This one was emotional. But we will get to that in a minute!
First things, first - we needed to get new rims and tires installed on the RV after our tire blowout in last week’s episode. If you missed that one, you can catch it here: • HOW BAD IS IT? | DISAS...
Corey shares a little bit about safety in these scary situations and addresses some comments that came in from last week’s video, and Jess learns how to use a torque wrench!
We are back at 320ink printing all of the shirts for our It’s Better Outside Spring store and show you guys how the process works and why we only do 2 runs a year. The whole family was involved for this year’s store!
There are some things that are very unique to Maine and New Englad that we want to make sure you try the next time you visit, so we suffer for you by sharing (and then eating) some of our lesser known favorites that you can only find here!
And now for the emotional part! We are so proud to announce that Lily is officially a high school graduate! We share a little bit about what is next for her and about our thoughts regarding schooling while you are on the road.
We are really looking forward to the next leg of our jounrey as we head up through Maine and into Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island!
Stay tuned for next week as we start heading North and RV in Maine for the first time! We lived here but never RVed here! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new videos!

I love my kids, but I was pretty ready for them to leave :) . I'm mostly joking, but it has been amazing seeing them strike out on their own and work towards becoming the best versions of themselves. They wouldn't have been able to do that under my roof.

We watched the video of you packing the shirts. I ordered two red shirts, which I received before Memorial Day. The reason I ordered red is I'm a Vietnam veteran. I was in the army between 1970 to 1972. Your shirts were the first ones I ordered from the multiple u-tubers I follow.

We homeschooled for 14 years- Had never heard of full time RVing until our oldest daughter was a junior in college, but that planted a seed for us later on. Fast forward 13 years- We’ve been full time for the last 3 years! Born and raised in Kentucky, we are just now learning that we have a waterfall trail. The Bourbon Trail is the only one we knew about. We’re spending this summer exploring our beautiful Bluegrass State. You never know what you’re going to find in your own backyard! Love your videos, and looking forward to more!

Jessy and Layla, it was wonderful to meet you at the local Walmart today!!! I'm the woman, Karole, who was leaving as you were coming in!! I've been a big fan for years!! I look forward to seeing your Season here in Maine!! By the way, I grew up near Acadia National Park, and Bar Harbor. Hint... if going there, find a campground on the opposite side of the island, which we locals call 'the Quiet side". And when you get to Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Island and PEI... you are going fall in love...I have family up there!!! I'm excited for this season, for you!!! Many Blessings, and safe travels!! Happy Birthday to both Lily and Layla, and Happy Graduation to Lily... Good luck in your future endeavors!!

Fun fact. My uncle use to own Larry's Pastry Shop at 241 Main St, Ellsworth. Larry, Butch, Leo, & Lorena Pelleter. We came up every year from Al to stay with them and we got to "work" at the bakery.... more like talk for everyone to listen to our VERY THICK southern accent. We had the BEST time. I can not remember the lake we went to that my mom's Aunt had a house on but it was AWESOME. Some many of my BEST childhood memories are in Bangor Maine and Portsmouth NH. Another HUGE reason why you are one of my TOP FAVORITE youtube families!!

Corey the on ramp pull over is the best, BEST tip I've heard. My fear is being on the side of the road when trucks roll by at speed. I have seen lots of truckers( at least in the south) move over when some thing is going on in the emergency lane. We have a "Move Over" law in Ga if an Emergency vehicle is stopped in the E lane or reduce your speed greatly if you can't "move over". Greatly a cop told me is by half!

Thank you for all the work getting our two little T-shirts to us! We love our sticker and can’t decide where to put it yet so it’s propped on our fridge door, waiting. You guys are awesome. Excellent video! Congratulations to Leila on her 16th birthday and to Lily on her graduation. They grow up and leave which is a part of life that we parents must endure just like our parents did. These girls will make you proud and you'll get to say "we did that". Looking forward to the upcoming videos of Maine. We're in the People's Republik of California and have explored very little here, we have plans for Utah and Colorado next month and if the heat is too bad here we will probably head to the coast like we did last summer to stay 😎. Y'all have fun!

It's still in the family today! I haven't been back for over 50+ years. Watching this episode made me very homesick 😔 But also happy to see it through you guys! I want Cory Maine shirt! Fluffernutter, Whoopi pie, and I live in Idaho now the other potato state! Red hot dogs, I ate all those goodies 😋 This was an awesome episode! We have been following you guys for the last 4 years! I'm from Central Coast of California. Since you love to grill, you have to do Santa Maria style BBQ. Santa Maria-style barbecue centers on beef tri-tip, seasoned with black pepper, salt, and garlic before grilling over coals of native coast live oak, often referred to as "red oak" wood. The grill is made of iron and usually has a hand crank to adjust the height of the grill over the coals. The traditional accompaniments are pinquito beans,] fresh salsa, tossed green salad, and grilled French bread dipped in sweet melted butter, and fresh strawberries. It's fantastic...

Everyone seems to be going to Nova Scotia and PEI this year. Be sure to try the Donairs (pronounced Doe-NAIR) while in Nova Scotia. They're like Gyros but they use beef with a sweet garlic sauce. When they built the bridge from New Brunswick to PEI, I walked the bridge with 15,000 others the day before it opened to traffic. I live in Texas now but grew up in PEI.

The part of Maine most people think of is along the Atlantic coast, especially Kennebunkport made famous by George H W Busch, or Bar Harbor made famous by the Rockefellers. But the part of Maine we really enjoyed RVing was the Rangeley Lake area, and not just inside the Park!! We loved the surrounding area also, almost more!! We almost decided not to leave and go to the coast, but then decided to stick to our original plan. ENJOY YOUR HOME STATE!! Congratulations Lilly!!! Always remember that you come from a wonderful family as you venture out into the big wide world!!

