A way that this could have gone at least a little faster would have been if you had made the shack a tiny home. Plants grow twice as quickly in micro homes

I did this, but instead I just gardened and painted. I also became a spellcaster because I wanted to take advantage of the potion of plentiful needs and burgliate. Then it was lottery day and I just tracked down the lottery winner and married them.

I’m guessing it’s giving conveniently located suggestions for different gameplay. You want to try something new, aren’t coming up with an idea, and don’t feel like looking anything up. Even seeing the concept of scenarios could prompt someone to change up their gameplay, whether they use the actual scenario, their own idea, or any of the ideas shared by fellow simmers. Like a springboard of sorts.🤷🏻‍♀️

few things i have to say as someone who regularly plays rags to riches in my game. 1. micro home is ur best option for literally anything 2. having a tent gets ur fun and sleep up at the same time and u can bring it with u everywhere, including the magic realm 3. having the game on 7 day seasons so you can keep reaping the 500 reward points of the holidays is the easiest way to get the money tree (besides flipping back and forth between aspirations)

Plus instead of doing the "Under what conditions?" option when he got the phone call for it, if he had done the option that prompted the getting married in seven days, married a rich townie, he could've gotten not only the rich townie's money but also the bonus money of getting married within the seven days.

It might not be the most _efficient_ way to do it, but surely it's the most _entertaining_ to watch.

On of the fastest way to earn money is by selling your Masterpiece paintings on Plopsy. The highest I got is on a Surrealism painting valued at about 42K simoleons for that painting alone. EDIT: I have the Marketable trait.

You can sell them at a yard sale too. I don't know what the plopsy markup is, but at a yard sale you can mark up 300%

Some ideas 1) don't spend a lot money 2) grow roses and/ or lilies 3) get a dumpster and pile of presents on your lot and sell what you get from them 4) same with the decorations box, sell things from the 'rummage for' action. 5) farm aspiration points to get buy money trees 6)join business career so you can invest on stock market

Fastest way possible is probably taking pictures of sims, becoming friends then asking to move together. Take all their money, bulldoze their house, repeat.

Kayla's reno is the only way to go, imo. The original just seems bare and bland.

I did that scenario also as spellcaster with the money tree. In the cooldown phases I worked on my golden chicken. By the time the trees were big, they were also the best level.

the quick emotion changes from sad to flirty as he sells money fruit at 23:50 are KILLING me lmfao

I think I did this one in 9 days. I went the opposite route and had my Sim become a vampire and he was a painter and crafter because selling paintings on Plopsy makes scads of money. We did eventually have a money tree but it was just one. here's the kicker, though...halfway through the challenge, my Sim had twin aliens.

You can make the trees or any plants perfect really easily if you are a good gardener and a spellcaster. Take cuttings of the plants until they die, then you can magic them back to life. If you do that, they come back ready to evolve. This way they can be perfect in a day.

James trying to make a million simoleons.....destroys the best possible way by stomping out the dust bunny. Being one track minded isn't ALWAYS a good thing.

HAHAHA This challenge scenario method is H I L A R I O U S. In doing this one myself, I never would have even thought to go this route. But I'm glad James did it because he makes it funny. Someone needs a Patchy.

Willit Bake marries a Bigwallet (Chaz?) and opens the Bigwallet-Bake Cake Store! I know she's old but so are some of the Bigwallets and they can find love late in life before James kills them since they shouldn't still be living. I wanna see Silver to Gold R2R once, haha.

It took me way longer, but I also played it more in a rags to riches way and less in a "as fast as possible" way ^^ Was fun to watch!

James, if you switch your inventory selection to "multi-select" you can sell items that you could not otherwise sell.

I recently completed this challenge but I don't have the pack with the magic stuff. I made a lot of paintings, did a lot of gardening, invested in as many money trees as possible and tried to be at the top of my career with all the family members. It took me 124 sims-days :)

We love to see some James and Deli crumbs, they're so cute together :'D

I gave the vid a dislike for the interruption. I find it very jarring to have the flow interrupted and then have to sit through 2 giant heads on the screen while someone is given a recap they could have simply been given offscreen. To each their own.

