That wax wood stick is really cool! I just found fatwood for the first time and it came in clutch starting my fire last weekend when everything was so damp! I definitely want to get good at starting fire with natural materials, but having a little help can save your butt when you need it!

Wax wood stick reminds me of Eric's Tinder Torch. It should float too. Thanks for sharing these Ernie.

It's pretty cool! makes me wonder about making wax impregnated cotton balls instead of cotton balls and vaseline. I hate getting my hands covered in vaseline at camp.

@@kayveroutdoors5411 I've often thought of that as well. experiment with your own mix of parafin wax and maybe a light accelerant or liquid fuel. See if you could keep it solid under most outdoor temp conditions but have it take a spark and catch better than just vasoline.

Great review! You should try the new Fire Plugs (production hangar 51) and see how they compare with the other fire starting options. Also thought about the best fire starting for those of us in the Midwest when the temp is -5F (or last week at -30F (-50 wind chill))

I talked with the guy at PH51 and he said the fire plugs wont be in the making for much longer which kinda sucks I think because their wax wood stick is my fav. as well along with fat rope stick and the famous UST Wetfire.
