Fact about the bottles. The moulds used in making the bottles contain steel from the World Trade Center so when each bottle is blown it is touched by World Trade Center steel.

Nice honest review! I bought the small batch(45.00) a few months ago and mine is still heavy oak. Really cool company of vets. They made a movie 12 Strong with Chris Hemsworth that was really good. The template of the face plate on the bottles was forged out of steel from the towers. More time and it will be better I’m sure!

Kurt you have one of my favorite qualities in a person: you don’t get offended and sidetracked! Instead you accept criticisms (whether they’re warranted or not), apologize (even though you might not need to), and transition back on track with a clarifying thought. This ability keeps the mood positive and the focus on the big picture (whatever your video is about). I’m sure this has been a valuable skill for you in many avenues of your life. Love you guys, keep up the great videos I’ll be here watching and supporting 💪

As a St. Petersburg FL local, these guys are amazing. Huge supporters of First Responders(their restaurant always hosts a PBA Christmas party) and when the product first hit our market it started at about $35 for the straight bourbon which I thought wasn't too bad early in my bourbon journey. Great job guys!

I served in the United States Air Force, 1978-1982. There were no wars during those four years, so I never went anywhere near combat. Even in my last assignment, the 3rd Combat Communications Group, if we'd gone to war we would've been three miles behind the front. But I appreciate y'all doing a whiskey which veterans make.

Another quality review, I really appreciate the honesty and candidness about everything that is poured. I’m wondering if there were pours that were disappointing in the Glencairn but were more palatable over a block of ice or with a splash of water, and revealed flavors that were “hidden” when drinking neat?

Great job, gents! Attended a Horse Soldier Bourbon Seminar and Tasting at my local Binny's and met Mark Nutch. He told us their amazing story. He also told is about their new distillery and the Urban Stillhouse. We had the opportunity to sample their Straight Bourbon Whiskey, their Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey and their Barrel Strength Bourbon Whiskey (about 114-117 proof). We also sampled their 121.4 proof Barrel Strength Bourbon Whiskey which was absolutely amazing. Another veteran owned distillery to review that I recommend is Hooten Young and their 12 yr American Whiskey. Their story is told in the movie Black Hawk Down (2001).

I myself have not yet tried either one of them and I have yet to see the Barrel Proof version. I have to say, I agree on the price point…it is a little high…however, your video has intrigued me to possibly pull the trigger and give it a try on my own at some point. I do tend to lean towards Single Barrel and Barrel Proof bourbons so I’m interested to see how I react to these in the near future.

Great review, have bottles of their small batch and straight and I prefer the small batch. Their bourbon isn't my favorite but you cannot put a price on the history and lineage of their bourbon. For those that were a fan of the movie 12 Strong I cannot recommend enough that you read the book Horse Soldiers by Doug Stanton as well as The Only Thing Worth Dying for by Eric Blehm. The former is the account of the Horse Soldiers and their fight in Northern Afghanistan and that latter is the account of the SF Soldiers that partnered with Karzai and their fight in Kandahar which ultimately led to Karzai's presidency. Great books outlying the incredible heroism of our SF Soldiers that were America's first response to 9/11.

I have the utmost respect for Veterans. Bought this bottle to support those that started this distillery and because my wife thought the bottle was attractive and would look good on the shelf. Mine had a 2 year age statement. 2 years in the barrel is not long enough to impact enough flavor. Mine has been setting on shelf untouched for 2 years. Nothing bitter or off putting, just no flavor. I have a rule now,,,minimum 4 years old.

I have all 3 bottles. Got then for free. Love the story and have met some of the owners. Although these bottles are not nearly worth their price point. And honestly it's not very good whiskey. The Kentucky straight is the best of the bunch but still not work 40+ dollars. Although, sipping on the small batch now, does anyone else get an overwhelming taste of beets? Just curious if anyone else gets this flavor from it. Keep sipping!
