You criticize his progressions and pre-snap read? At least he did those things. He played in pro-style offense where he had to do those things. Most of the top QB's didn't. He is far better prepared for the NFL than most, in that regard.

JJ McCarthy is an elite signal caller. NFL teams draft on potential. This kid has all of the tools to be great at the next level. I would draft him over Nix, Penix, and Daniels. Those guys were not as accomplished as McCarthy at his age. I love McCarthy's upside in the right situation. I hope my Raiders draft him in the first round.

In the negatives you said he frequently has poor ball placement and can make bad decisions sometimes and yet he had one of the highest completion percentages and lowest interception ratios of any college QB this past season so your comments seem a bit unfounded.

JJ McCarthy's draft stock rising is a product of the current QB demand. People are VERY down on next year's QB class and with Russel Wilson and Fields looking like the best vets to trade for (i think Kirk resigns) teams without a franchise QB are stuck in a difficult situation with really only 4 options (listed below): 1). Trade the farm to get into the top 3 to get one of the good prospects. (results in getting - hopefully - a franchise QB, but now you gave up all your other assets) 2). Trade for a declining Russel Wilson or a middling Justin Fields. (which really doesn't move the needle) 3). Overdraft a prospect like JJ, Nix, or Penix out of desperation for a QB because there aren't any in next year's class. (probably results in a blown top 10-15 pick) 4). Ignore all three of those options, stick with a garbage QB until the 2026 class which destroys any team building as most players on rookie contracts will be up by 2026. (staff is getting fired) Teams electing for option 3 is what is causing JJ's stock to rise

His negatives are normal for a 20 year old. That can be taken care of with coaching. He's probably gonna have the best or 2nd best career of this class of qb's. He has the tools, he comes from an nfl style offense. I rather take him over Drake or Jayden, Drake is not a leader(he wasn't even a captain the whole season) and Jayden just had his 1st great year after 4 or 5 yrs and in a backyard style offense where the only thing they did was pass it to great open wide receivers..

His film looks so promising he got some arm talent but I need to see him against NFL level talent

Jj is a able to be an amazing talent in the NFL, he has the speed and the arm potential. I see his potential being a slightly worse Josh Allen

Well another thing I didn't touch on in the video is that McCarthy is just over 200 pounds. He weight 35 less pounds than Josh Allen, durability will also be a concern for him

@@FallBallSports He's strill not a MAN yett,.He will be 225 lbs in 2 yrs and VERY DURABLE,. And he's much more nimble with tons more speed and dexterity than Allen,.. And ALLEN couldn't hit the broad side of a Barn when he came out,. But that is Teachable just like McCarthy,. You leep thinking he ISN'T 2 yrs younger than the other Top qbs in this Draft,. HUGE MISTAKE~

Hes QB3, everything you said about JJ in this video could be copy and pasted to a Bo Nix prospect other than age, maye had a down year compared to last year and Daniels only popped this year and have their quirks too JJ is a 1st-2nd rounder and teams like Minnesota could absolutely get the best out of him compared to a daniels in NE with no help

JJ Mcarthy is so overrated, it’s so annoying that so many draft guys are trying to prove something that’s not even true, JJ Mcarthy got carried by his defense and the run game, the situation JJ Mcarthy is in is the exact same as Brock Purdy in San Francisco.

Go back and watch the 2022 Ohio State game. I know you'll likely point out that Edwards ran for 216 so he carried McCarthy but 160 of those yards came on two plays in the 4th quarter when Michigan was in control.

i guess you did not watch Penix in the Naty. The guy is terrible under pressure and will probably be injured within a few games in the NFL where he is going to see a lot more pressure than he saw most of last season until the Michigan game.

I can't for the life of me see how anyone can have JJ going in the first round. He's a 3rd round QB. Now don't get me wrong, he could become a Russell Wilson and surprise us all, but the accuracy, arm talent, processing and decision making aren't presently there. He is quite mobile though, but he doesn't have the stature of an Allen, so no round 1 grade for me.

JJ is an accurate passer at 72.3% comp rate this year and 64% the previous...that's one of the few stats that translates to the NFL. Arm talent wise he is not "Elite" but name the top 15 guys in the league and ask yourself "how many guys that are successful in the NFL have "Elite" arm talent?" The answer is not many. There's a reason why NFL teams (contrary to media takes and youtubers) are very impressed with his tape. Drew Lock had ELITE arm talent and how'd that work for Denver? His main issue is sample size. JJ will be a top 10 pick.

Ridiculous. Harbaugh would have ran the EXACT same offense no matter what qb he would have had. It's dumb to claim that Michigan wanted to run some big passing offense but couldn't because they didn't have the QB. NO, Harbaugh runs his same offense NO MATTER WHAT, as the gunslinger for the Chargers will find out. No way he gets past the Viks at 8, and now that the combine is over one on CBS says number 3 to the Pattriots. But the same guy says the Rick Speilman really likes JJ, so he won't go past them, and the Giants are talking to him as well at the combine and they draft 6th I think. By the way, JJ threw the ball 61 mph at the combine, fastest other than that rocket arm guy, Milton from Tennessee. He is a champion, great athlete, great leader. Including his high school days, JJ is 65-5. The few GM\s that pass on him may regret it soon.
