I got this set about a year ago as high handicap beginner. These are doing well for me, I upgraded driver to Cobra ltdx max & has improved my drives to the fairway being forgiving but still giving me good distance. I will probably continue upgrading my woods & hybrids as well to see if that helps. The irons & putter are fantastic, just had to upgrade the grips. Adding a couple wedges helped as well 54 & 60 from a used shop getting the pair for $80. Highly recommend this set if you're looking to get a starter set or upgrade from an old hammy down set like I did.

At 43 years I got the itch. The price point got me and the performance has been surprising, even for a slicing lefty like myself. Good to see a better golfer show off what im hopefully capable of with this set. Cheers!

I got this set and it's nice to see you playing so well with it. I find the driver awesome and with the graphite shaft feels wonderful.

Really happy with this set. Tried them out today for the first time. The Plus 1 shaft makes a big difference.

I love what these sets are doing for golf. I see new members playing with them who don’t feel like they are playing with budget gear. Confidence is more than just striking the ball. If you feel good I honestly think mentally it helps. Another great review of what appears to be another great set.

They do feel really good, I’m a newbie to golf been playing just over a year with a 2nd hand set and bought these recently for my first new set and they’re giving me some really good confidence and improvement

Cool review. Cobra is a solid brand. These look miles ahead of the top flight and callaway strata sets that were available at the local golf shop a few years ago. Fun playing woth you today and looking forward to doing it again.

Had 7 years out of the game, came back to semi blades ...ouch no chance and stuff that. Had a go at these cobra in a package set because they looked so good.....bought them, hit them well and in regular I couldn't go wrong. Just brilliant value for a fantastic set of everything. For £527 I couldn't ask for more

I’ve got a box set from Costco and have been totally happy with it - it has the five iron and 4 hybrid + sand wedge. It’s taken a few years but now I’m really enjoying the forgiveness this ‘Callaway’ set can give a high handicap player.

I bought this set in May (2022) and it had a SW. I absolutely love the putter. I had a wicked slice and the driver doesn't show any draw bias for me, but thats a me issue. I agree, having to hit a hybrid out of the rough is hard due to thickness so you have to club down to the 6. Also the head covers are terrible to get back on. Great review!

I got my set off of Amazon last month with the SW. I personally swapped the grips out with something more comfortable and I purchased a lazurus 60° LW. My thoughts, I personally enjoy the set. It's incredibly forgiving and I'm a huge fan of the driver. The hybrids are more toe angled which gives me a bit of a draw. The irons are consistent and the PW and SW are nice. Definitely worth the price I paid considering I'm a beginner golfer learning the game.

I bought this set in May of 2022. It came with D,3w,5w,5h,4h,9,8,7,6,pw,sw,putterand cart bag. But I got graphite shafts. I love them

Solid review, got these clubs today and found them really decent. HOWEVER I did get a sandwedge included in my set so no complaints there :D

I've literally ordered this set in the last hour. Should be delivered by Monday. Super excited as I've not played for about 10 years since a severe back injury. Fingers crossed I can make it around the course in one piece.

@@LetsPlayThru I have these with graphite shafts though a slightly different make up of clubs (I'm in England). The clubs are great, the bag is trash. The lowest compartment with the arched zip and the compartment with the flap have become one because the material between them is flimsy and has split. The zips are weak; one has broken completely and the two of the others stick. I've had this set about 3 months and I already need a new bag. Not impressed.

Another good video. Just bought my Callaway Edge set a few weeks ago (had to travel a bit like you did) but haven’t had the time to test them yet. Idea for a video in the off season: golf bag review/what to look for/what a golfer might need. Hope your health is doing well!

How have you liked the callaway edge set? I’m waiting until they’re back in stock to pick some up day Costco, I’ve been considering the Cobra set being reviewed in this video but I have a bias for the edge. Not sure why I think I’d prefer the edge over the cobras, but I’m a pretty new golfer. Any info would be super helpful. Thanks!

I have this Cobra box set but it’s the 2019 version. Bought it about 3 months ago as a brand new set from Amazon for about $750. I bought the senior flex set so all shafts are graphite. My set did have a 55 degree sand wedge and a 45 degree pitching wedge. The rest of the bag was driver, 3w, 5w, 4h, 5h, 6-9i, and that same putter. I added a 50 degree gap wedge and a Mavrik Max 3h as a utility club. I’m a beginning golfer and have been very happy with the set. Not sure why they wouldn’t have the sand wedge in the current version but your set looks identical to my 2019 version. $750 for all graphite shafts seemed pretty good.

