You guys should do an episode where Ryan has his bachelor party on and they discuss their whole experience during their trip lol
Hey, guys. I appreciate the shout-out. Thank you! That's one of my most detailed videos on my channel focusing on the construction of an attraction. Still with USH (almost seven years in August). Again, thank you!
Agree 100% with Ryan on the lap bars: they're not there to protect the riders, they're there to protect the ride from entitled jerks disembarking prematurely and RUINING the ride for everyone else.

My boyfriend and i got stuck on this ride for about 15 minutes. Which is fine except that we were stuck right in front of the hairdryer part that blows out cold air. Hy the time we got off the ride both of our allergies were a mess.

First a good Nintendo Direct. Now a new episode of For Your Amusement!? I don't have to work today!?!? Oh, Yeah. It is all coming together! Life for this one moment is ok. Thank you Ryan and Byron!
This is the cutest dark ride ever made. The storytelling, the queue, it’s perfect in every way. Gotta get one of these bad boys in Florida.
Guys,,, guys we love you but. It’s a guinea pig, and his name is NORMAN!! Haha MYRON is a cinnamon colored hamster from the 2nd movie! Great vid, just had to get that out.

Dream works land is an absolute joke and minion blast is even worse. That combined with simpsons and how run down men in black is studios is rough these days 😂😂
1. This ride won the Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement - Attraction in 2022! I was there for their case study presentation at the TEA Summit that year and it's very impressive they made what they did in the footprint they had. 2. The subjectivity of the World Class Attraction Test will be studied by listeners for years to come LMAO 💀 I definitely wish that someone here had been pulling for the ride harder during the scoring. Y'all passed some crazy ones in other episodes that were questionable lol 😂 but I'll use this as evidence if y'all pass something similar for another ride that was failed here
I love this show so much. You two are wonderful!
I really appreciate you guys covering this rides especially with my first impression not being the best. Going over all the crazy details of the ride makes me wanna give it another shot when I go next time
I remember when I subscribed to Watcher TV, spent the money, and we were told we’d get early access. You guys have not fulfilled that 100%. It’s hard to appreciate ya’ll even though I love the content and personalities.
Here's how cute this ride is--I had no intention of watching the movie ever and after riding I thought maybe I should. Also, the gift shop has some of the best merch anywhere. Maybe that should be a new category--how good is the exit through the gift shop?
This has become my go to podcast within the past week, its so niche and im entertained every single time. Can you guys please cover Expedition Everest at WDW Animal Kingdom, its my favorite attraction from any park
Who is gonna tell them that the guinea pig is not named Byron? lol
I'm sad you guys didn't have Poseidon on for this. He totally loves this ride
as ryan touched on in the beginning, I was definitely one of the folks that believed this ride was a screen based one and then I thought it was some sort of theater? idk but that was all based on the fact that it had a reserved time system so I was thrown off. interested to hear what I missed out on update: damn I messed up
As someone who opened that ride (was there before end of construction and still have my hard hat) I kept shouting so many fun facts! Also his name is Norman and he’s a guinea pig.
Didn't even know thos ride existed lmao
5 minute crew 🎉❤
45:28 This attraction opening was the final nail that closed The Walking Dead Attraction. Universal didn't want the juxtaposition of Pets exit and the Walking Dead entrance next to each other. That said Walking Dead had other issues, and the pandemic would have probably closed it even if SLOP didn't exist.
@naderzein2435

I only did the walking dead once but was SUPER bummed they got rid of it, thought it was awesome. I figured it was expensive to run with all the scare actors with amazing makeup effects too.

