The gears are turning. My dad’s a musician and he’s the same way. He will process the entire song without saying a word and then play it. As a guitar player it was awesome growing up because I knew every song. I remember playing nirvana never mind to him and he taught me half the record in two hours. The best dad ever.

Of all the reactors (some great that I love) I must say that you guys are my favorite so far, there is absolutely no fake or no acting in your videos and I just love it. Also of course just the fact that you can play some of these songs on piano after one listen is just amazing and so fun. Keep up the good work guys. best regards, lifelong Metallica fan ps. also just love the chemistry between you guys pps. also just love you honesty, it's refreshing cause some reactors do act their enthusiasm or interest in some songs for sure

As soon as Judson said, they were hanging from the ceiling and covered in silver stuff and were doing weird stuff on stage, it really brought me back, and he is correct. I saw them in 2001, they were doing their tour for Lateralus and what he is referring to was when they played Schism live. They had people walking around and hanging upside down in like a cocoon as I could best describe it. Maynard was performing in his underwear and it was pouring down rain outside. Tool lyrics exist on multiple levels. Even the name Tool is meant to be interpreted many ways. Like you're a tool. Or that this music is a tool. I've found that I've found different meanings to their lyrics as I've aged. Which is wild. Maynard always writes that way, double entendres and such. This song, yea about pot, but also hypocrites (pots) who call the kettle black in regards to politicians and others who put their views/laws on others while doing what they want. The genius of Tool's music is the depth of everything, from the instruments to the lyrics. It's all intended to take you on a journey and get you thinking more about life.

It's about hypocrisy (pot calling the kettle black) and then basically saying, "For you to try and call me out on something when you are the way you are -- you must have been high to say that."

Hahah, I went to a show during that tour. The silver people swinging from the ceiling were the acrobats hired for the Schism music video.

I saw tool in 2001 and they did have people naked and painted in shinny paint hanging upside down from the rafters writhing to the music in the second half of their show! It was the lateralis tour!!

Guys, first time on the channel here. Love the video. You should go with something from the new album next. Either the live drum cam of Pneuma or maybe Invincible/Descending depending on personal tastes. It'd be a guarantee that you dont run into something he remembers from '99.

@@Greatmeasures Their early stuff is more simple, though not really, only in a certain way. But the music does get more and more complex with each album. Sober would be a great song on that note. But if you take the journey from album, to album you can really tell they never let up on practicing and getting better over the years.

I like how broski checks the keys when listening to music. As a musician you always analyze the musical aspect of it. It’s totally different from a person that doesn’t play any instruments.

I saw them in 99. There were people wrapped like worms wiggling and hanging from the scaffolding above the stage. It was ridiculous. The screen wrapped around us and the visuals were indescribable. It's hard to picture what he was describing when he said they were behind a screen, but they literally were.

Great Measures each Tool song is a tool for a different area of life. Many overlap, as life is that way. The discography is like a huge tool box full of every tool you need for working on life/self. Sweat is 1st on the 1st official album, Opiate, because without Sweat, tools are worthless. Definite must hear. Sweat. DO WORK!!!