Some local foods that are a must are Solomon Gundy and Lunenburg Pudding if you are in Lunenburg, Donairs in Halifax, Larsen hot dogs are like no others. PEI has the best mussels and seaweed pie. Have a safe and wonderful journey. Hope you enjoy NS and PEI cultures.

Another great video! Congratulations to Lily on her graduation! Well done! And congratulations to Layla on her Sweet 16. What a terrific family. We enjoy watching your videos every week! They are entertaining and relaxing! Loved the food part. That lobster looked so good, I wanted to climb into the screen. What makes America so great are the regional foods and customs. We've lived in New Mexico, Nevada and (now) Texas. Each place has its own cuisine. New Mexico it's about the Chile Pepper used in a variety of foods which are fusion of Spanish, Puebloan, Diné (Navajo), and Anglo. Our favorites are the Green Chile Cheeseburger, Huevos Rancheros (Red, Green or Christmas) and the Stuffed Sopapillas. Or is it the Enchiladas? Maybe it was the Carne Adovada. It's all good. Nevada was about the Basque food and, of course, Prime Rib Dinners on Friday and Saturday nights for $4.95 (they're $10+ now). Of course, in Texas it's Barbecue (brisket, ribs, sausages, beer-butt chicken, pulled pork - low and slow, bro), Tex-Mex, Gulf Seafood, Crawfish Boils and Cajun Cooking. Looking forward to your next video! God bless y'all and safe travels! Bob and Dottie

Several things to comment on in this video! First, my fav colors for outdoor (camping) clothing are a deep forest green, a medium but semi-bright teal, and black. I don't wear Tees much, but do wear tanks and hoodies (pullover or zip front). Second, I totally understand Cory's texture thing when it comes to foods, as I also am sensitive to food textures. I don't like anything "bouncy", i.e. food that offer resistance to my teeth past a certain personal point of tolerance, hence I eat no shellfish whatsoever. I love the taste of citrus fruits, but can't do the texture, so end up mostly drinking citrus juices. Raw tomatoes totally gross me out, as do any kind of olives, also eggplant. As a kid, my mom despaired of being able to feed me, but as I grew older my palate "matured" and I eat a fairly wide array of foods now. Third, I could hear the quaver in Jess's voice as she spoke of Lily's graduation and plans for her future. I'm a long time follower of KYD, who I know you are friends and followers of also, and that near final scene in tonite's video reminded me a lot of the KYD video in which Trish helps her eldest daughter Tori move into her college dorm room, the hug between mom and daughter on the sidewalk later that night, Trish being brave and not crying, then totally breaking down when she got in the truck with Marc and they drove away. Letting go is so hard, not something I personally have ever learned to do gracefully. But then, I have never been a parent, never known in my heart, that someday this life I was nurturing, would of necessity some day fly the nest. I can't even begin to imagine how parents cope with it. Lastly, explore your own backyard. I won't go into my many adventures exploring my homes states of California (late teens and early twenties), Washington (early twenties to late 50's), and Idaho (late 50's to present), but I give a big thumbs up to that suggestion. Great video, as always. Question: are you guys planning to attend the Lippert Gathering in SE Idaho in mid-September? I know LJMJ is and I've looked into it, sounds like fun, but am kinda on the fence about the 8 hr drive and whether or not I'd fit in as a tent camper. Any thoughts?

Love this video! We traveled in Maine years ago and loved the food. In upstate NY the summer food is Hoffman dogs and salt potatoes at picnics and clambakes. Enjoy all your vids and have been looking forward to starting our some days very soon. Love seeing the community you guys have made it’s heart warming to see.

Wow, sounds like you got a ton of feedback on that last video 😳. I thought you handled it really well- everyone always has advice, lol. Congrats to Lily, and to you guys 💖 sending them off into the world is always scary, but that’s a parent’s end goal- raise good humans and send them out to do good, but it doesn’t make it easier to let them go. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Hi Corey, Slightly late, been camping, but your concern about the spindle is valid but inspection is actually very simple. Check for any discoloration and insure there are no skid, burrs, raised material marks on the spindle, if you see nothing you will be good. Great video.

I can't wait to see what you find on PEI. I have been wanting to go to Green Gables for a really long time. We will get there! In New Mexico you have to have a Green Chile Cheeseburger and Don's Pizza, with their ranch to dip it in!. Since we are still working full time we are actually exploring our New Mexico State Parks as much as we can. There are some real gems out there! Coyote Creek State Park, Navajo Dam State Park and Brantley Lake State Park are some of our favorites.

Bolt Torque specs are based upon bolt diameter and thread pitch. Most wheel lug studs are grade 8 or higher...usually B7. 1/2 × 20 B7 fasteners need 87 to 105 ft lbs...I usually use 90 ft lbs.

I’m really happy you guys are setting off on a ME adventure since we will be leaving end of summer for our trip there. Heard that a lot of things up north shut down by the middle of October, hopefully we can enjoy some things in SE ME then.

I've been to both on a cruise. Overland would be better. We took your advice and are doing our own state (AZ). It's been great fun. Happy trails!

Howdy FOS family... congrats Lily on your graduation.🎓💕 You have such a great future ahead of you and also congrats to your wonderful parents and sister who have encouraged you along the way! Agree with the fluff, have eaten it as a kid with peanut butter in south central PA. Would love to try a red hot. We have a similar local dog with the natural casing that will burst while cooking it over the fire. Looking forward to your new adventures.
