As long as he stays aware of his beginnings and keeps his broad perspective on different varieties of horology that is perfectly fine. But I´m pretty confident, that TGV doesn´t fall vitctim to watch snobbery.

I find that the price of the timepiece for me don't matter much, I can't even afford a 1,000 watch, But it is the insight into these timepieces that draw me to the videos. I can enjoy them just as well. Thank you for the great work.

Many other reviewers when reviewing a watch with that high of a price tag will either be blinded by the luxury and claim it is a perfect watch with absolutely nothing to improve upon, or go the complete opposite and claim the price is ridiculous and anyone willing to pay that much has more money than brains. I really appreciate you showing that it is an absoulutely beautiful and stunning piece, however it is not without it's flaws. Keep up the good work!

Great video! I've always considered this watch a grail watch for me but an unobtainable one. Its so exquisite.

I have to say i am trully happy for you! And i agree in everything you said both pros and cons. I would love this watch in white gold pr platinum with grey, bluish, colors on the enamel. The only thing i am not sharing with you is the necessity of better apparel. I think ot looks amazing with the clothes you are wearing on the video and even with more casual look. I feel this watch is a lot more wearable with casual than a calatrava 5119. Great video!!!!

TGV: Great review! I concur with your assessment of the FONT on the watches. The first one, at least for me, makes it slightly more difficult to read whilst the second was bolder and easier on the eyes. That being said, I do think its a gorgeous piece of haute horology. Of course, I'd never be able to afford it. I'll just be happy with my Citizen Eco Drive Atomic Clock World Time with perpetual calendar.

One of my favourite watches, regardless of price, it’s stunning.

Great video. The World Time is the most amazing watch to me. And certainly PP’s is the standard, just perfect.

This Patek is an important watch in history for sure, I'm not crazy about it though.

Agree, DST is the “elephant in the room” when it comes to the functionality of this watch. Some places don’t observe it at all, Northern Hemisphere countries spring forward at the same time Southern Hemisphere countries fall back, so even cities in the same time zone but on opposite sides of the equator can be an hour different. What a mess! DST needs to go!

This has been 17 minutes of pure class. The Patek is a thoroughbred grail watch with an amazing movement. Absolutely incredible and honest review. Looking forward to the next one. Regards, Koen

While the watch is somewhat beyond my age group, the music and cinematography you use is just brilliant! This Watchbox partnership is going very well

The music was top notch, the editing superbly done, and that is an enigma of a watch. If I was going to spend that kind of dough on a watch, which I wouldn't, it would have to be more durable for me.

Welcome to Philly my home town. Beautifully crafted World time as stated but for the money I do believe there are at least 4 other masterfully crafted timepieces I would rather have on my wrist and probably save close to 65 to 70 thousand after purchasing the four of them. As always TGV great insight and wonderful video portraying another masterpiece of a watch. Cheers.

Woo! Two videos in one hour! No wait....

Nice video! A Patek 5130G really addresses some of the negatives that you describe, most of which I agree with. But if you can live without the cloisonné dial (whose aesthetic qualities can really effect the values on this model), the 5130 has the same beautiful case, movement, clasp, hands, and function, without the dated fonts and case engravings. Plus save $75k. Win.

Yes it is a beautiful piece, everyone is unique with the hand painting on the dial, most definitely worth the price. But I recent picked up a PP Ref 5930G for a third of the price which I am loving. The only thing that I don't really like about this particular piece personally is the font used, but as I say that is my personal view. Previously I have used a Mont Blanc or Girard Perregaux (GP now taking centre stage in my overall collection as a brand as no one really talks about them often, but after visiting the factory to collect one of the very first Constant Escapement Movement over 5 years agoI fell in love with the brand). I think that Hamilton & Christopher Ward (although I cant stand the placement of his logo) offer great priced alternatives in the market for this style of watch. I also have a vintage Seiko Word Timer in the collection which is very unique & retro. But my GRAIL WATCH is the Greubel Forsey GMT Earth in White Gold, the limited edition model or the Gruebel Forsey GF05 - the day that I can buy one of these at the right price for my collection my life will be horology timeless life will be complete.

I have also been comsidering a preowned Breitling Transocean Chronograph Unitime AB0510U0/A790 which is well priced pre-owned offering many great features.

Great review as always TGV, watch is a classic & each piece individual due to the hand painting. I commented earlier that personally I wasn't a fan of the font & had a few other World Times in my current collection. Today I have been looking at a Pre-Owned Breitling Transocean Chronograph Unitime AB0510U0/A790 online that has captured by eye which is well priced, inspired by yours comments on Breitling on your recent interview with Tim. I have several older or vintage pieces from Breitling but they don't get any wrist time so perhaps time to move them on.

I currently have a 5146R Annual Calendar, an 36mm RG DayDate with Tahitian Black MOP dial with brilliants, and a few other Rolex/Omega pieces. Cheers!

I completely agree about the font on the dial, it ruins it for me. It looks so dated and as if they are trying too hard to be classy, which in turn has the opposite effect. The newer font and dial are far nicer.

The Patek Philippe is a beautiful luxurious watch but even if I had the money I wouldn't be comfortable wearing it everyday. Yes it has a world time but it's just not practical imo. Great video TGV hope your enjoying this new journey in your life👍

I was skeptical of this whole Watchbox move... with this style content I see the appeal of having access to their inventory. This is (and should continue to be) a very unique play on watch reviews. Seeing how a piece works with different lighting, outside of a sterile white backdrop is refreshing. I do think the relative flow of the reviews should stay the same, however it would be great to have guest models (even well known collectors or passionate fans) to be the model in the video. Picture this, a review of a dive watch with shots of someone actually using it as a dive watch (novel idea haha). Keep up the good work!!

🌍🌍 Absolutely stunning and I have to say: this video showcases it perfectly.

The choice of cities in my iPhone is much larger and I can customise the World Clock display. Possibly more waterproof too! So this Patek boils down to: is it to your taste and can you afford it? Not enough, and definitely not as far as I am concerned. But thanks for showing it to us in such a well-produced video TGV.
