35 years ago when I was nine I got my first Abu Garcia. An ambassador 6500 c3. It still works today after catching thousands upon thousands of fish. Abu makes the best reels. Sure shimano reels proform amazing and are overall a little smoother but if you catch big fish they won't last. I own every brand. But Abu is the one you get if you want to pass it down for generations. My newest is my revo toro beast. Its amazing for big swimbaits, A rigs and muskie. Brings them in with no problem. And those sx's are rock solid as are all aluminum frame revo's. Now as far as rods go Abu is definitely not my favorite not even close. But they got the reels on point.

@@aidanbryl1 I like quite a few it just depends. I'm a big jerkbait guy and I like st croix bass x for jerkbaits or topwaters. They're soft rods. For the money you can't beat diawa x rods or Abu vengeance. They're both 50 bucks and will last many years. The Abu vengeance 7,6 heavy action I use for muskie and striper and throw baits up to 4 ounces with no problem. I won't spend a ton on rods because I can't see a big difference between the good cheaper rods and the expensive ones. Basically you're paying way more money just for a rod that weighs an ounce or two less. And the high end rods are more brittle and break way easier than the 50 dollar rods. Peace and good fishing brother.

Have two revo sx 4 daiwa tatulas 1 shimano akastking mega jows elite ihava 5oo dollar shimano my personal opinion abue garcia is the best reels
