Michael, I have watched many of your videos and I really like them better than some others out there as they get way too long and are verbally a 'Rabbit Hole' style, so thanks. This one helped a lot as I've just had a few bad days. I am 1 1/2 years into my diagnosis but have had symptoms for maybe 4 years and was in denial, so hesitated on getting the tests needed for a real diagnosis. Anyway, your vids are easy to follow and hopeful, so keep it up and thanks!

Marn, I love this comment! The reason I say that is because what you described on other channels has been my biggest pet peeve: namely, long and drawn out videos discussing a topic that could easily fit into 5-10 min. Also, this filled me with a warm feeling knowing that during a time when you needed to be lifted up that this channel was one of the reasons that you felt better about your situation. Keeping it up just got easier thanks to this great feedback. Thank you so much!

Michael, I loved your skit with the patient Dr dialogue. It is so true. When I received my diagnosis of Parkinson's and it took a good 9 months to receive. There wasn't any info there was only the "Well I believe it is Parkinson's". There needs to be a change for those diagnosed to be directed to P.T Physicians such as yourself. So as to learn how to move forward and find new ways of living. But until then I'm glad we have channels such as yours Michael 😊

Good video, thank you! My diagnosis for PD was 6 years ago. . I went off most sugar and processed food. I think cacao is a food group,so I eat it with very low sugar. Also about 5 years ago, went off the meds and started to use herbs. My Neurologist says I’m doing fine with that. There are more symptoms from the autonomic nervous system than from the central nervous system.. I’m 81 and totally believe we are eternal beings having our mortal experiences. Good luck and God bless you all!

Hi, I tried to reply and it disappeared. So I’ll do it again only shorter. But first, I highly recommend you work with a professional on this. Y PD is mostly with my autonomic nerveous system. I use Muccuna Pruriens, Ashwagandha and vitamins, especially B’s . The herbs are in bulk and I mix other herbs in with them for heart, liver, etc. Hope this helps and again please work with a Professional. Good luck!

I got a good chuckle out of the statement about birth being a death sentence. My Maternal grandfather a had Parkinson’s the last approximately 10 years of his life. He passed away when I was 17 in 1969. I really don’t remember him being depressed or bitter my memory of him was a smiling Grandpa. He had several other health problems mainly heart disease, however that didn’t stop him. Over the years I wondered if I was would have it. Neither of my brothers have it, I know that one of my male 1st cousins ( my mother’s oldest brother son) was diagnosed in his 40’s). I was diagnosed 3 months ago having displayed symptoms for several months prior. I am really more concerned about my Diabetes which I was diagnosed with about 14 years ago and my wife’s breast cancer which she discovered early and hopefully is under control. I’m hoping that I can live as positively as my Grampa.

Hello Janet. I’m sorry for all of the suffering you both go through because of PD. I mean no disrespect or to downplay your situation, but not everybody’s journey with PD is the same. I have patients who have had PD for almost 2 decades and still live a full life. One of them is in this video. Others, like your husband, have cognitive and physical issues that are debilitating. Rates of progression vary, etc. Also, changes in quality of life don’t mean death or terminal prognosis. I do hope this channel can help to provide some insight and information for you as you care for your husband. Have you seen the video on Parkinson’s stages? It might be worth your time

Hard to pin it specifically on PD, but with enough progression there can be a lot of complications that could ultimately lead to death. The dementia aspect is more likely to lead to a downward spiral than any physical issue, though falls are a big potential cause of injury and death
