Tool loves trolling people. It started with Carey’s time signatures and someone noticed that it was a piece of the Fibonacci sequence, so they continued that through the rest of the song. They’ll tell you that it was an oopsie poopsie, but Maynard is lying. 🤣

It's the album that introduced me to Tool, and it's still my favorite album of all time. Lateralus is my go-to whenever I just want to contemplate the dysfunction of the Universe.

Tool opened the Musical pallet of millions of unsuspecting entities. The name Tool, was immediately feared by so many, due to the fact that you had to open your mind, and ingest unfamiliar time signatures, and feel emotions that were previously unavailable, through most any other genre ever known in modern history. It took a very long time for their prominence to become apparent, due to their shunning by the music community, as it was unknown, scary as fuck to any regular genre, and more powerful and misunderstood at first glance, especially to those fans who were only following hip hop, and had turned away from rock, due to the uprising of grunge, and the sloppy, out of order style and persona of grunge's content. For those that were lucky enough to be turned on to tool when the first album arrived, it was absolutely the source of our musical interest, and the obvious premier example of what composed music should become with any rock genre in mind. The Video for Sober, the Music that created it's content, and the artists that created the body of work, in many ways have still not been matched, or even approached by another group in music, that has conveyed a message that can be understood by any open minded listener, with commonality and real life circumstance, and make music that furthers your understanding of the unknown, and the possibilities of human beings to perceive themselves as something more than sheep, and quite the opposite, after the music's influence has affected the listeners mindsets, and actually left those minds open in post witness outcomes. They quietly became the modern day Zeppelin, Floyd, and all other sub genre that actually reached longevity and became desired absolutely, and the fans could only find contentment with that groups artistry, and no other Art was considered to be touched by any and all others that tried. It's effect is universal, unparalleled, unrivaled, and unapologetic when described by those who take it with them. And that is why Society could not essentially deny this Artistic body of work, and avoid being spoonfed the normal content, by The contract signing, Record Company, Radio Station, Pop, Country, light rock, soul, r+b, etc. Music that was intended to bring ears to the radio, to provide the Elite with a "Tool"to influence and manipulate the population with their interests through Media implementation. That's right, the Elite used our favorite Songs, and artists, and our admiration of each and every one of them, to guide us into a social hub for news and social construct, and the source of their idealisms. Plainly put, it's not as it seems. Radio is used to provide the Elite with a tool, that was a necessity to fans of music, was free of charge, and never waivered in it's presence, to curve and affect public opinion in their favor. Our songs are Jingles, or commercials, to attract us to their messages, and is still used to manipulate information, and misinform the population to gain positivity, and empowerment through support of the unsuspecting, or uninformed. And Tool became who and what they are without equal press or radio play, such as the other entities were accustomed to. They are Elite themselves, because they reached that pinnacle position in spite of their opposition, and were not supported by most social constructs. They beat the system, without the system, mostly. And they are still being analyzed and picked apart by many generations, with understanding and applied science to this day. Even by those of us that have been turned on from the very beginning. There will never be another Tool. Especially in our lifetimes. But if their was anything similar, it would only be a positive influence on our population. Because everything is suppressed or removed by the Elite, be ause they don't want the human element that is created and harnessed by those that consider it necessary and beneficial to their lives. Cheers!
