I really appreciate the way Joe tells us to sit down before calling a price. Because $67K can make someone very light-headed. That is madness!!
$63,900 before markups. Quick math: $6,400 down (10%) + tax and interest (7.64) 60 Months Payment: $1260 @12.5% of take home pay you should be earning $157,500 annually to be looking at this car (assuming the appropriate taxes are coming out of your paycheck). National average wage (US Census): $63795. Percentage making $150k annually: approx. 8.3% 5 Year price increase Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro: 2019 MSRP: $42,960 2024 MSRP: $63,900 49% increase Wage growth 2019-2024: 1.7% (Source: US Treasury) These price increases far outpace inflation and wage growth. Toyota is targeting 8% of total market. Or people who just want to act fiscally irresponsible.

This is easily the best Toyota Tacoma, but man-o-man, the price is really steep! I love the seats and the four wheel disc brakes. It really looks like it’s a billy goat off-road.
A decent review of this truck. I have owned Toyota trucks and cars going back to 1979. They are simply the best vehicles made year after year. It is extremely difficult to ignore the vastly superior VALUE a buyer gets when purchasing a Toyota. An anecdote if you'd like to read, is below. Long, but worth the read if you find vehicles and mechanics interesting: At the beginning of the video, you should explain that THIS truck and the Raptor are the "go-to" trucks in the UNITED STATES. The Toyota Hilux is still being manufactured and sold worldwide (EXCEPT in the USA because it achieves incredible FUEL EFFICIENCY, legendary DURABILITY, and CAPABILITY. The USA imposed significant TAXES to imported vehicles to SLOW Toyota from out-selling every manufacturer in the US). The Hilux is currently in the 8th generation of production (over 50 years) and is the best vehicle ever produced by ANY manufacturer. This Toyota TRD Pro doesn't even compete with the Hilux GRS, let alone the base model Hilux available nearly everywhere outside the USA. This TRD Pro is a great vehicle in the USA. It costs $66,000. The Hilux GRS costs $38,000, has a 2.8L turbo diesel engine, incredible off-road/ANY road capabilities, and a redesigned suspension that can easily endure a baja truck race route including JUMPS/LANDINGS without damaging the vehicle among many more features. The Hilux GRS WILL NEVER BE SOLD in the USA for two reasons. The second reason is PART of the first. The first reason is that the fuel efficiency is way too high for a vehicle in the USA as far as the Government, EPA, etc. are concerned. Much higher fuel efficiency means LESS FUEL SALES in the US (The manufacturers of ENGINES that will be sold in the US are FORCED to produce INEFFICIENT ENGINES, so the drivers have to purchase MORE FUEL). The second reason is that IF the 8th Gen Hilux was available in the US at its current price point, it would cause SALES LOSSES for every vehicle manufacturer in the US. Even CAR DRIVERS would buy one due to its incredible value and capabilities. The fuel efficiency ALONE would cause car drivers to purchase a Hilux.... Not to mention all of the other unbeatable attributes. Because the sales of this vehicle would be unbelievably high, that would mean MASSIVE LOSSES in FUEL SALES across the US and the Government will never let that happen. It's also why Toyota is not allowed to manufacture a FULL-SIZE turbo diesel truck for sale in the US (heavy-duty work trucks)... it would simply dominate the market. "I love what you do for me.... TOYOTA!" I used to be able to kick my heels together in the air like the dude in the commercial way back then, but I'm an old man now. I couldn't imagine NOT owning Toyota vehicles and having to settle for anything less. For what it's worth....

Was thinking about getting a truck for the usability but truck prices are insane. Turning my focus back to the sedan 2025 Camry xse AWD
Glock and holster would look nice in there as well.
Is this the best midsize truck on the market to take to Baja? Probably not The Ranger Raptor is probably better purpose built for that Is this the best combination of off-roader and daily driver in the segment? Probably is, especially with 23 MPG fuel economy.
That's why I preemptively bought the Tundra TRD pro for 4k more bc the writing was on the wall.
Joe Raiti, I absolutely love the Toyota Tacoma & what really makes me very very happy has got to be the fake corner vents & the fake hood scoop & like I've always said & I'm always going to keep on saying it, it kinda gives it style as to a pair of boring corner of the bumpers as well as a plain & boring hood. Who is going to give a dollar about having a smooth hood & corners of bumper? That wood just look rather bland just seeing one slab of sheet metal.
Cant help but chuckle at a 70k midsize truck. Might as well get a Tundra with the rebates or wait for 2025 since they are dropping priced on the Tundra. Toyota is going to lose A LOT of its customers to GM with these prices.
67k? Ha! My 2022 4R TRD Pro was $55k brand new. I think Tacoma TRD Pro was like 50K in the same year… 18% price increase in 2 years, make sense 😂. How is this gonna compete with the Ranger Raptor at ~58K and the Colorado ZR2 Bison at 60K? I’m a die hard Toyota fan but I can’t justify this tbh. And not to forget, the Colorado ZR2 Bison is a much more capable truck at a lower price….Idk I think I’m gonna go with team Chevy this gen.
Outstanding review! 67k flies in the face that everything off-roading stands for, even for a top of the line trim, littered with things your average offroader/overlander didn’t ask for/need. Toyota is letting the namesake and status get to their head! You think if we did away with the JBL speaker that would drop it 2k??
I am not sure if it's long covid or not, but did he actually say 67k for a midsize truck before dealers markups ????
Crazy price.....but I saw a Colorado ZR2 at a dealer near me and the MSRP was $71,000. The MPG ? 17 city/17 highway. Now THAT is crazy !!!
My F350 Limited was 105k. These aren't daily drivers for 99% of people. These are luxury items. I do think 67k is a bit much for the truck itself but it's their pinnacle model in the Tacoma lineup. I'd buy this at 59k all day
I own a GMC Sierra Z71 and if I didn't have that truck I would definitely be looking at one of these, $66K for a medium sized pickup sounds like a lot but the mid sized pickups are almost as big as a full sized. You will definitely need one of these to pull out the Tesla Cybertrucks and Ranger Raptors that all are getting stuck out there ! KZread is filling up with Tesla Cybertruck videos getting stuck when trying to do any hill climbing and rock crawling.

Yes, but the big 3 offer serious discounts to offset the ridiculous MSRP prices. Toyota's arrogance will bite them in the arse and they will be forced to do the same. Unless of course they are content with these overpriced Mexican built trucks sitting on car lots. That's the last point to be made, who wants a vehicle built in a third world country? You better hope it wasn't built on Tequila Tuesday or Thursday or any other day ending in day. I love the Mexican people but when you pay them pennies on the dollar what do you expect in return? Sorry Toyota big error in judgement on this new truck I'm sure 4Runner will be the same price but at least they are being built in the greatest manufacturing plant on earth.

Great pricing on the TRD pro.
Come back to this comment a few months after the Trd pro Tacoma and trail hunter Tacoma have been out, I’m gonna predict that for the first month they’re out, dealers are going to try to mark them up and then they’re just gonna sit on the lot because no one’s gonna buy them first for markup and then for MSRP so dealerships are going to have sell them for lower than MSRP to get them to move off the lot. That’s my prediction.
