Hey Harris, Any idea if the Goxlr is ever gonna get a number 2 or new variations? I haven’t been able to find a better competitor because the goxlr has everything I need especially for audio routing. Hoping we I’ll have two mic inputs one day…

Can we get a review with and without EQ and post processing on the mic compared to others in it's price range? I know you did a video similar to this already from cheap to highly expensive microphones, but this wasn't on the list and I want to hear the differences on this one specifically.

Wow I’m actually impressed they applied the inverting cancellation. That’s a post production technique producers use but I guess you don’t have to do it manually anymore. Does this sound good for vocals tho is it mostly for speaking?

Dynamic microphones are for speaking applications. They are built to dampen surrounding noises and focus on the voice speaking directly into the mic. A condenser microphone is generally used in music production and can be used not only for crisp vocals but also for your instrument.

I gotta say I'm absolutely impressed by the sound of this mic. Usually when you showcase mics, I have a few tiny irks here and there, like a few rogue plosives or very lowkey breathing or just a certain edge of the sound I dislike. But this mic just sounds soooo smooth. As some people in the comments have also said, a sound comparison against the ShureSM7B and Blue yeti, maybe together with other recent mics, would be dope

So, my mic thoughts. Mic looks cool. Cool innovations. The FIRST thing I noticed was the audio vs your other videos. I feel like the mic is brighter, with more sibilant sounds coming through. There seems to be a lack of mids in there. BUT, that could all just be expectations, so confirmation bias. I'd love to see a non-sponsored breakdown VS mics like the smb 7b and others. Just because of my engineer past, I nerd out on it. Keep rockin the good rock man!

Hey there. I really enjoy your videos and I am grateful for how informative they are! So, thanks! This new logitech mic looks and sounds great. The only thing I'm wondering about is a setting that allows a wider range of movement without loss of dynamics and volume. When you speak to the side a little bit it seems to lose volume and dynamics a bit.

mixed feelings about the sound. first thing i thought when hearing it was "this sounds very compressed". there is a certain sharpness and distortion(?) in the highs that i find a bit unpleasant. not sure, whether that comes from the mic or from something in the signal chain. to be fair though, just listened to it via smartphone, will watch this a second time via monitors.

nope, standing by my comment. there is definitely some distortion going on, especially with louder parts. nonetheless. the idea with of a "cold mic-signal" within the mic itself is genius and it would be very interesting to test this against the obvious mic that it is competing with. this feature might be the part which sells the mic, if it is any good.

I think this is one of those microphones that helps those who already have the majority of their things as Logitech. I personally have a keyboard (soon to not be Logitech) and a mouse that’s Logitech. So to add a nice light and a dynamic microphone to compete with SM7B at just a touch under the price point with a not so aggressive design but more of a softer, clean, out of the way design is an interesting thought.

I liked this mic. The design is excelent (already saw black version). I am getting into voiceover stuff and creation content and I like that this mic gives the podcast-like feeling but is not as boomy as the SM7B which make it versatile so I do not need to have 2 mics; one for streaming and one for voice overs. Also the integrated gain boost and that its dynamic make it better for a budget setup (dont need that much room treatment and stuff). I like it.

Only @ 37dB of gain on my AT BP40 dynamic, so it seemed like both the look and the emphasis on the lack of need for anything like a cloudlifter or preamp was all aimed @ directly competing with the SM7B. The look of this is nice & after watching your video here, the details seem interesting. For someone like myself though, it's super cost prohibitive being that I've already dropped $300+ on a different mic that there's technically nothing wrong with. Wouldn't mind trying out other options, but.. just don't have the expendable cash to plop down $300+ on a 2nd mic when I only need 1.