I like the idea of having a walk through haunted house, especially with live actors year round, but Walking Dead fell off hard, and it wasn’t super popular before it closed. I think if they bring back the idea it should be based on old and new properties, with different rooms. It might feel cheesy like an escape room, but i think it would hold interest more and age much better.
This would be a good dark ride for universal but I don’t understand why the ride vehicle is so restrictive. Especially for a ride that it’s slower than walking pace. I feel like at Disneyland they wouldn’t even have a seatbelt for a ride like this but here they strap you in like you are about to go on the mummy. Only reason why I don’t try and ride it as much. Still wish we would have gotten Yoshi instead.
Byron's a hamster? He looks more like a Guinea Pig.
Watching with my dog feels fitting for this one 😹
SLOP 😆 I’m so glad you guys covered this ride. This is the most amount of info I’ve heard about this ride all in one place.
Well know I feel like I've been missing out for not going on this ride on my universal hollywood trips
FUCK YEAH SPONSERS
First time I went on this it was my second or third trip out to Cali this opened at some point between those trips and I had no idea it existed. Wandered past it and was able to get right on. It was so cute and so well done, I absolutely loved it and couldn't understand how I had never heard of it with all the theme park stuff I follow. Glad to see I wasn't the only one who didn't know about it.
My wife and I went to Universal Hollywood for the first time last October and this was probably my favorite ride! Well this and the Backlot tour.
I love this ride even though I don't like the movie it's based on. The Secret Life of Pets movie has a meandering plot that's basically just an excuse for cute pet gags, but as the premise for a darkride that works great, and I think the puppy adoption plot is fun.
Always a good day when you come home to a new ep of FYA.
First time a do this one was with My cousins (all adults) they hate it, but i love it, some people need to learn to hace fun on this kind of rides PD My sis was mad bc she was a bulldog 😂
LOVE calling this ride "SLOP" 😆😆
Love the shirt idea
Listening on the train Nothing better to relax to
Best day of the week :)
My family is literally in the airport to head home from universal, so we just went on this ride for the first time a couple days ago! We all loved it, including my teenage boys. And I kept saying, "finally, REAL sets with REAL stuff!" I, also, hope the trend continues, because screen rides are freaking lame and they make me nauseous.
This podcast 😩🙏🙏🙏
Ah a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one!
Well now I need to know the prom story
Regarding the Minions easter eggs -don’t forget the magnets on the fridge in one of the apartments!
I'm bummed that Ryan shut Byron down when he was trying to discuss how restrictive the ride is. Many people can NOT ride it. I have more details in a video I made, but while I waited on the passholder preview/bonus day, I got special attention from a team member who got me on the ride in a wheelchair because the cars are so restrictive. As I waited i saw approximately five other people get turned away for not fitting, and they were not posters a wheelchair like I was. That said, I am not a ride engineer, but I won't how much more difficult it would have been to make a wider range for the lap bar.
AM I THE ONLY WHO THINKS ABOUT THIS? I think Kali river rapids should get a jungle cruise retheme. It fits the asia theme. Since the story takes place in India. Imagine going on the rapid listening to bare necessities. Also I think they should demolish the little mermaid show and Star Wars launch in Hollywood studios and build cars land.
19:50 PAUSE BRO LMAOOOO
The second time we ever rode this, my brother dubbed thee as SLOP and nothing else. Sadly though, he said that this is the ride he hated the most 😅
hope you told byron the embarassing prom story after the recording session 😂

Don't you dare shorten my deadline ;) - Byron
SLOP is actually a traditional dark ride. Bring these back!
This ride is the first time I've disagreed with you on the average tourist test, I'm a certified theme park nerd and didn't get on SLOP at universal because I didn't know about the virtual queue and by the time I tried to get on they'd closed it for the day with no standby 😢
@watcherpodcasts
Ай бұрын
Honestly, there's a good chance I would have failed this a couple years ago. But it seems like they've phased out the virtual queue for SLOP. If it returns... we reevaluate haha- Byron
I thought the firework scene was a projection effect not a screen. Am I wrong?
Adding SLOP ride to my to do list....
This ride 100% fails in accessibility/easiness to get on because larger guests struggle to fit in it which is RARE for a slow moving ride like this.
wonder if they will capitalize on all the controversy and trend around Tiana's Bayou Adventure and do that one soon. Though i guess its only for passholders right now.
I will pay you a house to do the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man video immediately
Irrelevant I know but hell yeah Spider-Man rules-- I ride that thing like five times any time I get to go to Universal. Spidey's my guy and "Headlines!," "Nice shades," "You're not insured for this!" are all just Love that ride And I don't like the SLoP movie but I'm very glad this ride exists. I heard "64 animatronics" and I was in.
Ryan it's a guinea pig not a hamster lol
The lap bar Shouldn't be there the vehicle goes slow and it just makes it so that bigger guests can't get on
I rode The Secret Life of Pets attraction last year and thought it was really cute. However, when it comes to the movies while they do have their charm and funny moments, the first one was literally Toy Story but with pets. It’s almost best for beat a ripoff of Toy Story 1 & 2
Great episode, hope this podcast keeps going! SPOILER . . . . . . . . . . I can't believe this is a world class attraction but Mr Toad's Wild Ride isn't. I would put this ride on the same level as Monster's Inc, which is another ride that failed the world class attraction test. SLOP is unfairly compared to Minions, which makes everything else looks better

The only issue I have with universal is the the IPs they pick. They could use so much better ones yet they do stuff like this or make an entire land for how to train your dragon in the new park. 😂😂😂😂

A live action version of How To Train Your Dragon is coming out next summer so I'm sure there's some synergy going on there that made it a good pick as a land in Epic Universe
