The bags hanging on the tree are special fertilizer that can be injected into the trunk which supposedly works quicker and more efficiently.

It's interesting that you've discovered that Yunnan is the province with the largest number of ethnic minorities in China, and since ancient times, people from different dynasties have come to the border, so yes, there's a history here, and there's ethnic soul you've found.😊

As a Chinese, I have been very fond of your videos lately, which is very authentic. But I suggest you use translation software more often and try to communicate with the locals. They will recommend you to visit places worth visiting. But it's worth mentioning that when you go to a sales point in a scenic area, they are often expensive and not authentic haha

I often try using the translator a lot while off camera - usually on camera it slows down the pace of exploration. But definitely a lot of the places I visit are mostly from recommendations from friendly locals! Thank you for watching!!

12:22 I’m confused by your remarks of ‘this area has a lot of Vietnamese heritage’. I had no idea what you referred to. Vietnam was part of China in ancient times and Chinese culture has deeply influenced Vietnam since ancient time to nowadays. Btw there’s a concept called the Sinosphere, also known as the Chinese cultural sphere, which encompasses multiple countries in East Asia and Southeast Asia that historically were heavily influenced by Chinese culture, norms and traditions. The Sinosphere comprises Greater China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam.

@@ramblingbard the stone forest is only 84 kilometers from kunming city, which is one of China’s four natural wonders. you have actually been to one of them -- "those mountains and water in Guilin and Yangshuo" 桂林山水. the other two are Jilin rime and Three gorges of the Yangtze River. China is a socialism country, which has many state-owned companies, on top of that, I don't think China is much difference from other countries and rigions in the world. the government just does it job. there are both rich and unwealthy people living their life every day. so, just enjoy your stay here. definitely no need to get worried or nervous. if anything bad happens, you may ask policemen for help.
