Always loved the looks. I've seen 100s in traffic but they still turn my head

I love the K5s, just bought one recently. While I do think the 2025 still look great, I think the headlight/daytime lamps looked better on the 2021-2024 year models. Have the amber lamps go above the headlights rather than under them as they did previously makes them look more like the 2024 Corollas. Again, it still looks great! I just think the 2021-2024 ones looked a bit more unique. I may like these tail lights more though.

I love how the K5 GT has the neon green brake calipers like the EV6 GT. I hope KIA makes that a trend for all of their GT models.

That was a great review. The optima was also called magentas in overseas market, but was optima in the US.N and overseas they had Claris b before the optimist slash magenta I would also say in the intro that I review knew we were released cars in the South Korean market

finally a car with a cool, agressive sporty look, and then it is not available in europe. We have all the other kias here, but the best looking one is not coming to us. Still, there is a hope that the next version will come to us, but i sadly doubt it.

Damn, I didn't really like the 2024 but this 2025 looks really good

I am waiting for Kia K5 to come to Mexico. I am willing to switch my VW GLI for a K5... Great review, I also like the ride for Korea streats.

A 2016 kia optima owner here. My car was good until the engine and transmission had to be replaced at 165k kms..hope kia has fixed all the engine issues and transmission issues with this new model..just giving cosmetic upgrades are not enough to be a reliable car..comon kia .u can be more reliable and a brand one can consider..

will there be a k5 hybrid in the US

Briefly mentioned about the two in the video, but Id lean towards Sonata given the personal taste. One isn’t necessarily superior over the other, it is quite the personal taste.

Problem with Sonata N line is the lack of AWD or LSD which means the car is just burning out the front tires. Hopefully Kia K5 remedies this issue.

It i's a Signature trim here in Korea, probably has a different name for your market. It's nearly loaded model next to Black Fit.

Not so sure as it will depend on Kia USA. I sure do hope it's offered, at least that BOSE.

Thanks for the review, I've an older optima and there's a few things I think this newer generations are missing : The shifter design is a bit insecure in my opinion (although the paddles are awesome) The older designs are up to 2.7L, so cutting off the 2.7 and the 2.5 doesn't seem like a hood thing from Kia Other than that is the second best Kia car just after the Stinger.

Very nice review, you know what to look at and how to talk about it. I don't like: - The 'squarish' rims - The side view, something in the back is missing, maybe the last window should have been longer to show the body better - The not physical buttons for AC control - The dash, i prefer a closed dash with screen inside, not just the screen simply put on the dash I do like: - The front look, nice grill, very nice lights - The back, visually nice - The speaker upgrade, JBL is just not enough, misses some strong bass. By the way, it is possible that KIA outputs fake engine sounds through the speakers when you put it in Turbo mode. My Kia Proceed 1.6 TGDI does this, unfortunately.

Thanks for sharing! HMG cars do use artificial engine sounds using speakers called many names: Active Sound Design, N Active Sound + and such.

did you test the Sonata Htrac 2024 2.5L seen one in canada Hyundai carry the AWD version to canada maybe the last year for Sonata in Canada

It's called Signature trim here in Korea, trims have different names for diff markets. It's close to being fully loaded.

I've always preferred the look of the K5 over the Sonata, but no hybrid 😞 Maybe a PHEV in the future??

There are a few themes you can choose from.

Those side view monitors on the dash are something else. There's no excuse for cutting anyone off when changing lanes.

Optima was always the sportier of the two. For some reason Sonata was brought up to be sporty yet it is not quite there lacking a lsd...

I already miss Stinger...

The dual climate/volume controls is a near deal breaker for me. I would get the sonata just because they have separate knobs despite having a cheaper interior.

The only reason I wanted a Kia k5 was cause the headlights. They changed the headlights for the 2025. Used to have a 23 and I loved it. But they changed the headlights for the 2025 but I still am a fan of K5.

exterior is cool but i think the interior looked better on the previous model

I Wish the KIA forte had a similar design, I prefer compact sedans :)

I hate the fact that we don’t get this in Australia, our market has become a very heavy Ute and SUV country with very low sedan sales that we miss out on awesome sporty sedans such as this, at least we have the Sonata N Line though, that car is such a beast.

I can’t wait to get this next year but I still hate that they won’t offer AWD on the GT so I’ll just have to get a GT-Line. I refuse to drive a FWD where I live. Also too bad KIA abandoned the heartbeat DRLs those should’ve been the K5 signature

Not sure if I'm getting the question right, but all Hyundai & Kia cars get the same 12.3 in monitors.

It’s almost perfect just the steering wheel is looking kinda old. Bring us KIAs take on the 2024 Santa Fe’s beautiful steering wheel and I’m sold.

I personally do not like the driver-centric angled climate controls. My gf already hates the fact the Elantra has the passenger handle and she def. would not like her climate controls facing away from her 😂😂. I do find the facelift better than the Sonata's. The 2.5L g70 came into the states... maybe the rumors of Genesis making a hybrid GV70 might be something I will be interested in as well. So much to look forward to, I will probably give the K5 a spin once its arrives in the states though.

Only the rear heated seats and the side buttons to move the passenger seat forward won’t be included in the US

The panel that switches between radio and heat controls is the biggest pain in the ass. My daughter’s new sportage has it and I absolutely hate driving it because of that. This option will make me pass on any vehicles equipped with it

Beautiful style but I'm not paying that money for a 1.6 l turbo😅 if I'm buying a car a midsize car I expect to have a midsize car engine like 2.5 l not 1.6 turbo the car is pretty and I like the accoutrements but I will not spend my hard-earned money for that

I heard a rumor that Kia is bringing back the Stinger but its going to be an EV. Has anybody heard the same thing? I loved that car as it had a liftback. This K5 is really nice too although the trunk opening seems kinda small even if the overall trunk volume is large. Love the key fob too.

@@porfiriato84 hmmm, I wish it would be that price but EVs have historically been super expensive compared to its gasoline alternatives. My guess the price will be starting around mid 70s and could top off close to mid 90s which is sad but unless the cost of batteries drops significantly then pricing will be a challenge.

The only mistake I think KIA made was not having the option on the gauge screen of more traditional looking, analog-type gauges. I'm not at all a fan of the gauge 'cluster'. Perhaps I'm just too old,🤣

I prefer the previous design.... the facelifted one is just too much. However I love the interior. Not fancy or luxurious but it looks modern and clean.
