are unhealthy because they are being treated with antibiotics all the time because of parasites.
