Literally the only bad thing about this podcast is that I always watch it all in one sitting basically as soon as it comes out and then have no more new episodes to watch for another week lol. I’m already on my like third watch-through of all of the old episodes at this point 😂😂. I listen to a metric fuckton of pods and it’s crazy how quickly this pod has climbed to the top of my list. Love absolutely everything about it!

@@mangojules5736 for me, I have been a huge fan of Ryan and Shane since their buzzfeed days and have been following them for a few years now. I’ve been a loyal Watcher fan as well and watch everything they put out. As with myself, I had heard Ryan also mention his interest in theme parks in various videos before, so when this pod started it felt like an absolute perfect fit for my overlapping interests. Watcher _and_ theme parks rolled together into one? Yes please! I truly hope they never stop. As you said, we are all very much invested in this pod, no matter what view numbers (which honestly aren’t bad for such a niche topic) may suggest. Long live FYA! I’ll be watching them as long as they keep making them. It’s just a fun show, ya know?

green goblin's grenades are called pumpkin bombs, if anyone's wondering. no worries for not knowing this since none of the films ever name them iirc, and they're certainly a much bigger deal in comics (most commonly, they contain a gas that weakens or even eliminates peter's spider sense. some more goofy applications of pumpkin bombs include the carnage bomb, which is covered in the symbiote and can literally bite people) sorry for being the spiderman nerd and commenting anyway lol

Oof - this ride... The 3D glasses experience is even worse if you also wear actual prescription glasses - last time I spent most of the ride just trying to keep them from flying off. Fwiw, I don't remember having that problem with Spider-Man, or any other 3D screen attraction.

Love this podcast! It is such a welcoming kind of set up that makes you feel like you’re part of the discussion with the guys and guests - sometimes I find myself muttering in agreement or stating my own opinion (before thanking whatever is listening that I’m in my car and not in a supermarket aisle). The rides vary from ones I’ve ridden many times to not at all, and I love the mix of parks. Often I can picture myself with the guys there amongst the crowds and queues, hearing the tracks and smelling the theme park atmosphere. So nostalgic and my moment each week to get away to my favourite theme parks, or favourite must dos. Side note - not only is the content great, but the hosts too. I’ve followed Ryan for years, but this introduced me to Byron and there is such a good dynamic between the two that only comes from being friends and sharing an interest. I tagged both in a post whilst in DLP listening to Haunted Mansion and Byron actually DM’ed me to thank for listening. It was so friendly a gesture, that if the content hadn’t already hooked me, that would have kept me a loyal listener. I loved our conversation about rides, and was amazed when he not only knew of Alton Towers (worked there for 5 years) but discussed Nemesis/Nemesis Reborn with me. Genuine good guys. If you ever get over to the UK for a spin on Smiler Byron, I’d happily sub you a ticket and show you around just to witness first hand this amazing passion for rides. Thanks for a genuinely brilliant podcast guys!

I'm not going to lie. If hollywood where to get rid of their transformers' ride, I kind of hope they retheme it to the Jurassic World Ride from Bejing. I dont know if they use the sa.e lay out of the transformers' ride, but they use the same ride vehicle just with more audio animatronics. To me, it's the best version of this simulation type ride vehicle out there. But yet again, it's just the same story of the water ride we have here, don't know if it will make sense having two JW rides in the same park.

Huge Transformers fan here and I loved this ride when I went on it for the first time, but I can definitely see that it would get old after a couple more. Very fair criticisms. But goodness the amount of times I wanted to jump in and add asterisks and corrections to the facts about Transformers as a whole! The biggest: the films have already been rebooted! Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts were originally intended as prequels but are officially the start to a new iteration of the franchise, unrelated to the other Bay movies

Minor corrections. Tomy is pronounced “TOE-mee” as it’s a Japanese name and that’s how their vowels are pronounced. Beast Wars, without spoiling storylines, takes place before humans exist on earth but in the same universe. It’s surprisingly better than I expected. And just a few bad parts about the ride for me: The arm that pops out of our ride vehicle, EVAC is just an ugly design choice. Such a dork for sure. And I agree about the spinning to force you to look in a direction. None of it felt anything but “because ride”. It’s like Haunted Mansion done poorly.

Last April I went to Universal Studios Hollywood and did the VIP tour, which took us on this attraction. I’m glad I can say I rode it, but I felt no need for a repeat ride. I ran into some guys on my tour later in the day and they said they got on a second time but had to be evacuated off it and it never reopened the rest of the day. Message from the Future: Japan actually doesn't feel that way about Transformers: Takara actually adopted the Transformers brand a year or so after it was out in America (and was successful) replacing the old lines that Hasbro had built thier Transformers line from - and in fact Takara/Tomy/Takara-Tomy put out toys in years when Hasbro didn't.

Went to Universal Florida last month. The only rides I went on that weren't 3D rides were the water rides. The 3D rides made me so nauseous it ruined my park day. Last year I rode spiderman twice in a row, would not recommend. I was half way through this transformers ride and I was like damn I should have just gone on spiderman cause they are damn near identical. Like same beats and everything. Good lord please pit me outside where I can breathe. I did not pass the smartphone test just to look at a screen on a ride! Also I need some more Universal coasters that are fast, fun, that don't go upside-down. I am a wuss, and I don't want to go through the crowded hogwarts just to go to the only non upside-down coasters. Rant rant rant :P

Idk why Ryan is against .5 scores. I think it adds more nuance to the score!

This ride almost never has a long wait at Universal Orlando. I’ve never seen it higher than 15 minutes in my recollection. It’s not the best ride and I think people see it as a filler attraction. Last time I went I was the only one in my ride vehicle when I rode it - that’s how empty it was! Generally I don’t like any Universal rides though - there are too many screens everywhere. The only decent rides now at UO are Hagrid’s, Velocicoaster, and Jurassic Park if you’re in the mood to get wet.

They’re moving away from relying on screens. They have been for a few years. Epic Universe is gonna be awesome and not screen reliant

Back to the Future 3D was one of, if not the best ride. But I got on it one time, and a year later, I went back and it was gone. Can you give us a review of it even if the ride doesn’t exist anymore? Just want to understand what was so great about it. Or how about for science?😜✌️

I think this ride should've passed the Tony Stark test, it's the first ride to combine elevators and media in such a way (a tech that would later be used on rise of the resistance). The technology used on this ride is so good 99% of the people riding it don't even realize it takes place on two separate stories.

I used to go to parks w my family every summer growing up, this podcast reminds me of how much I loved it and has woken up my love for amusement parks and my appreciation for the way attractions come to be. I hear so many podcasts about the same things, it’s fun to listen to one I wouldn’t normally and have a balance between serious “park head” content and fun silly goofy things added in that show you have fun and get joy from this! It’s infectious ❤
