Well 2008 was Shelly Ann Frazer first international competition in an individual event as a SENIOR and we all know how that worked out. She was under the guidance of coach FRANCIS Kishane's Coach. The Argument of whether he can handle the rounds should be put to bed now. 1. Kishane 2 previous 9.85 and 9.87 was done outside Jamaica 2. He ran 3 rounds similar to what is required in the Olympic and ran easy 9.82 then 9.84 & 9.77 this done at sea level 3. Lets remind everyone that the USA trials in Eugene is at a slight altitude and when adjusted NOAH's time is Equivalent to 9.85 at sea leavel the same time he ran at the RACERS Grand Prix loosing to Seville. The same can be said of Ferdinand time in Kenya . Wishing all the best to all the athletes may the best person on the day Win.

Don't know where this "can Kishane Thompson handle the rounds?" came from as he just proved that he can run 9.8s in rounds and 9.7 when it really matters. The real question is whether he has the sense of the moment and the mental strength to handle the pressure of the finals. He's the clear favorite for Gold right now imo if he remains injury free and can maintain or even slightly improve on current form.

This is the best argument for Lyles winning. I agree with you. Outside of this, anyone can win. We have seen enough occasions to know that you can win the event without a super fast time. So, as much as I want to see my Jamaicans win or medal, this field is WIDE OPEN. I remember last year how Rae from ' Raes Take insisted that Shacarri can't won't medal because she had up to that point not proven herself to be able to manage the big moments as she had NO EXPERIENCE at that level. Well, we saw how that ended. Lyles has the best combination of assets - fearless, confident, determined, experienced, injury free, constantly improving times, and consistency. BUT I maintain this year is the first time in a long time the field has been so wide open.

Out of everyone, Noah is probably the most consistent runner in the field over the past few years. With the lack of injuries to his improvements from 60m/150m to him slowing down towards the end of his US Trials final, he definitely has more in the tank. Given his coach's recent interview from US Trials, I definitely believe Noah can get 9.7 by the time the Olympics and potentially win. A lot of people underestimated Lyles at Budapest and this year at US Trials and I think it would be very comical to do so here given his race history. For Kishane, he definitely has the mechanics to win the Gold medal. However, he lacks World & Olympic experience so it's not 100% clear of how he can perform on the big stage. Without injuries, he definitely has a great opportunity to shine but to be a World/Olympic Champion, it definitely requires more than physical attributes to win. Similar to Seville, who has yet to have medalled at a World Championships as an individual athlete, it's honestly about getting to the next step up for him. Marcell Jacobs definitely has a great opportunity to be in the mix considering his European Championship victory a couple of weeks ago and that he is injury free. There are others who could definitely contest but I think right now, this may be the 4 in my mind who could pull medals at this moment. This 100m is definitely going to be a warzone in Paris.

However, he does seem to have some natural ability as a sprinter. Noah has been the most consistent male sprinter on the world stage for the last couple of years. Kenny Bednarek is also killing it this season. And Fred Kerley seems to be returning back to form. He has won gold and silver medals against the top competition in the world and he is now is 9.8 shape and has run 9.7. No one is a lock for gold at this point. The U.S. sprinters are good, but not on the level of Gatlin and Tyson Gay. The fact that Noah is the foremost U.S. sprinters says a lot about U.S. sprinting. It is weak. Great analysis Anderson! The rounds in Paris will be intense. I have DeGrasse, Kerley & Jacobs in danger of not making the final. In the final, it’ll be put up or shut up time for Noah - 9.75 or better will get gold and more likely 9.7. I want to say Tebogo’s a sleeper but I don’t trust that his start has gotten much better and such a drastic PR is asking for too much. Kishane can win if he manages his energy in the rounds. I’ll make a more informed pick after the 1st round, but right now I gotta go with Noah for gold. He has the mental advantage over the field and I believe the pressure will help step up his execution to where it needs to be.

I put Seville ahead of Thompson for consistency...People are already speaking about Thompson breaking Bolt's 100m record which is a ridiculous conversation...He is to heavy, he is powerful maybe he will get a 9.72 like Powel in races which does not matter but I can't see him winning any major races or running sub 9.70 like Gaye and Blake...Let's remember Coleman, Fred and Omanyala have all ran 9.7s, yet no one would have them as favorite to win a 100m global medal at this moment...I can't see Noah going sub-9.80 but he can pull off a 9.82 any time he wishes and I still think he is the most likely to win...With the quality of 100m spiriting being sub par to Bolts reign a solid 9.80 is a win. My top 3 would be Lyles, Seville, Thompson...Tebogo and Jacobs are wild cards and can have a surprise win....Anyone who does not have a PB of sub 9.85 should not even be in this discussion.

Personally i believe what Noah said about racing at Home vs The Olympics.. He already beat Kerley & Coleman who both at the moment hold higher PR. Honestly the 100m is still too close for me say who will win clearly. Kishane to me has to prove he can get consistent good times in the Olympics. Honestly I'm not gonna front i would not surprised if Kerley actually pulled something out and made top 3. Of course i also got Lyles in the top 3 but the remaining spot is too hard. Kenny , Tebogo, Hughes , Seville also are all possible candidates.

@Tradawakendan The numbers doesn’t add up for Noah, you maybe a fan of Noah but that will him against this kid, Kishane will separate from the crowd really fast and run himself somewhere into 9.6s.. With his explosive start out the blocks, even if he get left in the block he as a massive top end speed. Go back and watch how he ran down Oblique something Noah couldn’t do to Seville..

@@tyeguy5373And the numbers didn't add up for Noah prior to last season and still dont😅 . Once again Noah already beat guys who on record are faster than Thompson. At the moment I'm going with Thompson home court advantage possibly giving him the advantage. He has to prove to me he can consistently run those times at the Olympics. Y'all really love to forget how Lyles beat Seville before. Seville literally has lost the big races for the last couple of seasons. The same way Noah proved himself in the 100m is simply the same way I want Kishane to prove himself. If he is the fastest as you believe han he will walk away with Gold. Personally as seen I have Lyles but even then I know the Field is very competitive and there's a crop of 4-7 guys I feel could get first

@Tredawakandan If all the top sprinters make it thorough the rounds. Lyles would not see the podium.

If Kishanne remains healthy he should win. However I agree one cannot ever count out Noah or even Fred. Jacobs in my view will struggle to make the finals. My top three are Oblique, Noah, Kishane in any order.

He can't be oblique severe or Thompson. Can't meet neither one of them. If he's going to beat anybody, he'll be Hakeem Blake and it won't be a given. You'll have to work to get that. And he's got some problems with some of the other sprinters as well cuz he's got Leslie tebogo and he's got Darnell Hughes and Hakeem. Blake, plus he's got his teammates so he's not guaranteed to even get on the podium. Oblique civil separates himself from everybody else. The only one that could possibly be them is Fred curley nowdefeated against Fred curley. Unless curley brings something from the past, that's the only way he can beat in oblique. So oblique savelle has a clear avenue to the silver medal and Thompson has a clear avenue to the Gold medal. There's only one medal to fight over

Marcell Jacob’s probably isn’t even going to make the final, if he does he is getting last place. Noah Lyle’s is also most likely going to beat oblique and kishane will win unless he is like asafa Powell and can’t perform under pressure or something