This is a great looking microphone. Harris, have you tried using this with the Rodecaster pro 2? I know that if I were to use a gain booster like a Klark Teknik or a Cloud Lifter on the RCP2 it actually makes the sound worse, so I'm wondering if the Logi Clearamp would do the same.

i like the design overall, i do think they could have made another design choice with the placement of the cord input. the finish is nice and clean. The audio quality is not the best i have heard in this price category, but its up there with the best, it was really good and premium feeling, no annoying metallic sound, but i did notice a tiny amound of muffling of your voice from it, compared to the way you usually sounds, but the audio was overall very clear and had a warm sound. and the square design makes it easy for youtubes to vinyl wrap the design with their own creative ideas, so the design is unique :D

On the one hand, a light that skinny can't really make a nice, soft light source. On the other hand, it's nice seeing a long beam like that. I used to use a desk light of a similar shape and liked that the length meant it could light both sides of my face. Put it off the one side just a bit and you get a pretty decent single-light setup. That light was substantially cheaper than this, but on sale, this could be a neat buy.

Suddenly at random moments the mic gets like BASS BOOSTED and all the output sounds start peaking and blasting my ears. I was told I would have to pay for it to get fixed. So likely I will just get another mic

The mic is super clean, really like the look. But I have to say I noticed Reverie playing in the background, love that beat. But tik tok kept flagging the video, so hopefully one day I can use stream beats on my clips. Thank you for stream beats and all you do.

About the The Blue Sona, at US $349.99 there are a lot of COMBINATIONS of digital interfaces and microphones I could pick from. I could get a Rode NT1-A mic + Elgato Wave XLR for almost the same amount. Or something like the LEWITT LCT 240 PRO + MOTU M2 2x2 USB-C for $10 more and that is a microphone plus an interface. If we are talking just microphones, $350 means you have to win over mics like the LEWITT LCT 440 PURE, Audio-Technica AT4040 or the sE Electronics - 2200. I know Logitech has some "interesting" features and it looks nice but at $350 I got a a lot to choose from. I was really interested until I saw the price, at $250 it would get my attention.

Hey! there. I think it sounds good and looks even better, and that sound cancelation with double modules. I might give this one a try.

I know this was 11 months ago but I bought GOXLR when you had made your videos on it, then when I saw this video, I decided to upgrade my mic from my MXL BCD-1 to a Blue Sona. Do you have any tutorials on how to make the mic work with the GOXLR? I realized that the Sona was a dynamic mic but I can only use the mic in condenser mode and actually be heard, when I set it to Dynamic, the mic is super low and I have to get my mouth right on top of it, I tried googling tutorials or something, maybe a fix, but I can't find anything on it. Looks like I'm the only one using a Sona with a GOXLR lol, but it works fine on condenser but doesn't work properly on Dynamic. If anyone knows how to help, pleeeaaasssee comment. I don't want to have to end up just moving to an SM7B already...

As an audio engineer and streamer, I am VERY impressed at this microphone and how they used the inverting cancellation to their advantage. Amazing! I might get it now.

Not sure if it's just the pitch of your voice but seems very clean in the mid-tones. Would have enjoyed seeing example of bass cut-off on ... and then off just for comparison. The look is clean and I like the design cues, I think it would compete much better at a USD $299.00 price point. Over 300 I see people going to a Rode, Shure, or other premium brands used by other creators.

Hmm for the mic, I’m unclear if I should enable phantom power or not. A motus m2 with phantom power enabled and high gain, apparently would have slight hummm to it. Is it necessary to enable phantom power to a dynamic mic at all?

The mic looks good, but for the price I expected a little more careful plosive rejection, as well as a fuller, richer sound. It has low tones, but something about it has a thinner, leaner sound to me, combined with a slightly distorted sound, which became even more obvious when getting closer with the proximity effect. I think it's good, but might like a little more cleanup with effects. The appearance definitely looks great though!

The biggest challenge I have in my work space is reducing my home floor noise for professional VO. With all the advanced tech, how does this mic fare with idle floor noise? I know the environment may vary.

  • @MrLagzy
    @MrLagzy Жыл бұрын

For the tech the microphone is really awesome but I think it sounds compressed as it doesn't really get much your highs though it doesn't amplify your lows. All of this can be fixed through an EQ so the mic is pretty good.

  • @russwehnau7368

The mic has not been tuned yet, sounds a touch tinny but it may also be the noise cancellation cause you sound a bit high pitched.