@@LetsPlayThru Appears only a color change. Mine have a Cobra stock graphite shaft and Lamkin grips. The heads appear the same. What I noted (and it’s my only gripe) is that there is literally an unsealed cavity in the back that has a bit of a rough edge/unrefined look to it. It collects stuff in there. Other CB’s I’ve seen either have a cap insert or are a sealed design. If your heads are built like what I described, then I imagine they are the same product.

hi mate are the XL clubs longer in shaft length or do they come standard?

Year late on this but VERY recently made the choice to get into golf and didn’t know a good, relatively cheap set to go with but after this review I think I may have found the one especially since it seems they’ve updated the set to include a sand wedge while still being $900

I have the Cobra Superlite with carbon fiber shafts. My set came with 1w 3w 4-5 hybrid 6iron thru PW and included a SW. It's my first set of clubs, so I have no bias or experience with anything else. But I do notice my driver is 11.5, and it seems to hit very straight. I know this set is a step down from the package you reviewed.

I was looking at this set, but went with the Tour Edge HL 4. It has a couple extra clubs - 5 wood & a 56° sand wedge, for about the same price. Check that set out.

Just ordered this set last night. I’m pretty excited.

You are right. They aren’t bad, at least not horrible like the were 40 years ago. They aren’t great either but for a newbie these clubs do the job. It used to be that major manufacturers shunned starter sets because of fears they would taint people’s minds about the quality of the top end clubs. Now they realize that if someone starts playing with a brand, and if that brand is halfway decent, then the brand name will be stamped in the person’s mind.

Pretty nice looking starter set! If only they would replace one of the woods for a 5 iron and add a wedge. That bunker shot looked pretty hard with the pw. Yes, I've been gaming them the last 2 months. Been playing really well with them. Loving the extra distance and I'm getting them nice and high and stopping well on the greens. It's so close between the two. Honestly can't go wrong with either. I'll do a video breaking down that head to head comparison very soon.

In the late 90's I was fitted for a set of cavity back irons which I played with a very cheap driver. Now, retired, I have a part time job at a very nice country club and free golfing. So I'm getting into something that I never really ever started. I have two choices. Get this set, used, at $350 or keep my coustom set of irons and buy a high end driver like the Ai Smoke, for $600. I can always upgrade the rest later. What do you think?

This set comes with a sand wedge! You can check on Cobra’s website. I got it a month ago. There seems to be 2 variants, 11 piece and 13 piece. 11 piece doesn’t include 3W and 4H.

In Europe, you can only get the 11 piece set.

This was a good review of the Cobra set. But for my money I’d rather spend my money on the Costco Callaway Edge/Kirkland set from your other video.

Aloha, how does this compare to Stix? There almost about the same price. These Cobras are on sale at my local shop for $899 with bag. The 14- Stix set is without bag...shipping to Hawaii is NOT free. Total $1000(again no bag)

My first box set was driver, 3 wood, 3,5,7,9,& PW. 😂

Was between these and callaway costco set. The thing i didnt like about this set was didnt seem as versatile i think a 5iron or 4 hybrid would have been better. Also lack of a sandwedge. Also i carry so as great as bag looked, it didn't work for me. I think the cobra clubs look nicer

I agree with every one of those points. I'm glad you mentioned the bag. I meant to put that in the video. For a beginner, I would suggest a stand bag so they can carry. I think walking is a good way to get into golf. How are you liking the Edge set?

I had it...bought the Callaway edge set and definitely better with my irons now. Callaway is heavier heads so slower swing speeds the head makes up for if that is a problem. Putter is definitely better to. Had to really scale back on the power vs top flite putter. Picked up a stand bag and cart bag off offer up. Now I'm looking for a 50° wedge. Edge set goes from 45-55° I like the dark face of edge driver because you can see easily where you strike the face. I bought the TF from Dicks 249$ Callaway off offer up new unboxed 650. You can't find the Callaway very easy. Good luck

Man I really like those clubs, but I don’t know if I want to spend that much… I’m just a weekend warrior…lol I haven’t played in about 15 years… 😂 I know for a fact I don’t like the Wilson’s though my nephew had a set and the driver felt like a spaghetti noodle…😕
