Is it safe to bike through Tampa and St. Pete?
Tampa and St. Petersburg are getting recognition for being "bikeable."
Zillow recently rated different communities on the presence of bike lanes, trails, hills, road connectivity and the number of cyclists in the area. Here in Florida, Tampa was ranked 5th and St. Pete ranked 2nd.
Jenny Dean lives in Tampa and Grant Gilmore lives in St. Pete. So we sent them out to do a little cycling to see just how "bikeable" our cities are.

VERY nice to see a protected bike lane near the VA! It doesn't connect to anything, but it's a nice start. How about converting the sidewalks on Fowler to a mixed-use path? The bikes are already using those sidewalks, so they don't die. PAINT is not infrastructure!

I love this idea, and honestly I pray for a solution to our transportation issues

@@Ava-cq1zi You can pray but maybe you’ll also send emails to city officials to show more solid support? 😉🚴♀️
It is not safe to be on a bicycle anywhere in Florida.

Its really not. In my small city there is only ONE bicycle lane. In the whole entire city that connects to nothing, except the gas station and abruptly ends. Like?????? We don’t even need gas why !?!?!
No it is not safe to bike anywhere in the USA or much less the whole damn planet. Proceed at your own risk

Pfft. Amsterdam, Copenhagen, & hundreds of US cities actively planning & building safe bike/ pedestrian transport laugh at this.
