Is This Plastic OVERRATED?! // Throwing Innova Halo Plastic ONLY!! // Disc Golf
What is good everyone! In todays video I headed out to Arthur O Fisher to test my luck on the front 9 with Innova halo discs only. I have always been a fan of the halo plastic especially in the Leopard3 and Wraith molds so it was fun challenge to try out. I felt pretty confident in these discs so I hope you enjoy the video. I have a halo destroyer and halo wraith that i use strictly forehand. Love it.
At least it didn't look windy! Never played a windless round at AOF, personally.

Is Halo star just normal Star plastic for the flight plate and Shimmer Star in the wing portion? I heard it's less abrasion resistant than normal Star, is that true?

The Halo is likely just a marketing name that means they use different color for the rim than the center which allows them in theory to use denser plastic for the rim but not necessarily. They could be trying to add Gyro (TM) effect without breaking the patents of Gyro (TM) technology by using denser plastic for the rim, but IDK if there's any evidence of that. I've got Mako3 and Roc3 with Halo plastic and man, do they suck. Both are very understable compared to flight numbers. I also have Thunderbird which is just like regular Thunderbird. Innova just had to do this because Trilogy went all in with it. If they work for you, just use it. If it makes no wonders, use some regular plastic. For me it's just an effect.

Why no Valkyrie??
wow your hawkeye is way more stable than my regular star plastic one (max weight). My hawkeye is as flippy as my slightly beat Gstar leopard3. does the halo make that big of a difference to the hawkeye? maybe I got one with a bit extra flip.

my star hawkeye is pretty dead straight so i'm shocked to see it be THAT stable for him haha

Tbh, AOF is one of my least favorite courses in the area. Just wide open, and most holes are too much for my weak old arm.

I find the plastic to be slightly stiffer and slightly more over-stable than regular star plastic. Not a huge difference though.
