Don't know much about kirk Macdonald. New fresh face in the organization though. Hopefully he can get wbs as a annual contender. Dont think jarry gets traded. Only 2nd year of his contract and decently high cap hit. If the pens are able to move him I would turn around right after and contact nashville about juuse saros. Pld is a decent player and could help the capitals immensely. Caps have some decent young talent. Pld centering ovi and wilson would be a big physical line. Edmonton is bringing it to panthers the last 2 games. Still very hard to come back from 3-0 series deficit. It would be an amazing feat if they can do it

Its definitely similar - maybe Jarry ever so slightly less. Theyre on a similar tier of goalie caliber. Both have some injuries and consistency issues. Jarrys term hurts him compared to Markstrom but his age helps.

The next few weeks are some of the most interesting as a hockey fan. Trades, the draft, free agency. Seems like today the offseason activity started despite the postseason still going on. Unpopular opinion, but hockey should not be dragged out until almost July, which it's going to be if there's a game 7 lol.

Oh I don’t think that’s unpopular at all! I hate that games are still being played. I think teams told Bettman that time’s up today. They’re ready for moves

I would being Jarry back wait for him to start off well and trade him mid season. Also I doubt Blomqvist is ready yet

I’d like to see Blomqvist be the starter for another season with WBS.

I’m sure they’re gonna keep Jarry and I figure very little changes gonna be made! I’m afraid next year the Pens will suck again! That ain’t good!!!

Jarry for Dubois would have worked out long term! 🔮

I’d stay away from Dubois. He’s locked into a long term contract and has reputation of being a very selfish team mate and he’s earned the reputation of being a locker room cancer. I’d stay as far away from that guy as possible.

@@cw9515 I know good luck, Dubois’s track record of wearing out his welcome is showing: The fallout in Columbus was awful, two in a half season’s in Winnipeg, only one season with LA and he wasn’t very good this year. He’s got talent when he wants to be good, but he’s a head case that’s locked into a terrible contract.

I don't see Dubas trading Jarry for the little bit that Calgary got from NJ. Keep him, fix the team defense, so that he's not facing a ridiculous amount of breakaways and odd-man rushes.

@@jsebby2284 Calgary retained 30% freeing up cap space for additional signings the draft pick should be a much lower pick. Both ullmark or saros are gonna cost a lot more then nj gave up. So Pittsburgh retains cost they could get something this trade showed that but it won’t be as much as markstrom. The problem you will have is who will trade for him now that nj got there goalie LA got there goalie and Ottawa is going after ullmark. I guess Toronto or Carolina but neither of those teams are gonna pay a lot.

@mike8099m right Calgary retained - but hypothetically the Pens could do the same. All I'm trying to say is there i dont think there should be this wide discrepancy in value between Markstrom and Jarry. It shouldn't go from 1st round pick and young NHL player(Markstrom) to pay to dump and get nothing in return(Jarry). Sure at this point Jarry might return a little less - but I think it should be somewhat similar Of course Ullmark and Saros will cost more - they're better goalies

McDavid only wins the Conn Smythe if the Oilers win the series. If Bob has a great game, he gets it, otherwise, Barkov.

@@LockedOnPenguins As was said about McDavid during the podcast, the Conn Smythe is for the playoff MVP, not just the series. If Bob keeps it to one or two goals, in a Panthers game six win, he'll get the trophy. Even with the last two games, he's still got a .908 with 2.35 GAA and 2 shutouts. If Edmonton wins, McDavid is the hands down winner. Has Draisaitl even been on the ice during the Final? LOL Seems like he hasn't .

Oh I know, I just think Barkov has been a step above Bob in the playoffs overall imo. Agreed on Leon though, outside of Game 4, he’s been BAD

@@LockedOnPenguins I agree that Barkov deserves as much consideration as Bob. The media, however, has spent most of the playoffs pointing out "Playoff Bob" and how the Panthers success was due to him "goalie-ing" their opponents. Until game four, the team defense was so good that Sasha kinda blended in with the rest of them.

here my hot take if mdavid made comeback and win series won cup and mvp and broke anothery the great one recore most points in one playoff run i feel he could top2 player of all time and better then wayne d mario sid or who ever and if he does that
