Is the New TaylorMade P790 better or worse than 2019?

Iv just been custom fitted for a set,and the biggest thing for me was the improvement in my decent angle and stopping power.really good clubs.
Hi Andy I have been looking to own a set of these irons for a long time just need to justify paying that amount of money and saving up for them now seeing your video to witch I do watch all your stuff now there is a lot of hope maybe the older set will be in my bag they do look fantastic thank you 😊
They took those golf clubs to the best plastic surgeon in Hollywood. They are beautiful. Getting rid of offset is something I agree with. I've got clubs with offset and those without, I use clubs without offset. Personally; I don't see any difference in performance (with offset) but visually it makes the club look "the are about to brake". Great Camera work (once again), getting that crisp zone 8 white to have detail and still getting details in the zone 1 and 0 dark black foliage pure class, Ansell Adams would be glad to see this.
Hi Andy. Great video. My wife surprised me for Christmas with these. Your SS is just few mph more than mine. Curious what shafts you were hitting. My best dispersion were the 105 s300. But i am 55 and was thinking of the 95g as i get older and want to keep these awhile?
Well I have recently updated my irons to Wilson D7 forged second hand. Pristine condition and had lie angles tweaked after a fitting with my pro coach. Saved 30% on the new price which I will use towards new woods once ready for them swing wise, currently too inconsistent to justify £300 per wood
Good honest review as always mate like you said not enough difference between them to make most people change think I will be sticking with my Callaway Apex 19s loving the channel bud

Thank you Dave
Another honest video Andy, had the old version, tried the new version failed t see the difference
I've the 2017 model. The first time I can bring myself to buy TM irons. Love the looks, forgiveness and enhanced distance from 8 iron down, where the power bar/slot evident at the bottom of the sole might be the factor. However I find my mid to longer irons struggle with distance consistency, when the club face has a "hot" effect. I read elsewhere that this is a common problem with the 2017 model. Not sure if the newer models suffer the same plight?
great review. So Andy, if you had to order your very last meal today, what would it be?
Well, I already have a combo set with the P770 and 2019 P790 - and I don’t intend to replace the 4-7 irons with the new model - even though the bag would look nicer if I did. A friend of mine (+1 hcp) is upgrading his P790 to the new model though. He found he gained 5 meters and were more consistent with the new model. So I guess I’ll have to try them when he gets them next month. Just a comment on the offset - I believe there is no difference between the 2019 and 2021 version. Both 7-irons are 2,7 mm. The P770 though is 2,4 mm.
How would you bend the lofts if you combo the 790/770?
Just spent $500 4 the 2019"s, love them!
Oh so close to 50k subscribers Andy ... :)
Just don't know if I could ever get used to that clicky sound. I've been playing true forged irons for many years and having hit the 19 and 21 model neither one of them have a true forged feel to me. They are fantastic looking irons and seem to perform very well, they just lack the sound and feel I prefer in my irons.

It’s not a blade. It’s a player’s iron
2nd year back playing after a 30 year hiatus had the aeroburners for the first year just got fitted for the new P790 handicap 17 hopefully with this new set it will start to fall
Have I missed something I thought you tested the p790’s on the course …..🤷🏻♂️..keep the reviews coming 👌🏻 Have the m1 irons looking to get the p790’s as looking for a bit more length and consistency having stronger lofts and more forgiving at the top end

@@TheAverageGolfer I have a chance to get both of these sets but the 0311 Gen 3 will cost me less than the P790’s. Which would be your pick ?

Ariesnc I personally still prefer the feel of the GEN03, but performance of both are similar
I still prefer the 2017 model.
Just Been fitted and ordered 2021 P790 can't wait.... currently playing 15 year old Nike Vapor pros hopefully there has been big improvement in iron tech in 15 years!!!!!!
I don't know about they're performance but the cost is outrageous.

1200 isn’t really that bad. Your getting a lot of tech for the price. True blades tend to be the most expensive and there no tech in them at all.

Sadly it’s just how much clubs cost nowadays man. It stings
Are these the clubs that PXG sued them over??
Don't like the finish chrome way better.
I think the 2019 ones look better. Shelf appeal is only one thing though I suppose.

For me it would be hard to pick since them and the other P series are all gorgeous. First time I saw the P790s I thought those were the best looking clubs I’ve ever seen.
The 2021 model is one of the best looking irons but one of the worst sounding irons.
TM make good clubs, much to be said for marginal gains 😉
