Sat in a Santa fe and drove it, was just amazed, absolute luxury, then looked at the price, it was priced exactly as a pallisade. So took a look at one, and boy did i make a mistake. Pallisade interiors is leaps and bounds beyond the santa fe. Its big and you get it cheaper than the Santa fe. Hyundai made a big mistake pricing the Santa fe so high and closer to the pallisade. If you plan to buy a Santa Fe, dont sit inside a Pallisade!

Great review, Joe! This one felt a bit rushed though my man. You forgot to mention the relaxation seat, digital key2, sanitation bin, fingerprint reader and the highway drive assist/adaptive cruise control with that sensor on the top of the steering column. I think those flat black parts on the outside of the C pillar are handles (that you can lock) to access the roof rails by standing on the sill or the rear tire. Also, the tail lights on the tailgate switch to the bumper when you lift the tailgate. Keep up the great work, my fellow Floridian! BTW, we were getting 24” of rain down here in Fort Myers during your overcast. ☔️

Great review as always Joe! I test drove one yesterday and loved the boxiness, MPG, interior space, and luxury in the cabin, zonks in the back be damned. Although reliability still seems to be an issue with Hyundai, I think I’ll take the risk and will report back in 10 years to let you know how it held up 😂

I urge you. Please don’t buy Hyundai. I almost crashed in highway because the engine failed in the middle of the highway. My car was towed. Engine had to replaced off course under warranty but because these engines are terrible. I only have 86000 miles. They never upgrade their engines. Just the looks. Do not buy Hyundai. You will lose your life savings. They are lemons.

I’ve been watching your Santa Fe reviews and waiting for this trim level, this is the color choice we like as well! Great review as always, also love Ruffles chips with sour cream and onion dip! 👍🏼

Went from my Mazda CX9 To the Santa Fe Limited Hybrid six weeks ago and I'm totally pleased. In the end did not feel I needed to go all the way up to the Caligraphy or to the much higher priced CX90. Also didn't want to have to plug anything in which was a drawback on the Mazda in my opinion. With the Hyundai hybrids, the car does all the work for you and shifts between electric and gas seamlessly. And we are loving the 600+ Miles to a tank of gas!

I own the same trim - Hybrid Calligraphy, Rockwood Green Exterior, Green/Beige interior. I traded in my ‘21 Toyota HL Hybrid XLE AWD. I love my new Vehicle

@@rrange The power available to you from 0 - 30 is great with the electric motors. On the highway it does feel a little slower unless you punch it or have it in sport. I have mainly been driving it in eco mode. This is my first brand new car and first hybrid car so I have been babying it. I have 200 miles on it and my current MPG is 27mpg and that is 80% city driving. Im still learning how to drive a hybrid to maximize full efficiency though.

Those parts on the side are c-pillars. They're meant to help you get up on the roof if you're on the shorter side. I have this exact model but in phantom black, and I love it. I'm never gonna use those c-pillars tho, since im 6'5 and taller than the vehicle haha

You can see his reflection in off the rear the Santa fe when they turn the bend to go over the rear

@@dark6c159 theta II engines had issues, Hyundai replaced a lot for free with extended warranties. Neither of the engines in the new Santa Fe is a Theta II and I don’t think that engine has been in any product since 2015. So you don’t know what you’re talking about. Guaranteed.

Got an SEL Hybrid AWD. 1400 miles so far. Its a fine motor carriage.

Saying cheddar feels weird but "sagging booty" just rolls off the tongue. LoL. I once called the rear end the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, but I think I like sagging booties much better!

Got to admit that this Santa Fe is one super nice SUV with all the bells and whistles and the gas mileage MPG's are just flat crazy ! The one thing that is bugging me is the H in the lights, etc. reminds me of a different vehicle ----- GMC's Hummer !

The rectangular openings on the sides of the C pillars are not for accessory attachments: they are actually grab handles that can be locked. They’re supposed to make it easier to access something on the roof rack. When the rear doors are open, there is a keyhole that allows them to be locked. I believe they are in the locked position in the vehicle you tested in your review.

