+Kai Moser The point of the Way of White Corona(or a use I've found for it) is that it can catch people off guard and stagger them, opening them up for attack. Also, there is a mechanic with it I don't fully understand where if you perfectly distance yourself from the enemy and fire it, it can(or can't, it seems to be random for me) deal damage in the 100-400 range. That, plus the fact that it's basically a guaranteed stagger makes it more of a utility spell than an active damage spell, much like Snap Freeze, which does pretty crappy damage for how long it takes to apply, but reduces stamina regen.

Relatedly, I've been working on updating the Bloodborne wiki with the HP values of all the enemies in NG+. On a character with base-level strength and skill, an unupgraded saw cleaver deals 0 damage to Amygdala's feet and tail, and you need to upgrade it to +2 to even deal one point of damage. Just like in DS3, the value doesn't even display. I was actually surprised that it was possible to 100% out-defend damage in any way.

Yeah it still does...decent damage to normal enemies. The difference is that Amygdala has such high defense on the legs and tail that it manages to completely absorb the damage.

I'm a bit late for this but the lava sludge monsters near the Smouldering Lake have 100% fire defense, realized this the other day when I hit one with a Chaos Fire Orb and it did no damage on my sl120 pyro build. Figured I'd let you know!

If you are far enough away, shooting an enemy with a bow will deal 0 damage. I know for a fact it works on the underground pontiff beasts, because blood shoots out and it looks at the player, but no number pops up.

LIMIT BREAKER, THE DARK HAND'S WEAPON ART NOW HAS HYPER ARMOR

After extensive testing I have discovered an alternate means of dealing no damage with a weapon attack! The process is a little bit complicated so bear with me, as I will lay out the steps of this procedure in full. First, and this may seem counter intuitive, but we actually want to optimize our damage output, at least to some degree. I recommend using the old standby of the black knight greataxe so you can maximize your physical damage without having to go too overboard with your stat allocation. So naturally you want to fully upgrade the weapon, and also get enough stats to meet the base requirements. You should also go beyond this, at least to 40 STR/DEX, but I recommend getting to 50 of each just to make the trick work a little bit better. I'm not 100% sure of this part because some of our testing data was a little bit off, but I think you need at least 650 AR, (again, not 100% sure on this but if you use 50/50 with the black knight axe you are definitely good.) Next up you'll want to equip the weapon in your right hand (this is important, it took me a lot of testing before I realized I was doing this part wrong!) For the next step it can help if you have a friend to pull off the next step in pvp, but it isn't entirely necessary as you can do this against unaware players as well, with a little bit of luck and patience. So if you've got a friend, make sure to set up a fight area with them using a password, or otherwise just join some popular pvp area. So I'm going to outline the steps for doing this with a friend first, then go into doing it with random players. So first up, you'll want your friend to have enough HP to survive an attack from the greataxe. This isn't entirely necessary, but it does help things go more smoothly if you mess up the following steps (it'll save time in the long run, trust me.) It can also hep if they get some healing magic, but that's a little overkill, so meh. Next up you're going to want them to equip the follower shield if they have the dlc, or if they don't I tried a number of other shields, but the sunlight shield was the only one that seemed to provide comparable results. As the latter is far more difficult to acquire, I recommend going with the follower shield if possible. Next you're going to want to have you friend equip the shield you decided to use (again, extensive testing proved this step to be absolutely necessary, don't forget it!) At first we tried equipping the shield in the right hand but due to certain constraints this method only works when it is used in the left. Next up you'll want them to make sure they have at least 18 INT and 10 ATT. These are the stats required to be able to cast crystal hail. Also have them equip the sun princess ring (it is my belief that the hp regen is possibly how this method works, but I don't have the fancy magic tools limit does to peep on hp values so just roll with me for now.) Next up you'll want to have your friend equip to equip the heretic staff in the right hand. I don't know why it has to be this one, but a funny coincidence is the thought I had that damage actually wants to deal damage and so forcing it to not do damage is heretical, but ultimately again I really don't know why and I doubt from made this inconsistency for those reasons. Okay, now we have all the prepwork done so we're on to the execution. This next step can be very tricky because you're also on a pretty strict time limit for execution, so follow the steps closely. First up you'll want to have your friend unequip the sun princess ring. Then you lock onto them and have them equip it AFTER you lock on (THIS IS IMPORTANT.) Next, you want to move within range to be able to hit them. Next, you want them to cast great magic shield, and then block IMMEDIATELY. If you start an attack while the cast animation is still in progress and then have the attack connect while they are blocking, you're weapon will actually deal ZERO DAMAGE. Again, this took a LOT of testing to confirm but if you follow these steps exactly, and make sure to get the timing on the attack right, I've found these results to be 100% reproducible. I've also been able to get similar results while fighting other players under different circumstances, but again, there's a lot there I couldn't control and I'm not sure exactly what those factors are, but sometimes when attacking these random players while they block with a shield I would have my attacks also not do any damage. It is my intention to investigate these matters further, because honestly some of these steps *may* be unnecessary, but at the very least I CAN CONFIRM additional methods to achieve weapons dealing zero damage. tl;dr: process is very complicated, unable to briefly summarize.

Well, actually... NCT NR will still deal damage. You need a PWCT Soulbrandt or a PBCT Demonbrandt in order to deal 0 damage.

Considering only one slot for each hand, that would be, probably: Smough's set/Havel's set (see which set piece is heavier in each case) + Havel's Shield + Smough Hammer/Morne's (don't recall which one is heavier) + 4 Havel's Ring (ironically, it is also the heaviest ring) + Iron Flesh. That should do it...

I knew the answer to the question before watching for once. I did zero damage before, to the fire blobs in catacombs/ smoldering lake. I assume I did fire damage only and they are 100 % resistant to it. Some of them live in lava so it makes sense I guess. But even with knowing all that, I prefer your way of testing and bringing the news in the old man voice XD

I've encountered a glitch multiple times where I do zero damage on a shield break crit or backstab. The glitch only happens if I'm on uneven ground and it also makes the enemy invuln when they are standing back up.

Dose the Hawk Ring affect the Weapon Arts of the Crow Quills and/or Follower Javelin, and can the Leo Ring be used to boost the damage of thrown projectiles like throwing knives and kukries?

hey limit breakers helicopter man returns if you take the Splitleaf Greatsword and hold down the w.a button you helicopter people to death and also if you have a quality build for some odd reason you get more ar with the sharp infusion instead of the refined infusion but if you really want to blend people helicopter style then get a heavy infusion with 66 strength and remember to put a lot of points into Endurance