I’m sorry but I just found James channel like a week ago and have been binge watching his videos and this video was the first I seen him with his love…. And for the while I’ve been on his Ty channel I thought he was giving some fruity vibes… 🫣I hate myself for thinking that when he isn’t! 🫠 still all love to him and his love!

This would be fun as a livestream series. Have us vote in a poll ahead of time as to the primary&back up ways to make money, traits, etc. Maybe even have something random for each, too, like random traits/lot traits, the money making endeavor, whether you’re a single sim or have pets, the world, and so on to add to the challenge.

The thing that is actually super helpful with spellcasters is the plentiful needa potion, cause then you can focus on the challenge and never really worry about your needs

I did it. I ended up doing freelance painter career for both sims, sell paintings on the side and then moved house constantly buying a more expensive one each time, (furnished and selling furniture each move). It still took a while but found that to be quicker than anything else I could of done.

Do you recall if you beat the 16 day completion?

I did a similar run about a year or so ago. After I got the money tree, when the tree was bearing fruit, instead of selling the fruit, I put the trees in my inventory which allowed me to collect the fruit which I then in turn planted. I was on the big lot in Newcrest and I wanted to see how much I could make in one day. I got the tree farm up to a 20 x 20 square and then did my first big sale and netted over three million simoleons in one day. It took me 26 days to get to that point. I may try it again now and see how quick I can get to one million.

I did this scenario a week or so ago, and ended up winning the lottery. Never in my 10+ years of playing sims have I ever won the lottery until that scenario lol

I ended up going the copypasto route myself, but instead of money trees I repeatedly duped the flower arrangements from the flower arranging skill. Maxed out spellcasting, and got the final perk on the leftmost line; then duped a 4k flower arrangement in the magic realm with no care as to my charge. Completed the challenge in 6 days.

I did this challenge back in December. I had four sims painting and paranormal investigating for 48 sim days.

Loved this episode, nice one James.

The other Realm of Magic combo is Repario on Flower Arrangements. They all become pristine and excellent quality, and then you can sell them super expensive. Many people commented the inferniate-insurance money-Repario infinite loop, which is amazing. Last but not least, Copypasto works on fully grown money trees, so you can make one tree excellent quality and then copypasto it to infinity.

Yay this is great! Also you can just drag things again to your inventory to achieve collecting aspiration. 👌🏻

This episode should be called rags to easy riches. I couldn't imagine how you could've done it much better James, but I enjoyed this video.

Jeez, it took me 82 sim days… I did the acting career and had my sim get fame perks and stuff to build stuff up initially. I did eventually get a money tree and then worked on my gardening skill until I could graft the money tree onto another tree so that I could harvest the money fruit and plant more.

This would be a great series! Seeing how long different things take to make a million simoleons

Taking the magic route is hard because you need to level your spell caster to have a chance to get the copypasto spell. Money trees also take time to grow. I think the fastest way is just to level flower arranging and sell them on the vendor table. Painting is OK, but I usually don't see much over $1-2k. Flower arranging gives you consistent $4k-$6k base (level 10) and that sells for $16k-$24k on the selling table at 300% markup. A tiny home and quick learner aspiration will get things going. Also, buy a lot for close to $20k in the beginning and you can sell the stuff in the house to get your flower arranging table. The quickest way by far though, is to make a holiday where Father Winter appears and take his $500k simoleons. :P While waiting for him, go around the rich houses and get people to move in with you taking their stuff and selling it.

I've never made it through this scenario and give up but might try it again after watching this!

I played this in a kinda chill way, I had just one money tree and ended with a family and a big house, it took me 61 days in game and around two weeks I think, now I'm building them a kind of mansion 💖

I did the painting club route and I tried a restaurant but I forgot they are glitchy af still not finished. A good tip is if you’re going the gardening route and have city living go to the festival’s and get the plants there.

