The 26/11/2008 massacre in Mumbai was the last straw on the camel's back. The highly pro-Pakistan Congress party did nothing to avenge it. On the contrary it kept on trading with Pakistan. That was the turning in the psyche of the majority Hindus. They decided to find a party and a leader who will preserve the Hindu pride. They found it in the BJP and Narendra Modi. No trade with Pakistan is possible because every rupee that Pakistan saves will go towards mounting another such attack on India. A hungry and bankrupt Pakistan is the best Pakistan as far as Hindus are concerned. Hameed Gul - the first director of Pakistani ISI - started the idea of death to India with a thousand cuts. Why would Indians want a continuation of that policy.

I have listened to many similar podcasts and what surprises me is that some in Pakistan feel that India is falling over itself to trade with Pakistan. They conveniently forget or say it different language, it is Pakistan who needs the trade far more than India. India is doing very well on exports without Pakistan.

Why only Pakistani saying conflict etc..n..trade with India..no one In India saying this..in fact no one in India want anything to do with Pakistan at all.. whichever govt comes..

What’s the point of all this discussion? India does not have any incentive to import or export anything from or to Pakistan. Most people in Sweden have more annual salaries vs total amount India imported from Pakistan in 2023!!! Just under $230K US dollars. It’s a chump change!!

India and Pakistan relation can never be solved so long as Pakistan Army has decision making authority in Pakistan. Whenever india relied upon Pakistan, it was always cheated. India will never do same mistake so long as modi in power.

Indian government has not banned trade, Pakistan did that so India will definitely welcome trade with Pakistan at government level but general population doesn't want that.

You still missed the gist of the trade. India had never stopped trade with India, it is pakistan who did. Indian traders are still trading with Pakistan , but through 3rd country. There is not direct trade, but indirect trade. India will not gain anything, as we are already selling products in same price, and direct trade happens, then trade will shift from 3rd country to India-Pakistan. Here beneficiary is pakistan, because they will get the same price in which India is selling.

Trade would benefit Pakistan more than India. 1. Goods would be cheaper (due to less transportation cost and cheap labour). 2. Pakistan has shortage of US dollars as foreign currency reserve. So, India and Pakistan can workout a mutual agreement for trade in rupees. 3. Pakistan can invite India to invest in Pakistan and have joint ventures. Capital is short in Pakistan but not in India. 4. As Indian industry would have stakes in Pakistan, India would have stakes in the stability of Pakistan. Though I am sceptical. When China, the dearest friend of Pakistan and with the guarantee of army, is not able to operate comfortably and its investments not safe, it would be a wishful thinking that it would good for India to trade with Pakistan.

Pehle India se toh puchlo hum trade establish karna chahte hain bhi ya nahi..!? We have no hate for anyone but for terrorism and radicalism... And we don't want our country to establish any kind of relationship with Pakistan... India doesn't need Pakistan for anything... We have no gains from Pakistan...!!

Why don't Pakistani experts and economist focus on trading with China, ME and central asia. What is stopping them to export goods to them. EU has accorded Pakistan with GSP status so what's stopping Pakistan to become a super power? Bharat se trade karke kya milega? Forget India for another 25 years.

True it is time for India to take back the land that has been occupied by so called pakistan and bangladesh since 1947.
