I would have gone for mate 10 if it had water proofing. Mate 10 pro has that but I don't like 18:9 , hate those bars when you watch KZread .

Maria Kileen the non pro version has ip53... Look at Pixel's or HTC's ip53 water test. A guy drops his Pixel in a bowl of water for a hour and it survives so that 200$ more for the Pro is only justified if you really need a OLED display or you plan to swim with your phone every day. I wouldnt want the Pro because od that 18:9 ratio. I hate it, makes every video smaller and just feels too tall.

Maria Kileen but their phones are compatible with water even though it is not water resistance I have mate 10 lite and nothing was happened to it when I dropped it to water.

There is simply not enough to make me upgrade from my Mate 9 to Mate 10...if I were to pick what I wanted in the Mate 10 on top of what Mate 9 has I would've said 3 things kirin 970, 6 gb of RAM, OLED display and then leave the slightly better cameras and Ip67 for the PRO version.

Haven't had time to test it out yet, but I assume it should be slightly better than the Mate 9, if the power efficiency on the Kirin 970 claimed by Huawei is true.

Mate 10 Pro here, about 2 days battery usage, and 6-7h screen on time.

your description of its camera seems like a pro-grade DSLR or mirrorless quality...

If they just put the fingerprint scanner on the back of the Mate 10 and same with the Mate 10 Pro, I would buy the Mate 10, the fingerprint scanner on the front seems kinda useless since you use the Navbar

Can you show how Microsoft Word or excel looks like when in desktop mode?

Kinda off topic but the Mate 9 is selling right now for $400, I'm thinking of upgrading from my Honor 8. I think the Mate 10 will be around 800+, the price is kinda steep for me but I kinda like it (Specially the pro at 900+). Will I be missing a lot if I settle for the Mate 9? Is the 10 worth the 400-500 premium over the 9?

unparalleled..in fact..no company rater it be Apple, Samsung, and LG have phones that could compete with the battery life of any Huawei phones

I’d like to get the mate 10 pro but $900+ is way to much anything over $600 for a phone is ridiculous to me. I have an iPhone 8 Plus that I received as a gift. Maybe even $700 if it’s got a one of a kind look and a lot of features I’d actually use but not 900

huntb1969 I agree about prices. I have a flagship phone edge last year's model and I can say it is never as valuable as all manufactures appreciate it.every year up and up prices.Crazy. I am satisfied with the phone .. everything that is over 500-700 € is too much. At the end of the end, at least huawei is "struggling with the low"price maybe among the only ones only and because others lift them up and then they descend ... and this is the problem.(google..)If everyone knew real factory price - the stroke would hit them for All phone s,h,lg,ip.. Ok.This phone is the best for me. It is said in the eu (SLO) the price should be somehow worth, I can say and i hope .

I got my Huawei mate 10 pro for like almost $700 I think but I don't know about the mate 10.

It's not glass back it's glass coating on aluminum

I saw you connect a ASUS MB16AC portable monitor to the phone with a type-c cable, have you find a type-c hub that can do the charging while connect to the monitor? zulhilmi abdullah yes LDAC from sony is now open to public thx to Sony and Google, comes with andriod phone version 8.0 at the moment, luckily, Huawei mate 10 is operating on andriod 8.0 system, so yes it will have LDAC, apx, etc.

On the mate 10

It worth the money the value of this smartphone is great. RM2000 currently.

It is splash resistant, IP67 water resistant is only available on Mate 10 Pro.

That's the main reason I buy Huawei, zero screen retention, LG and Samsung LCD, my god not even 6 months old they have screen retention. P9, Mate 8, Mate 9, Mate 10 no screen retention!!!!.

I'll wait for Mate 11 when Huawei finally adds wireless charging.