For me it took 3 sims days. I used "Repairio" and went dumpster diving "dive for deals" and "dive for meals". With bad meals i refill dumpster, got 3 money fruit from dumpster. Went to the lot planted money fruit, got all my stuff from inventory, put it on my lawn, used repairio and sold it all! Got lucky with computers and good fridge. :)

I've done this one a few times trying out different ways to make money. I forgot about spellcasters but did try cloning thru Scientist career in one play through - that wasn't my fastest one but wasn't the longest either. Fastest was 12 days doing painting mostly (mainly on sketchpad) with gardening to supplement and switching aspirations to get enough points for money trees asap. I wanted to do a money tree orchard one but doing it without magic or cloning would take longer than 12 days, I think. I used to be able to harvest seeds from trees but it was random and it may have been a bug. There was a cheat you could do where you put the tree in household inventory and it would give you some seeds but I haven't tried that recently. I may have to try this challenge again :)

I did it in 21 days with no money trees. I also used a spellcaster to get the potion of plentiful needs and the good ol copy-pasto. I had him visit the jungle in between magic lessons to pick up golden frogs to copy pasto. Then sell them on the retail table outside the front door for 300% mark up. I didn't rush, it was too much fun

I took a graft from a money tree and then put it onto a plasma berry tree, so I pretty much get up to 3 money tree seeds each time I harvest it and then go and plant them.

Kudos for taking such a creative route though! I don't have Realm of Magic and this made it very tempting to buy, haha.

I tried a similar way with gardening and made a gardening club to make them come over every morning to look after the plants. Didn't do it this quickly though.

I do rags to riches often (for how often I play) but don’t have realm of magic or seasons. But now I really want to try and burn through a rags to riches and see how fast I can do it, probably just with painting. Or painting and home decorating for big payouts.

Collectables tip for next time: The random dogs and cats leave all these little boxes scattered around at the beach area in Brindleton Bay. Well, maybe not in a brand new save ... Fun to watch. My fam got filthy rich off gardening. Classic. Making money in Sims isn't so hard. And always start with the roses. Worth good cash and once ''perfect'', super as fertilizer.

It would have been cool if we had special unlockable items we only get if we complete specific scenarios

I started the scenario in December and decided to do it in conjunction with my Cottage Living Rags to Riches. Well, my sim completed her aspiration, went from an empty plot of land to a full function farm with a beautiful two story house, found her partner, had him complete his aspiration, and now they're about to have kids and I have made about 250,000 using just the Cottage Living means (canning, animal products, cross stitch, and basic gardening). And I kind of feel like I've gotten what I want from Rags to Riches and Cottage Living so that scenario million still looms in the distance. So... I'm going to tear up those giant crops and begin the mass dragon fruit garden and call it a day 😅

When I did this scenario. I had a micro home and went to build mode an looked for money tree instead of a house to place on the lot . I found a farm of money trees someone made that were full grown, Placed those on my lot and keep selling the fruit for like 3 or 4 days in sim time and it was about a half hour and I completed it.

I waited until someone won the lottery and moved them in, took their money and then moved them out with nothing 🤣

Great job, perhaps if you tended one money tree until it was evolved and loaded with money , then copy pasteo the perfect ready for harvesting tree. Perhaps you could have saved tending so many trees from the seeds up. Also you could just buy something expensive and copy pasteo and sell, from inventory or yard sale table.

When you splice a money fruit tree with another plant, you're able to harvest and plant multiple money trees for free. Not sure if this would be faster or slower, though. I'm for sure gonna have to try it though.

Another great trick is making a spellcaster learn the replenish needs potion and duplication spell. With both of those, you're golden. You can easily zoom through the skill-based aspirations until you have enough points to buy need freezers.

doing the interior design career can give you like 6k per day. if you send them on their own it takes 12 hours, but doing it yourself only takes a few hours of sim time since most of it is in build mode. good option for fast money.

Why is James always so focused on the aspiration specific tasks to get the points up? You can just fulfill a bunch of whims, it's much quicker!

I feel like it's faster to get a bunch of dogs and play for reward points (feel the love always works quite fast in my opinion). Then buy the money tree and then graft it to plant a bunch of them
