perhaps but I still don't get why they picked Jewish actors to play Italian characters especially one with blond hair. At least Brad who played Robert looks Italian enough to pass. Also, Peter Boyle I think is Irish so, I know Ray is I think the only actual Italian actor on the show. I know the show was Directed and I think Produced by a Jewish guy but it still doesn't match to me. It seems like Ray and Robert were adopted instead of being their kids. That actually would have made for an interesting story line lol. I can only imagine Robert's reaction. Marie was a terrible mother if you ask me.. Poor Robert. She blamed him I think for having to marry Frank. That's why she always pushed him away, as if it was his fault. I always hated it when she did that. Brad is such a great actor cause you really felt Roberts pain when she did that.

@@stephaniek1076 Oh, yeah. That’s true. 😅 Marie favors Amy over Debra. In the sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond", the character of Marie Barone, the mother of the main character Raymond, is often portrayed as favoring her daughter-in-law Amy over her other daughter-in-law Debra. Marie prefers the more traditional, submissive, and culturally similar Amy over the more modern, assertive, and culturally different Debra. This dynamic creates ongoing tension and conflict between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in the show. 🙄 Oh, boy.

@@MisterHoodrich89 You have to pay closer attention and read between the lines but yeah it is there. Ray provided for his family financially, always comes home to Debra no matter how crazy the family get and in his own way shown several times to be there for his family at the end of the day even if he do some questionable things. As much as he doesn't cares for the responsibility, he really does loves his wife and kids deeply at the end of the day. As Robert himself puts it, he wouldn't really trades this life for anything. He also is nowhere near critical to Debra as Marie is about her roles as housekeeper/mother (outside of cooking), takes the time to comes up all of these creative and unusual nicknames for her and occasionally had made her laugh. In return Debra puts up her in laws' antics for the sake for Ray and is often his confidant. She is also supportive of his job. She just wishes he would help her out a bit more without her having to nag him to do it. Both are also shown to be caring parents to their kids in their own way.
