    I make these Keto brownies twice a month. For awhile now I have integrated a low carb/keto lifestyle. I do add a few walnuts and Lilly’s chocolate pieces for added flavor. Once cooked I divide individual pieces to freezer bags and place in the freezer as a treat when wanted. It feels good to know you are not totally depriving yourself of some pleasantries. They are delicious.

    Love the fails!😂 To increase the chocolate flavor add 2teaspoons to 1 tablespoon of instant espresso powder to the cold water. For more fudgey brownies undercook them 2-3 minutes bc they cont cooking as they cool. These 2 tips are the secrets I learned over the years.

    Mahalo, Dennis, for testing this Keto box mix for us. I've successfully tried this mix several times, adding chopped nuts, putting choc chips on top, and baking in mini cupcake pan w/ less time (using toothpick to check doneness). They are a great little snack (1 Tbsp of batter each) esp when presented on a plate in the middle of a big dollop of whipped Kara coconut cream. Yum! Love your channel and your intrepidness!

    I reviewed these a few months back. For a box mix, they aren't bad as is and pretty clean keto if that matters to you. I found a recipe that makes great brownies from scratch but no keto version I tried compares to the original sugared version I began with to modify it to keto. They are still good. Good to have you back.

    I use this mix to make a mug brownie. 2 T. Melted butter 1/4 c. Brownie mix 1 egg. Stir until smooth and microwave for 90 seconds. I usually top with a squirt of whipped topping. I have also used a 1 t. of peanut butter. Lots of possibilities. I make mug cakes the same way with the yellow cake mix. I made some lemon curd tonight. I topped my mug cake with that.

    Needs walnuts or pecans. The best non-keto brownies I ever had were made with olive oil. Worth a shot. I wish these keto goodie mixes weren't so expensive. I've seen as high as $11 for one loaf of bread which is obscene.

    I tried this brand about a month ago. The key to making chewy brownies is using egg yolks instead of whole eggs. so replace the whites of the eggs with egg yolks pretty much. They came out super chewy and delicious! Please give it a try! Oh I also added a tablespoon of gelatin that’s all I really needed.. maybe I’ll try using a pack next time?

  • @BlackTieKitchen

    @BlackTieKitchen

    The yolks makes sense - we're adding more fat which is what makes it chewy. And the gelatin will hold extra moisture

    The easiest way to make a better brownie is to use a smaller pan or put a double batch of brownies in the same size pan (increasing the baking time, but not necessarily doubling it). It definitely works with regular brownies and Pillsbury sugar free brownies, though I have not tried it yet with the brand you are working on. Just eyeballing, I'd say you could squeeze a double batch of brownies in the first pan, if not the second. Of course, the brownies would be thick and have double the fat and calories, and that would be wrong.

    It's something Ive played with in the past, but have avoided - even unsweetened apple sauce can have a decently amount of carbs - which would be fine for low-carb, but considering it's a Keto mix, I opted to go for the more Keto friendly options!
