The weathering seems really excellent! However, there is a limit to collecting this many figures, so I think people who need them for their own collection or photo shoot will buy them. Thanks for your great analysis. I'm always enjoy your awesome video!!

It does, I'll give them that for sure! The undersuit grabbed more of my attention than the rest of the armor, but it's probably because I like the texture of it. The Mauldalorians were one of my most wanted figures for a while now, especially since Season 7 of the Clone Wars. I’m getting two of them and either pairing them with my Solo Maul or having them battle my Death Watch Mandalorians.

AGREEEEED! It's why I was excited to see them! I'd love to grab two, but I'm holding back to see what else we receive from the Ahsoka line. I'd hate to get crazy and regret it.

@@BostonCollectors I believe they’re going to release an undead Death Trooper at some point since it was teased, but I’m not sure what else they could do at this point. I do wish they included some alternate armor pieces with the Mauldalorian, even if it’s something small like they did with the Death Watch. I’ll probably repaint some Mando bits for a little variation.

The helmet and the horns are perfectly sized - looks like the clone wars and that is the main reason I will order this :)

I think you make a valid point. Would’ve been a little closer to the price if there was an extra helmet without horns, fisted hands, and some flame effects at the very least.

At the VERY least. I didn't make too much of an argument for the effects because we didn't see them used, but it would've been nice to have the flame effect and jet pack effects included too. It makes me thing we'll see grunts later on at some point so they can capitalize on reusing the molds for army builders. But lets face it, they could've knocked it out of the way with adding a helmet.

On the fence, leaning towards the pass side. I think he looks cool, but just not getting that "gotta have it" vibe. Looks like they did a great job on the weathering on his armor.

You make some VERY good points! Hmmm...this makes me think even more. "I'll meditate on this" lol Also...can they please discontinue the damn sand base?! Come up with something new Hot Toys!

Haha, I'm forced to meditate, because sheeeeesh, these price tags hurt. Yeah, I think they were proud of them and thought people would love them. They stink. It's fine where it makes sense, but it doesn't with this one... 😤

Yeah, it almost feel inspired by animation yet brought into a realistic form. Similar to Rex, Jesse, etc. I’m cool with it if that’s the case, but I still wish the helmet were resized a bit. But like you said, it’s an awesome figure overall.

I know the price is steep but what I have in mind is getting one and remove the helmet and use Obi-Wan’s head sculpt. Is the disguise he used in the series when he tried to rescue Satine now I’ll have that figure in the collection cuz HT’s not going to do it so I will.

12:06 - Yeah, I mentioned that starting at this timestamp. I'd love for that idea to work, but I'd hate to hinge it on hope. I did that with my Padmé custom and come to find out the neck adapter put a HUGE hole in my plans. If Hot Toys wont do it, better to handle it ourselves. Thanks for watching!

@@BostonCollectorsit’s too much what they’re asking for some of these figures and barely bring any accessories. I canceled my super battle droid when reviewers were saying it was very light weight and yeah I should’ve read the description to know if it was diecast or not.

My biggest issue with the figure, and I'm still getting one, is the middle horn on the helmet. It's not present on either clone wars or ahsoka material that I can find, just should not be a horn in the middle.

Yeah, I'd say that fall in line with "who is this suppose to be?", lol! I'm ok with it, but I think they could hide behind it being a random trooper that could have a variation of their own horns. It takes a lot of pressure off of Hot Toys to do it right which doesn't feel cool, but if they were allowed freedom of expression as long as it supported Maul, I guess I'll have to roll with it.

Great video. This figure is more accurate to The Clone Wars which imo looks way better than what we saw in Ahsoka. Fingers crossed for Gar Saxon and Rook Kast.

Yeah, it definitely feels like an amalgamation of live action and animation. It isn't terrible, but it could use some adjustments for me personally. I wouldn't mind either one, but they would probably forgo portraits if they did.

Another week another Ahsoka reveal...that isn't Baylan, Shin or Huyang lol... Would love to set up a Siege Of Mandalore display, especially to try add something to my Clone Wars Maul but you make a lot of valid points. Would be great if it came with alternate armour plates or helmets or even a cheaper price point. Unfortunately it comes out at a time where there's just too many more important characters/figures being released with the Ahsoka line. Here's hoping that Hot Toys next reveal is something I can get a bit more excited about. As always, loving what you're doing!

TLDR: I think Baylan and Shin will be saved as their last few bangers before the Ahsoka line is complete. If I had to guess, we'll see Huyang before them. If I had to make a guess on the next announcement, I'd say we'll either see a different variation to the Mauldalorians, or we'll get the Siege of Mandalore version of Ahsoka. While all of these figure do work well with each other, the way they announced a lot of them I noticed a pattern: 1st Announcement - Sabine: Insane to announce her first when the show is called Ahsoka. 2nd Announcement - Chopper: We aren't mad at it, but how can we get him without Hera? 3rd Announcement - Hera: Oh. Well we still didn't get a tease or anything for Ahsoka, where is she? 4th Announcement - Thrawn: Wow, ok! I like this, but there are so many other more important figures. 5th Announcement - Marrok: Ok, now you're just trolling us. No tease of Ahsoka, Baylan or Shin? 6th Announcement - Ahsoka: YOOO!!!! 7th Announcement - Rex: No teases at all. Again. 8th Announcement - Enoch: Sweet, we're doubling back to expand on Thrawn's side of things! 9th Announcement - Night Trooper: 2 for 2, alright! AND THE DEATH TROOPERS TEASED?! 10th Announcement - (Padawan) Ahsoka: Teased an updated TCW Ani! Alright, cool cool! 11th Announcement - Super Commando Mandalorians: No teases again and the community's divided. If I had to make a guess on the next announcement, I'd say we'll either see a different variation to the Mauldalorians, or we'll get the Siege of Mandalore version of Ahsoka. Either way, I think we're maybe.... 5-8 announcements away from Baylan & Shin. I think we'll get Huyang before those two though. Excuse the long drawn out response, but as you can see I love the hobby. 😅

Does a person who loves the mandalorians as well as the sixth scale figures I love this one don't like the price but I will be discounting it as much as I can I do hope they can give me a few troops to go with him cuz he's a commander and he needs a squad so hopefully they will create but I'm glad that this exists and I'll definitely be picking it up

This is my same sentiment. I'd rather knock a few dollars off and make the jump before I move any further. Had Hot Toys gave us a DX TCW Maul with a throne, I feel like things would be a bit different for me. Probably would've grabbed two and hoped for some grunts. Here's hoping though! Lol obi wan in mando armor came out this week..so now we have a diffrent version to go with this one

After learning that this figure as priced as it is, it’s gonna be a double maybe for me. I totally agree in that regard. No reason this figure should be $30-$40 overpriced. I didn’t even think to look at the actual source material. Odd that it’s kind of different. If they had thrown in a swap out helmet and some armor, by all means it would have justified that $265 price tag. Don’t know why they haven’t been doing that. Missed opportunity.

I don't blame you, to be honest. As much as I'd like to get a second one, it's a tough call since Hot Toys is going all out for this line. Hopefully you get the chance to find him later on if they don't limit it.

TBF, anything outside of the cities on Mandalore is completely wrecked and is a wasteland, so I get the base. But yeah, they could've colored it differently or something. Added some rocks maybe.

Overpriced and it looks like they're still sticking with pleather, which just deteriorates. Not sure why they can't just use real leather (for the price they want) or just sculpt the damn thing. 🤦‍♂️🙄

Yeah, they tease us with changes every once in a while and go back to what they normally do. The last little bit of leather we received on a Star Wars figure was Crosshair and they went right back to pleather after.
