Good review. Just a slight critique. It would be great if we could see the cluster while u drive instead of ur face lol. Like a drivers pov.

I own a 2014 Optima SX 2.4 with 192 HP.....I definitely would prefer the GT with 295 HP...Even better is the K9, but I don't think it's offered here in the States (at least not yet) once you see the K9 you can't settle foe anything less!

The K9 here is Genesis, K5 will be offered in GT shortly.

Well it’s an Optima, not luxury at all. It’s a small car that’s not a hybrid and still gets good gas mileage.

It would be cool if the Kia logo light up, and if the front /near the lights but in the middle also light up at night.

The LXS and EX trims should have an optional hybrid system. It’s available in Korea but still hasn’t made its way to the US. Kia and Hyundai have some pretty decent hybrids and people in the US clearly prefer them over non-Tesla EV’s-though the Hyundai/Kia EV’s seem to be increasing their monthly sales.

That's our market with the cost cutting. KIA has nothing to do with it. Of course they get all of the features because it's their market. I assume our market want to focus on the hybrids with the Sonata instead of K5. There's some features Sonata has that the K5 don't and vice versa. If Hyundai and KIA were American cars, then we will get all the bells and whistles. Because its an import, something gotta give to make the price competitive. The bright side is that both Hyundai and KIA still have performance model sedans. Toyota and Honda both got rid of their performance models in place for hybrids. There's enthusiast who still want a performance sporty sedan. Not everyone desire to have a hybrid. If you want a hybrid, you will have to get the Sonata.

Hows the SOUND SYTEM? No one ever address's how the stereo sounds. You didn't show the panoramic sunroof. Otherwise nice review.

@bb.jannaho1886 Gt line front/awd has the same bright lights and still includes fog lights. The removed rear AC vents and a 360-degree camera for the GT line. Last year the GT line was the top model.

​@Brayant25 It's called "cost cutting," my friend. Something has to give to make the price competitive in U.S. market. You only get all of the features if you live in South Korea, where KIA and Hyundai are based at. That explains why this particular model K5 cost less than the competition. You want a hybrid, you will have to get the Sonata. And this is not Hyundai and KIA doing. It's our market, which they decides which top features will be best for the American market. There's some features we get that the Canadian market don't get and vice versa.

​@@Brayant25GT-Line NEVER been the top of the line model for KIA K5. GT-Line is just the sportier aesthetic of the LXS trim. Everyone knows the EX is the luxurious model. Here's the trims in order..LXS, GT-Line, EX, and GT. KIA had a base LX trim, but discontinued that trim for the refresh.

I don't think the new granny Camry has fog lights either but I could be wrong.

It is better than Accord. Accord has lots of good things going for it so it’s not trash but Honda got stingy and cut corners and doesn’t even have vents in back seats and bass sounds awful standard. No fog lamps. Even CRVS turn off while in park for a few minutes without option to disable. Go K5!
