About Cal Newport:
Cal Newport is a computer science professor at Georgetown University. In addition to his academic research, he writes about the intersection of digital technology and culture. Cal's particularly interested in our struggle to deploy these tools in ways that support instead of subvert the things we care about in both our personal and professional lives.

Hey Cal, for these little clips I would love if there was a link to the original longer video more obviously accessible in the description. I see a link to the audio version, but I was looking for the video version. A link directly to the time of this video inside that one would also be cool, but extra.

Reading has always been a major part of my life. About one and a half years ago I stopped using my phone for relaxation and began scheduling my free time and the number of books per month went up to about three. I could read more, but atm I am not willing to sacrifice any other part of my life to it, so it will stay at that, depending on length obviously.

I am starting Digital Minimalism, I am loving it... I would say start with one that resonates with you, and also read the introduction of the book to see if it is the one you want or need right now(like the amazon kindle sample or the audio sample amazon offers for free)

Deep work is great. One which isn't talked about a lot, but was very good, is So Good They Can't Ignore You. A lot of the same ideas of Deep Work, but from the perspective of why and how you can do *great work* (spoiler: part of that is working deeply!)

According to Schopenhauer, most books are garbage and it's important to avoid reading them. Best to read only great books. youtube.com /watch?v=LCTHrBC2zSw
