well, its a crisis if you open mass amounts of cases lol. Im also invested in cases, but its crazy how widespread the case shortage has gotten. was expecting rare drops to increase, not active cases

Not sure if anyone has noticed this yet, but if you do the econ preview command that was found a few weeks ago, it seems like the opening animation has been fixed (as in the start of the opening bugging out and showing nothing is gone), the animation now goes through until it's next to the item you'd "get" and then shows a server error. I assume this means they're gearing up to add case opening into cs2?

and with everyone only getting 1 case per week, eventually the cases will run out. its too little in my opinion

it's normal that case prices are going up, csgo average 1million players per day, let imagine in a perfect world that each day that 1million players are completely new, so each week would be 7million players getting 7million cases, in 4 weeks or 1 month equals to arround 28/30million cases (Assuming every single person gets the weekly case) if people are opening 30million+ Cases per month the supply will not keep up and prices will go up ofc

even simpler math. if each person on average opens more than 1 case a week. boom supply deficit. now you got people that open 20 cases at a time. thats 20 weeks of that persons drops opened in 10 minutes.

Hold em. When CS2 releases fully with the case opening function actually working as intended, new players will flock to the game and likely devour cases like mad. More players, higher demand, higher price

While it’s gotten better I feel when cs2 drops it might be ever worse then when the game was first revealed.

in exchange they'd increase key prices so the skins market doesn't crash too, skins mostly went up during the crisis because of the increase in case prices.

Cs2 releasing might just end it all. The amount of degenerates gambling on that day will be ridiculous.

I had 300 Chroma 2 cases in a storage unit 2 years ago and sold them when they were like .50$ because i bought them for 0.03$ . . . Theyre almost 3$ now :|

You keep referring to these case prices as being bad... Bad for who? Players have a chance to get dropped a case worth real money, most of the time it is going back into the steam ecosystem, helping the future of the market, and in some rare cases, this could lead to life changing money, especially for those who live in poorer countries. People who would be playing a free game on steam... If you mean it is bad for degen gamblers like yourself, then sorta? but cry me a river. You are the one choosing to pay these prices.