Supposedly, you can grab onto them with one hand, with your foot on top of the rear tire, and hoist yourself up to reach the rooftop. It’s an interesting idea, but I don’t know how practical (or safe) it is. It sure looks cool though!!

This looks like a Ford Flex. I love the box look with the big interior.

I always buy my cars with my eyes not really that into reliability stuff since i like to keep my appearance clean and fresh up to date. I aint pulling up in a model thats older than 10 years. Hyundai since there design are on point.

I do NOT want to clean those wheels 😂

The Santa Fe is the PAWG of vehicles

By the way Joe , I has a theory why they got rid of the H on the steering wheel. If theres no H, then people aren't reminded that their in a Hyundai product cause they upped the interior feel.

Hopefully the refresh in a few years will fix that brutal rear.

This looks somewhat like a Range Rover. That is cool. I like the exterior paint choices. It is a formidable option within the segment. I am still leaning toward the Mazda brand for the time being. I don't think you would be disappointed with this one however. ☮️

nice ride, tested one and really liked it but ended up with a Grand highlander hybrid, 36 mpg avg over first 4k miles!

I am getting 41 mpg with Santa Fe hybrid

nice modern family van but i dont see that many on the road. for 50K man its hard for me and would have me looking at other options.

"Alien suppository key fob" had me rolling 😂😂 The interior and fuel economy is really nice but I don't really like how the back of the vehicle looks.

Hyundai is having problems with the dct transmission in the gas models, and the in the hybrid is not a dct ! Is a 6-speed automatic transmission. The guys from car confections had a gas model they bought and not once ! But twice the dct transmission failed on them, so Hyundai bought the suv back from them ! The dct is new technology, and Hyundai should have stayed the 6 speed transmission that is 100% better. Also, the Santa fe hybrid calligraphy has 21 inch wheels. Thanks again for another great video Joe.

I said this in another video but the Genesis models use the same 2.5t but with a regular 8-speed auto and don't have any of these problems that the DCT has. I wish Hyundai and Kia would just use it in the Santa Fe and Sorento already. Might take a slight hit in MPG but it'd save everyone the potential headaches.

Great review; however as others have identified, the Hybrid IS NOT an 8spd CVT, but a 6spd DCT. Also, the Calligraphy has 21" wheels, not 20" wheels.

I take the Santa Fe Defender Sport!! More technology is for less than what Mazda is offering cost wise. The back reminds me of a G-Wagon. I dont mind it. It serves a purpose, which is wide cargo opening capacity.

We test drove a Sante Fe Hybrid the other day. What we learned was that this vehicle is not a plug-in electric. It works off of kinetic energy. It essentially charges the battery as you drive. You will never have to plug this in. Hence why we do not get the EV credit like you do with other plug-in EV vehicles in Ohio.

THE BACK END IS SOOOO BAD ... THEY MESSED UP BACK THERE ... LET ME FIX IT .... SWAP THE TAIL LIGHTS WITH THE SANTA FE LOGO THEN IT WILL BE FINE ... THE TAIL LIGHT SO LOW KILLS THE BACK END ,,, THE TAIL LIGHTS HAVE TO GO WHERE THE LOGO IS AND THE LOGO SHOULD GO WHERE THE TAIL LIGHTS ARE

Very nice BUTTTTTTT, I HATE the rear design of this SUV. It reminds me wayyyyyy too much of the Geo Metro!!!!!!!! Look up 1994 Geo Metro. Hyundai please change this!!!!!! Alllllll is awesome and the rear is a HUGE mistake!

It's nice but i don't like the idea of a tiny 1.6 liter turbocharged gas engine in a 4,500 pound car. It should be a minimum of 2.4 liters.

Normally I'd agree, but since it's a hybrid much of the load the engine would experience (like on take off) is compensated for especially since it's electric motor is fairly powerful (60 hp, 195 lb-ft) - that motor is more powerful than a lot of other HEVs, like from toyota. Then while it's cruising along the engine can charge the battery in a low-medium load state,which I'm sure the historically stout 1.6L hyundai has in the santa fe will do for many years to come.

I’m seeing these everywhere but I still vote Grand Highlander

All manufactures have to do away with the gloss black !
