You can make a fire starter like that for your personal use. All that's needed is a Tampon and some Candle wax. Melt the wax and then dip the tampon in the wax for about a minute , hang it to dry. When dry cut them into disks , fluff them and then I use a Fero Rod to light them. Or leave them solid and cut when needed. I learned it from a Tube video several years ago.

That's a good video Ernie. It seems like a real good product. I have a few fire starters from another company which are similar to the stick you used and the plug style. However, will it soak up water? Like when you go underwater with a canoe or whatever, all your gear is soaked... will these things still work?
